Chapter 96: Lava Bear (Part 2)

BOOOOM!

With a loud booming sound, the Lava Bear’s body was smashed into the ground, its head spinning slightly from the impact of the Shockwave Fist.

William landed on the burnt ground and without hesitation, charged toward the monster, which was still in the process of getting up.

Although the fur, muscles, and skin of the bear were extremely thick, the shockwaves produced by the Shockwave Fist still drilled through them.

Even though they didn’t cause any actual injuries, they still shook its brain, making it feel dizzy.

William arrived before the Lava Bear in an instant and hurled his fist toward its face.

Bang!

The Shockwave Fist landed directly on the monster’s face, making it stagger backward. But William didn’t stop after a single punch, and his fist turned into a motion cannon.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! — — — —

One fist after another landed directly across the monster’s face, and despite its extremely high defense, blood began to ooze from its mouth as some of its teeth shattered.

The monster tried to resist and back away from William. However, with each punch, some of the shockwaves drilled into its brain, making it so dizzy that it could barely move its arms properly.

The Lava Bear couldn’t even use its skills because without being able to focus, it couldn’t properly control its Aether Energy.

Slowly, as the shockwaves drilled into its brain one after another, the monster gradually lost control of its body.

The entire face of the bear had already become a bloody mess because of shockwaves fist, but its injuries were far from serious.

It simply looked as if it had been badly beaten by a street thug.

But William’s goal was never to injure the lava bear using shockwaves fist.

A few moments later, William was already panting heavily, and even he couldn’t help but feel numb inside as he threw one punch after another at the monster’s face.

But suddenly, he noticed that the Lava Bear’s struggles were getting weaker and weaker.

It wasn’t dying or anything.

It was simply because of the effect of the Shockwave Fist that it was gradually losing consciousness.

Each time William struck the bear’s face with the Shockwave Fist, shockwaves would drill into its head, making it feel dizzy.

And as the combined shockwaves of dozens of punches drilled into its head one after another, it finally began to lose consciousness.

In fact, this was precisely the outcome William had been aiming for by continuously using the Shockwave Fist against it.

Shockwave Fist was a battle art specifically created to deal with opponents who possessed extremely high defense.

Even if a person’s defense was incredibly strong, the shockwaves could drill through their defenses and injure them from within.

But the defense of this Lava Bear was simply too high.

If William had attacked other parts of its body using the Shockwave Fist, it wouldn’t have shown much effect because the small amount of shockwaves that managed to drill through its defenses wouldn’t have been enough to cause any serious injuries.

So, he could only target its head.

Even if he couldn’t injure it, he could at least make it lose consciousness by repeatedly impacting its brain.

As the monster’s struggles weakened, William’s numb eyes gradually brightened, and he began punching it with even more vigor.

Bang!

He landed the punch for the hundredth time.

By this point, all of his Aether Energy had also been used up, and his entire body was aching.

Using the Shockwave Fist consumed both Aether Energy and stamina. It also placed a considerable strain on his body, as each punch required him to utilize every internal part of his arm to generate the powerful shockwaves.

Luckily, after the hundredth punch, the monster finally stopped moving and lost consciousness.

"What a tough guy," William muttered while panting heavily.

He stood up and operated the Time Star Codex at full power, attempting to recover his Aether Energy and stamina.

He looked at the knocked-out Lava Bear, which had finally become completely quiet, and Blood Moon appeared in his hand once again.

With a serious expression, he walked to the side of the Lava Bear, his gaze fixed on its tightly closed eyes.

He took several deep breaths to regulate his breathing, and once he had recovered a small amount of Aether Energy, he raised the blade of Blood Moon and plunged it toward the bear’s right eye.

Perhaps because of the intense danger it sensed, the Lava Bear’s body suddenly trembled slightly, and it looked as if it was about to wake up.

However, before it could fully regain consciousness—

Puchi!

The curved sword had already plunged into its eye, the blade gleaming with the green luster of wind.

ROAR!

The Lava Bear instantly woke up from the intense pain and immediately tried to struggle to its feet.

However, the instant the tip of the blade entered its eye, the green luster covering the blade transformed into a sharp wind blade and shot forward, plunging deep into its head through its eye.

Wind Cutter!

The sharp wind blade instantly shredded its brain from within.

The Lava Bear immediately stopped struggling, and the arm it had just raised fell weakly to the ground.

William pulled Blood Moon out and shook it slightly to clean the blood from its blade.

"Finally dead," He muttered under his breath and breathed a huge sigh of relief.

He could have actually used the Overload skill to try to kill the Lava Bear without first attempting to knock it unconscious.

But using Overload was extremely dangerous.

Unless absolutely necessary, he didn’t want to use this ability because once he activated it, he would enter a weakened state afterward.

If he had used Overload and failed to kill the monster, he would have become a sitting duck, without even having the ability to escape from it.

William stared at the dead monster for a few seconds, and after seeing that it really hadn’t dropped anything, his eyes couldn’t help but twitch.

’Damn it, this guy is even worse than those scorpions outside,’ He cursed inwardly before putting the Lava Bear’s body into his storage ring.

"It seems the spirit was right, and there are no other monsters in this space."

The commotion they had caused during the earlier fight had been enormous. If there were any other monsters nearby, they would have definitely been attracted by the battle.

But no one had come to interrupt their fight, meaning there really wasn’t anyone else here.

"You said the thing being nurtured here is at the top of the mountain, right?"

’Yes.’ The spirit’s voice echoed inside his head. ’And I am certain that it’s definitely not a normal treasure.’

"Let’s hope so. I didn’t get anything after killing this guy. If even the thing at the top isn’t any good, all my efforts will have been in vain," William said before rushing toward the top of the mountain.
