When Lucas heard William say that he wanted to join Sun and Moon Academy, a gleam flashed in his eyes.

"Sun and Moon Academy..." Richard nodded at William’s words. "With your affinity, it won’t be difficult for you to join it."

"Thank you, my lord," William bowed slightly upon hearing Richard’s words before stepping aside to let the other kids continue their tests.

"If you are going to join the Sun and Moon Academy, then you will be my junior from now on," Abel who was handling the test spoke with a smile.

Just as William was about to reply, he saw Lucas walking toward them.

Seeing Lucas, Abel’s expression changed slightly, and he stopped talking, turning his attention back to testing the remaining kids.

"Hello, Junior. I will be your senior from now on as well," Lucas spoke with a friendly smile, appearing completely different from his true personality.

William sneered inwardly as he knew this guy was just putting on an act to make him join his faction.

But it suited William’s intentions perfectly, so he suppressed his killing intent and hurriedly replied,

"Please take care of me, Senior."

A gloomy light flashed within Lucas’ eyes when William addressed him as Senior instead of My Lord, as being called Senior by a mere peasant didn’t sound pleasant to his ears.

However, he didn’t show it outwardly and simply smiled.

"Naturally. As a senior, it’s my duty to take care of my juniors."

Suddenly, Lucas showed an expression as if he had remembered something and spoke in a lower voice.

"By the way, Junior, the academy isn’t as peaceful as you might think. If you want to improve yourself inside the academy, you must join a faction..." He looked at William and smiled.

"I also have my own faction in the academy. Normally, you would have to go through many tests to join it. But since we met here, it must be fate. As such, I will allow you to join my faction without taking any tests."

William’s eyes lit up when he heard Lucas’ words, and he immediately put on an excited expression suitable for a simpleton country boy who thought a pie had suddenly fallen from the sky into his hands.

"Senior, are you telling the truth?"

Seeing William’s excited expression, Lucas’ lips curled into an inward sneer, but he simply nodded.

The moment William saw him nod, he immediately revealed a grateful expression.

"Thank you, Senior."

Baron Xing and Richard, who had already returned to their seats, witnessed the entire scene from the side but didn’t say anything.

Richard obviously cared more about the reward he would receive for discovering someone with excellent-grade Aether Affinity than about William himself.

Baron Xing, on the other hand, remained silent because he was well aware of the situation inside the academies and felt it would be better for William to join a noble’s faction if he truly wanted to make full use of his talent.

The Aether Affinity Test continued, but neither Lucas nor William paid much attention to it anymore, as they remained busy talking off to the side.

When William noticed that the test was about to end, his eyes gleamed, and he spoke to Lucas in a lower voice.

"By the way, Senior, have you heard about the incident that happened in the barony recently?"

Lucas raised an eyebrow upon hearing William’s words and gestured for him to continue.

He had arrived in Rosco Barony only last night along with Richard and had been staying at Baron Xing’s manor.

As such, he had no idea what William was talking about.

William didn’t speak immediately. He first looked around to make sure no one was listening.

Only after confirming that nobody was paying attention did he finally speak.

"Around two weeks ago, a strange incident happened on the outskirts of the barony. A giant crater over one hundred meters in diameter suddenly appeared there out of nowhere. The town guards and many other people investigated the scene, but they couldn’t find any clues about what had caused it..." William paused before lowering his voice even further.

"I don’t know whether it’s true or not, but some people claimed they saw Lord Xing’s personal guards searching for something there during the night. It’s even rumored that a precious treasure is hidden there."

Lucas’ eyes gleamed slightly when he heard William’s words, especially after hearing about the rumored treasure as he knew that something capable of attracting even a Star Lord like Baron Xing definitely wouldn’t be ordinary.

"Are you telling the truth?" He asked with narrowed eyes. "You know it won’t end well for you if you’re lying to me."

William hurriedly shook his head and spoke with a frightened expression.

"I am telling the truth, Senior. If you don’t believe me, you can ask the other people. It just seems that someone is deliberately suppressing the rumors about the treasure. But if you ask around, everyone will tell you about the giant crater."

Lucas narrowed his eyes even further upon hearing that.

’Is this lowly Baron suppressing the news about the treasure because he knew we were coming for the Aether Affinity Test?’

As the thought crossed Lucas’ mind, a faint gleam flashed through his eyes.

’Interesting...’

He looked at William and patted him on the shoulder.

"Good. Since you brought me such useful information, I won’t be stingy with you after we return to the academy."

"Thank you, Senior," William said with obvious excitement as he immediately thanked Lucas.

However, if one looked closely, they would notice a mocking sneer curling at the corners of his lips.

Soon, the Aether Affinity Test came to an end.

Among all the people who were tested, only eighteen were found to possess Aether Affinity.

And even among them, other than William, who possessed excellent-grade Aether Affinity, only two had Middle-Grade Aether Affinity, while the rest possessed Low-Grade Aether Affinity.

Baron Xing announced the conclusion of the test before departing with Richard and the others.

Before leaving, Richard informed William that they would depart for the academy within three days at most, so he should be prepared.

William watched Lucas climb back into the carriage and leave with the others, his eyes gleaming with a cold light.

’I hope he takes the bait... so that I can end everything tonight.’
