Chapter 1440: You Are the Only Woman I Love
Cedric Fisher wasn’t quite sure who exactly Anthony was, but he could see that Anthony’s relationship with Alice Turner was anything but ordinary.
Sophia Wood and Lily Turner had always thought Anthony was Alice’s young boyfriend. Even though during dinner Alice and Anthony both claimed they were just siblings, the two women still believed they were in a romantic relationship.
Now hearing Anthony say this, Sophia and Lily were genuinely surprised. They could tell he was being sincere, every word considering Alice’s feelings.
"Alice! Anthony is absolutely right, you should follow your heart when making a decision, don’t overthink things." Sophia took advantage of the opportunity to persuade Alice to accept Thomas Fisher’s proposal—they, the onlookers, could clearly see that she still loved him.
Seeing Alice still showing no sign of a decision, Lily grew anxious and reached out to push Alice, "Sis! Why are you still hesitating? Quickly agree to Thomas! If you continue to stay silent, Thomas’s knees will be doomed; don’t feel bad about it later."
She understood her sister well, knowing exactly what Alice was hesitating and worrying about deep inside.
"Aly! I know what’s worrying you, and I understand those concerns." Thomas Fisher sighed deeply and continued, "What you’re worried about and concerned about isn’t a big deal. Can we face it together?"
He wanted to solve those issues alone, but he knew her well enough to realize she would never let him do that.
The moment Thomas Fisher knelt before her, Alice’s heart was deeply touched, and now hearing him say so much, her heart was stirring with waves of emotion.
"How could you be so silly? Such an excellent woman loves you, you..."

Thomas Fisher didn’t let Alice continue, interrupting her passionately yet assertively.

Alice was utterly defeated by the words "the only one" from Thomas Fisher’s mouth. Tears that had been held back for long suddenly streamed down her face, and he noticed her situation immediately.
"Silly! What’s there to cry about?"
Thomas Fisher reached out to wipe Alice’s tears, but the more he wiped, the more her tears flowed. He gave up wiping her tears altogether and stood up to embrace her tightly.
Instead of pushing Thomas away as she did before, Alice reached out and hugged him back, burying her face in his neck and crying without restraint.
Thomas Fisher deeply sensed Alice’s reaction, tightened his arms, pulling her closer into his chest. "Alright, cry as much as you want."
He didn’t further persuade her not to cry or utter unnecessary words; he simply held her quietly, letting her vent her emotions in his arms.
Witnessing this scene, the others wisely stood up and left, gifting the reunited couple a space undisturbed.
"Mr. Anthony! Can we have a chat?" Exiting the living room, Lily Turner took the initiative to invite Anthony to talk in the yard.
"Of course we can."
She assumed Anthony wouldn’t accept, but surprisingly he agreed so readily. Lily didn’t overthink it, and after saying goodbye to Cedric Fisher and Sophia Wood, she walked out the door with Anthony.
