Chapter 430: His Own World
Among the things on his to-do list, one last thing remained that he hadn’t started. That was watching the egg he had gotten from the Raven, but there was only one problem. He had no idea how to do it; he had no idea how he was supposed to break open the egg. That was why he had left it towards the end, hoping that it was going to break until they got there.
But it hadn’t, and now, he still had no idea what to do. He wasn’t an expert in hatching eggs; he wasn’t the most knowledgeable guy when it came to animals; he hadn’t experienced one in a while.
If the egg wouldn’t open, it just meant it needed more time, time he was going to give, after all; why wouldn’t he? What did he get from trying to get it open too fast?
...
Which now only meant that he could finally go back to his anchor and finally start understanding how it worked. Aether sighed as he closed his eyes; the next time he opened them, finding himself back inside his own empty place.

’Where did I remain last time? Capacity, doubt it was something interesting, just how many people could be inside, but let’s see.’
[Capacity]-The ability to hold a certain number of people; the number of people inside only counts for real people, npc being counted as real people only when they came to buy and train; those that are assigned to stay behind the counter and sell are not counted. If the capacity is full, and a human wants to join while an NPC is inside, it will be replaced.
Available Space: 100
Used Space: 1
So he could hold up to 100 people, with only him using it so far, but since he also counted it was basically 99. And it was probably always like that: always a space reserved for the owner; that way, they can’t just get stuck outside their own anchor.
It was interesting to see that the Codex considered the NPCs as actual human beings, but still. It wasn’t anything special.
[Create Structure]- The Ability to build many things inside the Anchor to help decorate, while also keeping it functional. With this option, you can choose to build walls, roads, towers, decorated ponds, all sorts of things that you desire.
[Modify Environment]- The Ability to reshape your surroundings and to help bring out your exact artistic view of the Anchor. You can rearrange hills, delete or even create water. Nothing is out of your grasp. Everything is yours to shape into what you like.
[Add Facility]- The Ability to build special buildings that help the Seeker with getting both Level and sometimes Money; there’s a long range of different facilities that can be built if the awakeners accept, all for a respectable price.
’This really just feels like a game; I can basically build anything I want, however I want, and whenever I want. I guess that I’m the master of this land, but still, isn’t this a bit exaggerated?’ But, if he was to really look at it, there was a limit; that is, that he couldn’t just do whatever he wanted. He needed to keep count of his money; he couldn’t lose too much.
’I should try building something. Maybe a training ground?’ But if he wanted to do that, he needed to get rid of the trees around him, that would get in the way, so he had to use the other option.
’But um how does this even work...’ Aether tapped the button, seeing what was going to happen next.
[Modify Environment]-
1-Remove.
2-Add
3-Reshape
’So I can either remove something from the world, add, or just reshape it as it is. Sadly, I have to remove first.’ Lifting his finger, he tapped the first option.
[Remove]-
1-100 meters around the awakened.
2-500 meters around the awakened,
3-1000meters around the awakened
’You can remove up to a whole kilometer; that is quite a lot of space. But it also must be quite expensive, and I don’t have that much at all, so I’d better just stick with the first option,’ He thought as he pressed the one hundred meters.
[Would you like to remove everything in 100 meters of you, or is there something you wish to keep? If there is, just note it, and it won’t be removed. The removal itself will cost 10 coins]
Aether shook his head. "No, there is nothing I want to keep; delete everything."
...
He was caught off guard, as the trees around him suddenly started to evaporate like it was nothing, one by one getting deleted as if they were something disposable. It was so strange to see... it didn’t feel real; something like that would never happen in their world.
The process had been really fast; it didn’t take long until he was inside a hollow space, all for him to use. And there was only one thing left to do. Aether lifted his hand, pressing the third option.
[Add Facility]-
1-Production
2-Crafting
3-Knowledge
4-Combat
5-Recovery
6-Nature
7-Economy
8-Special
#Warning: Most facilities will be unlocked with leveling up; at a low level, most will be hidden.
’There are a lot of categories; I did not expect it at all... it seemed a bit overwhelming, but at the same time... fun. It feels like I’m playing some sort of simulator, but at the same time, with human lives, and it’s not a game; it’s real life...’
Sighing, Aether pressed the combat button, and only one option came up.
1-Training ground /15 coins.
"So it’s only a bit more than the expansion. Well, I guess it’s not the best of training grounds, since my level is low, and the expansion was going to last some more time, as it is 100 meters is in no way small.
As Aether purchased the training ground, it started creating itself: dummies, targets, and a small place for dueling. It wasn’t anything special, but it was the start.
...
’This... is pretty fun.’
