William opened his status window to look at the notifications about the trial he had received earlier.

====
William read the trial summary, and a deep frown appeared on his face.
’To truly inherit the God of Time’s legacy... But haven’t I already inherited his legacy?’
William remembered that when he had broken through to the Star Warrior Realm, he had received information from the spirit of the pearl stating that as long as his realm continued to increase, he would gradually unlock the entire legacy of the God of Time.
With each breakthrough to a major realm, he would receive another part of the legacy.
But now, the trial summary was stating that in order to truly inherit the legacy, he needed to complete this trial.
’What’s going on here?’
William tried to communicate with the spirit of the pearl, and the spirit immediately sent a piece of information directly into his mind.
William sorted through the information, and a look of understanding flashed across his face.
According to the information, the spirit had not lied to him previously. He could indeed unlock a part of the legacy every time he broke through to a major realm.
However, besides breaking through to a major realm, there was another way to obtain rewards related to the God of Time’s legacy.
That way was to complete the trials issued to him.
The rewards obtained from these trials could only be acquired by completing them and were not actually a part of the legacy itself.
If he missed these rewards, then even after unlocking the entire legacy, he would never be able to obtain these additional rewards.
’So these trials are sort of like special events that grant extra rewards...’
William looked at the contents of the trial, and as he read further, his eyes narrowed.
’No, calling them extra events would be wrong. It’s more like... these trials are creating a new path for my future. A path that is different from the original timeline and more beneficial to me.’
Just by reading the first condition of the trial, which required him to create a faction, William could already understand the direction the trial was trying to guide him toward.
William had actually already planned to gather some talented individuals whom he knew from the original timeline.
However, he had never considered creating a faction inside the academy because doing so would affect the interests of many nobles, and for the time being, he did not want to deal with them.
But now that he thought about it, creating a faction was actually a very good idea.
Not only did he already know several talented individuals whom he could recruit, but he also possessed countless powerful cultivation techniques and battle arts that he had encountered in the original timeline.
If he gathered those talented individuals and helped them using the techniques stored in his mind, he could definitely create a powerful force within the academy.
Having capable subordinates was always beneficial.
Not to mention anything else, if he had enough reliable people under him, he wouldn’t have to handle everything personally, such as gathering resources or collecting information.
’By using the techniques stored in my mind, not only can I recruit enough people to create a faction, but I can also use those techniques to strengthen them. In that case, occupying three spots within the top ten of the Heaven Rankings and completing the second trial shouldn’t be difficult.’
Of course, William also understood that he couldn’t simply hand out cultivation techniques and other benefits without any restrictions.
Not to mention anything else, if those nobles somehow discovered that he possessed so many powerful techniques, they would surely take action against him.
’To avoid any unforeseen situations, I will need a strong backing within the academy...’
As this thought crossed his mind, the image of a man with graying temples suddenly appeared in William’s thoughts.
’If I put in enough effort, I should be able to catch his attention, right?’
William looked at the trial rewards, and a trace of anticipation couldn’t help but arise in his heart.
The Random Skill reward was something he was already familiar with, as it was through this reward that he had previously obtained Time Acceleration skill when he completed his trial.
Time Acceleration was truly a miraculous skill with enormous potential, so William was eager to obtain another skill that might be comparable to it.
As for the Temporal Pin Artifact, he had no idea what it was.
However, judging from its name alone, it was obviously an artifact related to the power of time.
An artifact that contained the power of time could never be ordinary.
’Now I have another goal to accomplish within the academy...’
William closed his status window, and the images of Liam and several of his friends flashed through his mind.
’Considering their talents, as long as they receive the right cultivation techniques and proper guidance, it won’t be difficult for them to sweep aside most of those noble brats.’
Suddenly, William thought of something, and his eyes narrowed.
’Speaking of which, if I create a faction, it will definitely change the fates of Liam and the others, causing an enormous deviation from the original timeline...’
A grave expression appeared on his face.
’Wouldn’t causing such a huge disturbance attract the Time Devourers?’
The thought had only just appeared in his mind when, out of nowhere, a voice suddenly echoed inside his mind, startling him.
’It would actually be beneficial for you to disturb this timeline as much as possible.’
