"Do you have to talk to me like this?"

Hearing what Alice Turner just said, Thomas Fisher suddenly realized that she was deliberately saying those annoying words to him.

At that, Alice didn’t even blink, "Annoyed by my harsh words? Then you can stay away from me, I didn’t force you to listen."

The tone was unfriendly, the words were awful, and her expression was even worse.

"Alice! Stop wasting your effort trying to annoy me because I will never leave you." Thomas tightly held Alice’s hand, tilting his head and gazing at her affectionately, "I will never leave you."

After speaking, he stepped to her side, looking at her with deep love and tenderness.

Alice couldn’t handle this; the resolve she had barely mustered last night was completely dismantled by his affection at this moment. She lowered her head, trying not to look at Thomas, attempting to keep some rationality.

"I’m not trying to annoy you; I was serious about what I said earlier. Those words were genuine." At this point, her tone was much friendlier than before, and her words were not as sharp or direct; her facial expression softened considerably.

"Since you were serious, why don’t you dare to look at me?" Thomas used his other hand to lift Alice’s chin, forcing her to lift her lowered head and look at him, "Look at me and repeat what you said earlier."

He gazed at her intensely, leaving her nowhere to hide.

Alice raised her other hand, intending to remove Thomas’s hand from her chin, but before she could lift it, he pulled her into his embrace, "Don’t say what you can’t mean, why make it difficult for yourself? Seeing you like this hurts me."

He tightened his arm around her waist, pressing her closer into his embrace.

"I wasn’t lying, nor am I making things difficult for myself." Alice used her free hand to push against Thomas’s chest, though it was quite redundant, as their bodies were already pressed together.

Thomas let out a barely audible sigh, speaking helplessly, "Alice! Please stop saying one thing while meaning another, okay?"

She had said so much to irritate him, and he could guess why she was doing it. Knowing that, he forced her to look at him, so her eyes would give him the most genuine answer.

"I’m not saying one thing while meaning another." Alice immediately retorted.

Ding!

At this moment, the elevator arrived on the first floor.

Thomas did not continue arguing about the issue of saying one thing while meaning another; once the elevator doors opened, he led her out of the elevator.

Anthony followed them out, grumbling discontentedly from behind, "You two are too much, acting as if I don’t exist."

Since entering the elevator, Anthony had been treated like a transparent person by Thomas and Alice. Thomas ignoring him was one thing, but Alice ignored him too.

Hearing Anthony’s complaints from behind, Alice suddenly stopped, turned to look at him following from behind, her face showing more displeasure than Anthony, "You can speak? I thought you suddenly turned mute."
