Around noon, everyone decided to take a break. They gathered wood and started a fire.

"Uncle Wei, if it weren’t so cold, we could have a barbecue here."

"Sis, you really know how to enjoy life."

"Right? I thought so too."

Everyone drank some hot water before continuing their journey.

"Dad, there’s nothing good left in the mountain, is there?"

"If we walk another hour ahead, we haven’t been there yet."

We’ve been stuck in the brewery for the past two years, no time to come over.

"Uncle Wei, I still remember that time when you caught so many wild boars, do you think we’ll have a chance today?" Jianbin said with a smile.

He’s now a fifteen-year-old teenager, and according to Feifei, he’s a sophisticated rascal. Looks better than Uncle Han, with a scholarly aura, but those who grew up with him know his personality isn’t like that.

They say one’s appearance is born from the heart, but that’s not the case at all with Jianbin.

Feifei feels a mother’s comfort, but if Jianbin knew, he’d definitely chase Feifei down for a beating.

Old Yang waved his hand, and a few people heard a noise too. They carefully approached and saw two wild boars battling it out.

They were satisfied, not because they wanted the meat, but because of an inner persistence to hunt wild boar.

They gathered together. "Do you want to try your skills?"

The boys nodded excitedly.

Wei Kaiyun said seriously, "Uncle Yang and I will watch from the side, you guys work it out yourselves."

They nodded with smiles. Shi Xian wanted to join too, but Wu Hong held him back and shook her head firmly.

Shi Xian deflated like a balloon and stood to the side listlessly.

The older ones had already made a plan. They slowly approached, but with only four of them, it depended on their tactics.

Feifei watched with a bit of worry; these were two adult wild boars, and just the four of them, it seemed impossible. So she stayed on the sidelines carefully ready.

Yang Yujie stood quietly to the side too, understanding the seriousness of the situation.

The two wild boars noticed them but didn’t stop fighting.

The four of them sighed in relief. This was the best scenario, avoiding great danger.

The knives in their hands were forged by Lu Tiezhu, not cutting through iron like mud, but certainly better than ordinary knives.

The four took positions in four directions, with Feifei and her group each standing in one direction.

Yang Yujie held Shi Xian’s hand, feeling extremely nervous. Her palms were sweaty.

Shi Xian resented this Sister Yang; he wished he were bigger, so he could help out. But he remained vigilant.

Feifei stood in the same direction as her brother, with Wei Kaiyun behind Zhenyu, Old Yang behind Xiao Qiang, and Wu Hong protecting Jianbin.

The boars fought fiercely, and this was definitely not the time to intervene. It’s best that they ignored us, so we could reap the benefits.

About ten minutes later, the boars slowed considerably.

Jianbin signaled, and the four of them charged in, Xiao Qiang and Shi Jing tackling one boar.

Thanks to their knives, they could cut through even the tough hide of a wild boar.

They worked at the brewery every day, so they were strong.

At this point, the boars stopped fighting each other.

Gradually, they split up. Two on one boar.

Still, it was tough; they lacked actual combat experience. Though the boars slowed, so did they.

Jiang Feifei watched from the side. This wouldn’t work; they couldn’t outlast the boars.

She rushed in too, easing the pressure on Shi Jing and Xiao Qiang significantly.

Yang Yujie observed from the side, "Xian, did your sister become a warrior princess just like that?"

"Sister Yang, even my big brother isn’t a match for my sister. It’s not because my brother lets her win; he’s genuinely not a match."

Old Yang stood ready on the side, prepared to step in if needed.

Wei Kaiyun remained still, but Wu Hong joined in, making it easier.

Shi Jing and Feifei exchanged a look, and their attack strategy immediately shifted.

After fifteen minutes, the wild boars grudgingly collapsed.

Xiao Qiang ended it with a final strike. The fight on their side was over, and they turned to watch Jianbin and Zhenyu’s battle.

Five minutes later, they were victorious too.

Zhenyu looked pale, now realizing his shortcomings.

"Uncle Yang, Uncle Wei, I’m so far behind."

"You’ll need to work twice as hard every day moving forward." Wei Kaiyun patted the young man’s shoulder in comfort. He was indeed the weakest.

Shi Xian and Yang Yujie ran over. The little guy grabbed Wu Hong’s hand, "Master Wu, I think I can do it too."

"Work hard this year, impress me, and I’ll give you a chance next year."

"Master Wu, I promise."

The two wild boars weighed over a thousand pounds together. They needed to get them back right away, marking the end of this hunt.

Old Yang and Wei Kaiyun worked swiftly, securing two wooden sleds.

Such work didn’t fall on Wei Kaiyun’s daughter; the four young men were the main laborers.

The climb up took over three hours, the descent took four.

Though the snow wasn’t heavy, they saved effort dragging the sleds.

They arrived home just after five; it was already dark.

Villagers noticed their return with two wild boars in tow.

In the past, they might have been envious, perhaps bitter, but now they were simply admiring. After all, even if they went up the mountain, they couldn’t bring them back and might even get injured.

Jiang Xinyu had been worried at home; they’d been out all day.

Hearing the commotion, she saw the kids returning sweaty.

The two massive wild boars were placed directly in the yard.

"Hurry inside and change your clothes."

The house was buzzing with activity. Shi Xian recounted the day’s hike to Shang Zhenkun.

They all went inside to change clothes. Ah Bao trailed by Hongpeng and the others.

The little kids circled the wild boars, exclaiming in awe.

Ah Bao hadn’t joined today and felt down all day; seeing the wild game worsened his mood.

He ran inside, prompting Old Yang to release his wife immediately.

"Dad, I want to go too, I really do."

"We’ll take you next year."

"Really?"

"Yes."

Ah Bao felt satisfied now, but Er Bao was unhappy, looking at Old Yang with hopeful eyes.

"Son, when you’re older, you can join too."

Hongpeng and Zhibin’s eyes turned red, but they knew they weren’t ready; their skills were nothing more than tricks.

"Uncle, I’ve decided to come here daily to train with the uncles."

Hongpeng nodded, "Right, we’ll come every day."

Tingting and Tongtong peeked out, then ran back inside, finding it too terrifying.
