RE: LORD OF TIME

Chapter 81: Three Days (Part 1)

Hearing the knock, William opened the door, and two young men with cold expressions came into view.

Both of them were wearing the academy’s black uniform, but compared to the black uniform William had received earlier, there was an additional Sun and Moon emblem embroidered on their uniforms.

William recognized the uniform immediately, as it was exclusive to members of the academy’s Student Council.

When his gaze fell upon their student badges, he saw that each of them had two stars engraved on it, indicating that they were second-year students.

"How can I help you, Seniors?" William asked calmly, already knowing why they were here.

Harley and Finley carefully observed William, wanting to get a clear look at the person who had beaten up a fellow student just a few minutes after entering the academy.

"You are William?" Finley, the red-haired student asked in a cold voice.

"I am," William nodded before asking with a puzzled expression. "Do you need something from me?"

"We are from the Disciplinary Department of the Student Council. You broke several academy rules immediately after entering the academy, so you need to come with us," Harley, who had navy-blue hair said as he stepped forward to grab William.

William raised an eyebrow when he saw this and calmly stepped back, dodging the hand that was reaching toward him.

Harley’s eyes narrowed.

"Are you planning to resist?" He asked in a low voice.

William chuckled and shook his head.

"No," He replied before continuing. "I am willing to come with you on my own. But before that, I would like to know exactly which rules I have broken that require you to take me away."

"Playing dumb now?" Harley sneered. "Not only did you attack a fellow student, but you also beat him so badly that he had to go to the Healing Center just to stop the bleeding. Are you saying you weren’t the one who attacked him?"

William shook his head and continued speaking calmly.

"I never said I wasn’t the one who attacked him. But my question remains the same. Which academy rule did I break?"

"Causing an unauthorized fight, injuring another student, and disrupting the academy’s peace... Aren’t those violations enough?" Finley, who had remained silent until now finally spoke.

He looked at William with a frown before advising him.

"You should come with us willingly. If you continue acting like this, we will have no choice but to use force."

William turned toward Finley and nodded.

"Senior, you are right about the rules you just mentioned. I did injure another student and cause an unauthorized fight. However, all of that happened because he repeatedly called me a ’lowly commoner’ and a ’lowly peasant.’"

He then shifted his gaze toward Harley and spoke sincerely.

"I warned him not to use those words, but he ignored my warning and kept repeating them. As such, I had no choice but to use force to stop him."

Harley’s expression darkened after hearing William’s explanation.

"So you attacked him just because of a few words? Isn’t that completely ridiculous?"

William’s lips curled into a faint smile.

"Senior, since you said you are from the Disciplinary Department, could you tell me what is written in Section Seven of the academy’s rulebook?"

"Huh?"

Both Harley and Finley were caught off guard by the sudden question and fell silent, their eyes twitching slightly.

Seeing their silence, William knew they had no idea what he was referring to.

Perhaps they had read the rulebook before, but they had never bothered to memorize it because they didn’t think it would be useful.

"Section Seven of the academy’s rulebook states that all students within the academy are equal in status. It is forbidden to use abusive words or discriminate against any student based on their birth or family background. If someone violates this rule, appropriate measures may be taken against them."

William leaned forward slightly, his eyes narrowing.

"The academy rules were personally written by Duke Charles himself and I just followed them. Senior, do you still think what I did was completely ridiculous?"

Harley suddenly felt a chill run down his spine.

Could he really say that William’s actions were ridiculous?

Even if he had a hundred times more courage, he wouldn’t dare.

After all, saying William’s actions were ridiculous was no different from saying that the rules personally established by Duke Charles were ridiculous.

Harley and Finley exchanged glances, both seeing the confusion in each other’s eyes, silently asking what they should do next.

"It’s only your side of the story that Zavier insulted you. How are we supposed to believe your words?" Harley finally asked.

William smiled faintly and shrugged.

"You can ask Zavier himself."

Harley’s eyes twitched even more after hearing that answer.

"Even if he really said those things, do you honestly think he would admit it if we asked him?"

Before William could answer, Finley suddenly spoke in a low voice.

"Actually... he probably would."

Harley looked at Finley in confusion.

Seeing his puzzled expression, Finley spoke in a low voice.

"Even we couldn’t remember the rule he just mentioned. In the eyes of most people, using words like ’commoner’ or ’peasant’ is completely normal, and hardly anyone pays attention to it."

He paused before continuing with helpless smile.

"Considering Zavier’s personality, what do you think he will say if we ask him about such a trivial matter?"

Harley was stunned and after thinking about it carefully, he realized Finley was right.

Not only would Zavier fail to deny it, but he would probably curse a few more times and say something like, How dare that lowly commoner attack me?

The two of them subconsciously looked back at William, both feeling a slight tingling sensation on their scalps.

"Did you already plan all of this before you acted?" Finley couldn’t help but ask.

"I don’t know what you are talking about, Senior," William replied with an innocent smile. "I am just a student who happens to know the academy’s rules."

Finley stared at William for a few moments before finally speaking.

"We will go question Zavier first. If we need your assistance afterward, you will have to come with us."

"No problem," William nodded, as this was exactly what he wanted.

He watched Harley and Finley leave, a thoughtful look appearing in his eyes.

’I wonder if this is enough to catch his attention.’
