Chapter 423: Garden of Eden
...
[Available Anchor found... do you wish to claim it?]
Aether stared at the Codex’s message, thinking about it. Did he have any reason to say no? Maybe if he wasn’t banned from joining another story, he might have, but if he didn’t claim it, he was going to be stuck without one until Winter, which just wasn’t fun.
"Yes," Aether responded, an excited smile blooming on his face.
...
[Anchor set]
...
[You may name your Anchor first, before traveling to it]
’A name?’ Aether tilted his head, distressed. He hadn’t thought he had to name it, thinking that it would just get the name of the book, but it seems like he was wrong; that wasn’t great. He had no idea what name to give it.
Putting his hand on his chin, he thought about it for a second. It had to represent him, something specific to him... so he thought that maybe it could contain Eden. Not only was it an ability he had created. But at the same time, Fallen Eden was the third name of the Abyss, and one he had created himself for it.
But it would be boring if it was just Eden. He had to figure out another word to put near it.
’Can’t really give it the Abyss’s third name; it’s not like it will be unknown for long. It is going to get found as much as I try not to, I don’t... necessarily mind that much; it’s not like my life will be in danger, but making connections and getting service will be harder when everyone knows my identity.’
Maybe something opposite of the Abyss could work, something opposite of Forgotten, something that people can easily remember.
’Though bad things are easier to remember than good things, as ironic as it is. But I don’t want to go down that path.’
...
His eyes light up for a second. ’Maybe something related to Paradise, or something close to it? It’s something that people can remember easily; it’s something we desire, a Paradise, where we can do anything and everything we want. But I don’t think Paradise of Eden is that good. It feels forced.’
But what was something close to Paradise, what gave people a similar, yet different feel? What calmed people, and made them happy, without forcing it...
’Garden... of Eden? It could work...’ He sighed. ’Whatever, let’s just use it. A name shouldn’t waste so much time and thinking; I’ll just hope I can change it later.’
Clearing his throat, Aether stared at the Codex. "Garden of Eden, that is the name I wish to use."
...
[Very well, your anchor {Garden of Eden} has been created]
The world shaped around him, as he found himself yet again in the dark forest.
He shivered for a second, memories crawling at his back. Not fun ones, of course, since, as he had said, bad memories are easier to remember.

As the Codex window opened up, Aether glanced at it, surprised. "A system inside a system, how funny."
It seems a bit... complicated... I really should have paid attention in class; I would have understood it better... maybe it has a description or some sort when I click on each, like for abilities?
[Anchor Level]- The ability that allows the Anchor to grow; the higher in level your Anchor is, the more people you can hold, the more powerful your buildings become, and the more money they produce, but also allows you to expand your anchor with another story. Level is gained when someone uses one of your structures; when you level up, the amount of EXP you gain from things will also change]
Level 1-
0/10 EXP needed to level up
Aether sighed out of relief; if this didn’t exist, he really was going to have a hard time understanding everything; after all, it was a whole new system he had to get accustomed to, without any knowledge about it. But, luckily, there was something to explain it.
’I still regret listening to Sena.’
[Anchor Coins]- The currency of all anchors; they are required to create structures and assign either humans or NPCs to work on them. You can use them to upgrade builds, and they are needed for expansion. They are gained through normal money whenever a human or NPC, in the early stages of the Anchor, pays at any of your structures; the money gets transformed into Anchor Coins that the owner can either use or transfer back into normal coins for themselves.
10 Bronze Coins- 1 Anchor Coin
1 Silver Coin- 10 Anchor Coins
Gold Coin- 1 000 Anchor Coins.]
Aether visibly gasped... ’Does this mean I can convert my money and get myself 10 whole silver coins? That’s insane!’ It was way more than he had ever had on him; his master had had more, but he was talking about himself, and to think he could just get them whenever he wanted...
But then he stopped himself. "Well... I will probably need them for the Anchor... and if I convert them all and use them, I won’t be able to do anything. The Anchor is hollow, so I can’t make any money. I will be stuck..."
He had known that this was probably going to be the most important and the most interesting out of all the stuff he was going to have to do all summer, but he didn’t expect it to be so complex. ’It almost feels like some sort of game...’ There was already so much stuff, and he had only seen two of the things inside the window. When he got to the shop, that was probably when he was going to get to the hard stuff.
’I should probably leave it for later. If I start with it, I will get too caught up and won’t be able to do everything I wanted to do.’
...
’But this doesn’t mean I won’t be back soon.’
