Chapter 1472: Aggrieved
"Jing Chu, I was set up."
Lv Jingchu watched Li Chaoyang sobbing and felt unbearably distressed inside.
"Chaoyang, just tell me—did you sleep with her or not?"
Chaoyang stopped sobbing. He squatted on the floor, clutching his head. He didn’t even know himself.
"Chaoyang, since it’s like this, what’s the point of talking anymore. Let’s go back together tomorrow."
"Jing Chu, I was wrong. Give me one more chance, okay?"
"Chaoyang, what kind of chance are you talking about? You still want me to keep living with you? Do you think that’s possible? Do you think we can go back to how we were? Forget me—what about you, can you? Can you?"
Chaoyang wanted to say he could. But he knew clearly in his heart that once something like this has happened, there’s no way there won’t be any crack at all. The two of them really couldn’t go back to the past.
Right now Chaoyang’s heart was full of hatred toward Cao Yulian. He had never hated anyone like this before. Ha, and now she even said she was pregnant—well, that made things easier.
"Jing Chu, give me a few days. Let me deal with this first."
"Chaoyang, dragging it out like this is meaningless. You know what I’m like."
Chaoyang was unusually calm now. "Jing Chu, I know. I, Li Chaoyang, swear: whatever you ask of me in the future, I’ll agree. But I’m still a man. I may be useless, but I won’t let other people toy with me."
Jing Chu laughed, and there was a lot contained in that smile, but she didn’t stop him.
Chaoyang walked out of the office and saw Han Xiangjun.
"Master Han, I’m going out for a bit."
"What are you planning to do? And whatever you do, think about the fact that you still have your parents, and you still have Jing Chu."
"Master Han, I don’t have Jing Chu anymore. She’s going back to divorce me. I’ve lost her." Chaoyang yelled hysterically.
Han Xiangjun looked at the slightly deranged Chaoyang and grabbed him, dragging him into his own office.
"Chaoyang, what exactly are you planning?"
"I just want to see what proof that disgusting woman has that we’ve been together.
Her family may be powerful, but she’s still a woman—she cares about her reputation, doesn’t she?"
Han Xiangjun understood what Chaoyang meant. "If you do that, you’ll be done for too."
Chaoyang let out a miserable laugh. "Master Han, what else can I be in the future? Without Jing Chu, what do I have left?"
"Chaoyang, just wait a bit. Your master is definitely going to call today—listen to what he has to say.
Remember, whatever happens, don’t act on impulse. Calm down. Maybe there’ll be another way. Acting rashly will only make you do something you’ll regret for the rest of your life."
Chaoyang just sat there with his head down, every negative emotion surging up. All he could think now was that he had to see that woman utterly ruined, begging to live but unable to die. This was hatred down to the bone.
Jing Chu went back to the dorm, shut the door directly, crawled into bed, pulled the covers over herself and finally cried.
Why did she have to encounter something like this? What kind of person Chaoyang was—of course she knew, and she did trust him.
But the two of them really couldn’t go back to how they were. Even if they lived together from now on, they’d both be walking on eggshells, and the conflicts would only get worse and worse.
It was Jiang Xinyu who came to find Wei Kaiyun. "Old Han called. He wants us to go into the city and call him from there."
"He wants the two of us?"
"Yeah." Jiang Xinyu nodded.
"Something must have happened. Let’s go."
The couple drove off. By the time they reached their place in the city, two hours had already passed.
Han Xiangjun picked up the phone. "Xiao Wei, Xiao Jiang, listen in on the side too."
Jiang Xinyu leaned in as well. Han Xiangjun went over what had happened once.
Jiang Xinyu snatched the receiver. "Where’s Jing Chu?"
"She went back to the dorm."
"Old Han, have Chaoyang pick up, and you go get Jing Chu to take the call."
"Okay."
Chaoyang took the phone. His voice was hoarse as he called out "Master," and the tears started falling again. He had never been humiliated like this before.
"Enough. Take this knock as a lesson learned."
"Master, Jing Chu doesn’t want me anymore."
Wei Kaiyun didn’t know what to say either. He knew what that girl Jing Chu was like—stubborn to the core. "In a bit, your Teacher Jiang will talk to her."
Jiang Xinyu was fuming on the side. "Chaoyang, how could you be so careless?"

Wei Kaiyun patted his wife’s shoulder. "Chaoyang, what are you planning to do?"
"Master, I can’t just swallow this. That woman even told me just now that she’s pregnant. We were together, at most, for a month—how could that child be mine? Even if it is mine, I don’t want it."
Wei Kaiyun and Jiang Xinyu both didn’t know what to say.
Chaoyang told Wei Kaiyun the plan he had in mind.
Wei Kaiyun pondered for a moment. "Chaoyang, what you’re talking about is hurting the enemy by a thousand while hurting yourself by eight hundred. I don’t agree with you doing that. We still have to live our lives openly and uprightly in the future, so you can’t go that route."
"Master, Master, I can’t swallow this. I don’t even feel like staying alive anymore. You think I still care about the future?"
"Don’t talk nonsense. You still have your parents. Think about them. Are you doing right by them if you act like this?"
Chaoyang clutched the receiver and cried. He’d rarely cried since he was little. This time he really couldn’t hold it back.
Han Xiangjun knocked on the door, but there was no movement inside. He got scared. Then he started pounding harder. "Jing Chu, your Aunt Jiang is calling you."
But there was still no sound from inside. He threw himself against the door a couple times and forced it open, and saw a lump under the quilt on the kang bed.
Han Xiangjun jumped, then rushed over and yanked the covers back, seeing that beautiful girl curled up in a ball, her pillow already soaked with tears.
"Jing Chu, Jing Chu. Get up, your Aunt Jiang is calling you." What a damned mess. That Cao Yulian really wasn’t human. Such vile tricks she’d used.
Jing Chu groggily opened her eyes, looked at Han Xiangjun who was staring at her in worry, tugged at the corner of her mouth and sat up. "Uncle Han, I’m fine."
"I called you just now and you didn’t answer. I got scared. Come on, get up, your Aunt Jiang is on the phone."
"Uncle Han, you shouldn’t have let them find out."
"They’d have to find out sooner or later anyway." Jing Chu sat up and got out of bed, then suddenly toppled over.
Han Xiangjun got a fright and grabbed her in his arms. "Jing Chu, what’s wrong with you?"
"I’m fine, just a little dizzy."
Han Xiangjun let go of the struggling Lv Jingchu. This girl was way too light.
Looking at the door he’d smashed open, Jing Chu was speechless. But inside, she was a little moved—this was genuine concern for her.
Han Xiangjun, still uneasy, followed behind Jing Chu. "I don’t want to go to your office. I’ll go back to my room and call Aunt Jiang." Jing Chu had heard Chaoyang’s voice. Right now she really didn’t want to see him.
"Okay, I’ll go tell them."
Han Xiangjun went back to the office and listened on the side as Chaoyang talked with Wei Kaiyun. He more or less understood what they were planning.
"Xiao Wei, Jing Chu will call you guys in a bit."
