Chapter 1511: Buying Flowers
Si Jia took out the chocolate and gave it to Tingting.
"Sister Tingting, I brought this chocolate for you."
"Si Jia, let’s split it half and half." Tingting also particularly loves sweets.
"Aunt Yang, sister, stay for lunch and taste my cooking." Jiang Feifei said with a smile.
"Feifei, you can cook?"
"Yes, but I don’t cook often."
"Alright, let’s cook together, I’m pretty skilled."
Finally, the three of them entered the kitchen together.
"I guess my mom wants to steam buns, but let’s have baked pastries today."
"How about winter melon and dried shrimp soup?" Yang Yujie looked at the ingredients in the kitchen and asked, "Feifei, do we have dried shrimp at home?"
"Yes, I’ll go find it."
Tao Yanzhen also laughed and said, "Let’s make some vinegar potato strips."
When Jiang Xinyu returned, the three of them were busy cooking in the kitchen.
"Haha, I’m just eating what you’ve cooked."
"Aunt Wei, wait to taste my cooking."
"Alright, I’ll make some scrambled eggs and slice some sausages."
Shang Zhenkun drank a sip of winter melon shrimp soup, smiled, and nodded, "Not bad, it’s really good."
Yang Yujie was praised and grinned with joy.
"Sister-in-law, isn’t Brother Wei coming back?"
"He’s at the factory. It’s fine for him just to eat at the cafeteria."
"Sister-in-law, are you going there in the afternoon?"
"Why? Is there something wrong?"
"I have some questions I don’t understand."
"Then I won’t go. What about you, Yujie? Don’t tell me you understand everything."
"Aunt Wei, I also have plenty of questions I can’t answer." Yang Yujie said reluctantly, originally planning to buy flowers in the afternoon.
"Mom, my sister is taking me to buy flowers this afternoon."
"Is it far?"
"Aunt Wei, it’s not far. Just about half an hour by bike."
"Alright then, Shi Jing Jianbin Zhenyu will join you."
The four little ones eagerly looked at Jiang Xinyu.
"You all going will be a hassle. Wait until the flowers are bought, then schedule a time to go play together later."
The four of them looked a bit disheartened but didn’t say anything else.
"Aunt Wei, Feifei wants to learn the piano, but I don’t see anywhere selling them."
"Hmm, ask your Uncle Han for help."
"Haha, my Uncle Wei, Uncle Han, and Uncle Yang, as long as Feifei wants it, will definitely find a way to get it for her.
The piano teacher I had was really good, though I didn’t turn out well. I’ll introduce them to Feifei."
Jiang Xinyu nodded. That would be even better.
"Mom, I want to learn too." Tingting said with a smile.
"Great, you two can learn together. And of course, Shi Jing, you three can also learn, no problem at all."
Shi Jing was indifferent, knowing that the piano isn’t limited to girls only, and it doesn’t hurt to try something new.
Jianbin thought similarly, but Shi Xian was reluctant. Still, seeing his two brothers not objecting, he wisely kept quiet.
After lunch, Tingting took Si Jia to her room to rest. Shi Xian and Shihao left together.
The remaining few began studying. Jiang Xinyu patiently explained things Tao Yanzhen didn’t understand.
Feifei didn’t find these questions particularly difficult. Still, she listened attentively, broadening her approach, and understanding others’ problem-solving insights.
It wasn’t until three in the afternoon that Feifei and her group set off, as it would’ve been too hot otherwise.
Tao Yanzhen stayed home to work on questions herself.
Actually, Jiang Xinyu was quite exhausted, not having had any breaks all morning, nor rested after returning. So she lay down to read for a while.
The four youngsters listened to Shang Zhenkun narrate stories. They were pretty well-behaved.
Feifei and the group arrived, and Feifei was amazed by the beautiful yard full of flowers.
"How is it?"
"Sister, I love them all. There’s so much space at home for planting, let’s place a bigger order."
"But not too much. I heard some classmate’s family getting in trouble, all because they loved flowers and filled up their yard."
"Then let’s not buy ones that bloom."
Eventually, people saw their large order mostly of big green plants, took payment, and agreed to deliver them.
"Master, do these flowers need fertilizer? Sell us some too."
"I mix my own fertilizers; you can take a bag for two dollars."
The person rode a tricycle, while Jiang Feifei followed beside, patiently asking about flower care.
"In winter, no need to move the flowers inside. Just brush the trunks with lime water and wrap with straw."
They got home by six. Jiang Xinyu made hand-pulled noodles, with tomato egg sauce, pickled diced meat, and meat sauce.
The master was kindly involved, genuinely passionate about flowers.
Invited to dinner, the master declined but promised Feifei could come for flower seeds.
Feifei also ordered many rose bushes. Couldn’t have no flowers at all, right?
Han Xiangjun and Wei Kaiyun returned too, Jiang Xinyu prepared enough noodles otherwise it wouldn’t have sufficed.
After dinner, Yujie and others reluctantly left but promised to return the next day.
"Old Han, help get a piano." Jiang Xinyu said.
"Sure, does our little princess want to learn? I’ll find a teacher."
"Yu Jie said her former piano teacher was great, and will introduce them to me."
"That works."
After eating, the father and son went home. Jianbin initially didn’t want to leave after living with them for over a decade, but couldn’t resist his sympathetic dad and tagged along home.
After some loving moments, Wei Kaiyun fanned Jiang Xinyu. "Ah Bao and the others are coming over tomorrow."
"Mm." Jiang Xinyu half-asleep responded.
Before breakfast the next day, Ah Bao and Er Bao came over.
Old Yang had no choice; the two didn’t want to stay at home for even a minute. He hadn’t been home yesterday, or they would’ve come then.
Wu Hong left, so Shang Zhenkun watched them practice.
Actually, Shi Xian excelled the most, followed by Feifei. They indeed had talent.
Jianbin arrived shortly after.
After the meal, the kids went about their activities, while three adults went to work.
Yang Yujie and Zhenyu arrived after breakfast and found it a decent learning setup.
At noon, the girls were in the kitchen, "Feifei, my brother is in T City. Shall we go play for a few days? There’s a beach and lots of snacks. My brother said the meat buns and twisted bread are especially tasty."
Jiang Feifei shook her head, "Not going. On such hot days I’d rather stay home; I don’t want to go anywhere."
"Feifei, you find the heat annoying, the cold bothersome, you’re really hard to please, aren’t you?" Yang Yujie joked.
