Chapter 1378: Go Back to Your Room and Wait for Me
Ever since that incident, Michael Linton and Serena Zimmerman took Athena Linton back to Golden Morning’s home. Athena really wanted to stay in Flame City, but she had done those things.
She felt too ashamed to stay, so she obediently followed her parents and left Flame City.
Upon learning Athena had returned to Golden Morning, William Turner was depressed for a very long time, but eventually, he managed to adjust. In his heart, he secretly made up his mind to go to Golden Morning to find her after graduating from military school.
He wanted to pursue her, no matter who she loved at that time, he would make sure she fell in love with him.
Since that day, Thomas Fisher completely moved out of the family home and into his private apartment. In truth, he treated the company as his home, rarely going back to the apartment. He slept in the resting room of his office at night.
Ever since the situation was exposed, Autumn York’s days at home were very difficult, her son completely ignored her, and though her husband was physically present, it was as if he wasn’t there at all, treating her like she was invisible.
She was very unsatisfied with how both father and son treated her this way, but thinking back on those things she had done previously, her dissatisfaction was instantly replaced by regret.
If she had known such a situation would occur, she wouldn’t have done those things. Now the daughter-in-law was gone, her son ignored her, and her husband acted as if she didn’t exist.
She couldn’t let the situation continue to develop badly!
That evening, Cedric Fisher went to the study again, Autumn hesitated in her room for a long time before she gathered enough courage to leave her room to find him.
Knock! Knock! Knock!
Taking deep breaths in front of the door, she raised her hand and knocked on it.
After a long time of knocking, there was no movement at all inside.
Autumn raised her hand and knocked on the door again, this time with more force than before. Rather than just knocking, it was more like pounding.
But just like before, after a long time of knocking, there wasn’t any response from inside, not even a little movement.
This time, Autumn couldn’t stay calm, she reached out to turn the doorknob, but discovered that the door wasn’t even locked; it opened with just a turn.
If she had known, she wouldn’t have knocked so hard earlier.
Murmuring to herself at the door, Autumn pushed it open and entered. Once inside, she immediately saw Cedric Fisher sitting behind the desk, but it was as if he hadn’t heard any commotion at the door; he remained absorbed in staring at his computer screen.
"Old Cedric..."
"I have work to do now, go back to your room and wait for me. I’ll come find you once I’m done."
Autumn barely called out ’Old Cedric’ when Cedric interrupted her. He spoke without even lifting his head, and if she hadn’t heard him speak, she would have thought that the words hadn’t come from him.
"Oh!"
Glancing at the diligent Cedric, Autumn turned and left the study, and after exiting she conscientiously closed the study door.
As the moment the study door closed, Cedric, who had been focused on the computer, suddenly straightened up. He gazed at the study door and sighed helplessly, then continued working on the computer.
More than an hour later, Cedric finally finished his work. As he was about to turn off the computer and leave the study, he suddenly sat back down in his chair.
He pulled out the phone kept in his pocket, hesitated for a moment, and eventually dialed Thomas Fisher’s number.
"Hello!"
After a few rings, Thomas Fisher answered the phone.
