After quickly destroying a Monster Nest that had just finished spawning its bosses and now displayed a health bar, Shen Fei was surprised to find that this final target actually gave experience too. Just a moment ago, he had wiped out nearly a hundred bosses in one fell swoop, gaining hundreds of billions of experience points. That massive amount of EXP had boosted him straight past level 130. After level 130, his Defense Tower limit increased by another six, and he now had an open slot to learn an additional skill.

Shen Fei had assumed that once the bosses were dead, this wave of experience gain was more or less over. To his surprise, the final Monster Nest itself also gave experience—and just as much as a boss, a full billion EXP per nest. He made a quick calculation. Once I clear out this last wave of Monster Nests, my level might just shoot up again...

Amid the system notifications and the cheers of the players, Shen Fei teleported away again. As he continued to teleport and destroy Monster Nests, he examined the other item he received in addition to experience.

The moment he saw it, Shen Fei instantly recognized its purpose. Monster Nests weren’t limited to the kind he was currently destroying—the ones that had started actively spawning monster tides after the full implementation of Version 4.1. There was another type, created from items that Shen Fei possessed which could be instantly deployed to artificially create them. This Energy Block was clearly meant to be used with those player-deployed nests.

Thanks to the full rollout of Version 4.2, all of Shen Fei’s items were now usable. Therefore, the few "Source of the Monster Nest" items in his inventory could be deployed immediately and upgraded with these Energy Blocks.

However, Shen Fei wasn’t in any hurry. Player-deployed Monster Nests were most effective near Neutral Cities, and the full details of the rules governing them in Version 4.3 were still a few hours from being released.

No need to rush it. I’ll wait until after the Version 4.3 update to see the specifics...

Now that he understood the purpose of the Monster Nest Energy Blocks, Shen Fei wasted no more time and quickened his pace of teleportation.

One after another, the Monster Nests were quickly obliterated, and his experience points and Energy Blocks piled up at a dizzying rate.

Half an hour later, Shen Fei once again stood on the city walls of Songhai’s [Ye City].

"You’re sure?" he asked the director of the Songhai Tourism Management Office and Zhao Li’s girlfriend, who was acting as a representative.

"We’re sure!" the representative answered with firm conviction. "Since Qing City, the Divine Capital, Yang City, and West-Townning City haven’t destroyed their Monster Nests, Songhai won’t destroy ours either!"

Although they had already experienced the intensity of the monster tides—and Songhai was in a particularly unique situation with three additional aquatic ones nearby—they stood firm. Without powerful players like Shen Fei and Zhao Li, they would have had absolutely no chance of holding back the tides. But while Shen Fei was zipping across the country destroying Monster Nests, the director of the Songhai Tourism Management Office and the upper echelons of the [Immortal Court] had already discussed the matter. Their decision was to keep the Monster Nests.

Their reasoning was twofold. Not only had Shen Fei’s home base, Qing City, kept all its nests, with the other Neutral Cities following suit, but more importantly, they were absolutely certain that their Immortal Emperor, Zhao Li, would return from his forced mission. This certainty stemmed from their knowledge that "Unyielding," a player from Qing City and Shen Fei’s father, was on the same forced mission as Zhao Li. Despite his father’s "disappearance," Shen Fei hadn’t shown the slightest bit of worry. This led the people of Songhai, despite being completely in the dark, to feel sure that the five participants in the forced mission would be fine.

Therefore, confident that Zhao Li would return, they too decided to keep their Monster Nests. Besides, if all the other Neutral Cities kept their Monster Nests and only Songhai cleared them, their prestige would take a massive hit. And anyway, in the worst-case scenario where Zhao Li didn’t return anytime soon and the monster tides erupted again... well, they still had Brother Chongtian, didn’t they?

"Alright!" After hearing their response, Shen Fei nodded in agreement. "Then that’s settled. With the Teleportation Array, you have nothing to fear."

Standing on the walls of Songhai, Shen Fei watched the countdown timer for the nearby Monster Nest. It had 10 billion health and 10 minutes left until it could be attacked.

Basically, all the settlements’ Monster Nests have been dealt with! But the ones near the Neutral Cities are all still standing...
