Tong Yan hesitated whether to make the rescue. The girl being held hostage cried pathetically, her tears falling like raindrops on blossoms, clearly terrified. If there were no guns, she could definitely handle it alone, but the key issue was they had guns.

No matter how skilled she was, she couldn’t match the speed of a bullet.

She was kind, but not a saint, and after all, if one doesn’t act for oneself, heaven and earth obliterate them.

The criminals’ issues could be handled by the police.

Tong Yan turned her head, steeled her resolve, turned around, took a few steps back, and prepared to let them pass.

As it turned out, the thug on the side, perhaps seeing her dressed so elegantly and appearing wealthy, pointed a gun at Tong Yan, "Come over!"

Tong Yan was stunned and blurted, "What?"

The thug impatiently said, "Do you want me to shoot? Don’t care for your life? If you want to live, come with me."

Tong Yan: ...

What did she do to deserve this trouble while just standing there?

"Hold on."

Bo Yimo spoke calmly, but if you looked closely, there was cold determination across his features, as if with an icy killing intent.

The thug viciously said, "Do you want to die?"

"I’ll trade places with her."

Someone actually wanted to volunteer to become a hostage?

Was there some conspiracy?

The thugs hesitated. Who wasn’t afraid to die? Here was someone rushing to throw their life away—something was clearly off.

A cold glint flashed in Bo Yimo’s eyes as he elegantly articulated, "She is my wife. I love her more than life itself."

The thugs exchanged glances, and the leading thug instructed his two underlings, "Idiots, take them both."

Thus, the thugs held them at gunpoint and ran forward.

The police chasing behind were confused. Rescuing one hostage was already tough; now there were two more. How were they supposed to pull off a rescue?

The three ahead were seasoned criminals, desperate and ruthless. Hostages in their hands had almost no chance of survival. Although they’d been trying to save the girl, they knew in their hearts she couldn’t be saved.

And now, there were two more.

If all three were killed, it would certainly become a major case. The government and citizens wouldn’t stand by, and the crucial thing was that these two didn’t appear to be from M Country, which meant international disputes were involved.

Their jobs might be on the line.

With this realization, they were terrified and ran even faster, hoping to catch up with them, risking everything to save the hostages. They wanted to fire their guns, but the criminals kept moving, making it very difficult to avoid accidentally harming the hostages, hence they hadn’t fired.

The thugs, seeing the police getting closer, grew more impatient, "Hurry, stop talking."

One of the thugs pointed his gun at Tong Yan, urging her to move quickly.

"I don’t like you pointing a gun at her," Bo Yimo said, his eyes icy, terrifyingly so as if they were laced with frost.

Just as the words fell, Bo Yimo moved like lightning, swiftly stepping forward, chopping down on the thug’s arm with one hand. The thug’s arm went numb, and the gun in his hand dropped to the ground.

Bo Yimo bent down, caught the falling gun in mid-air, and turned swiftly to fire a shot at each of the other two thugs’ arms. His shooting was exceptionally accurate, clean, and decisive, with a strikingly precise and cold demeanor, especially in the way he held the gun.

The entire sequence of movements was completed within seconds, and by the time everyone reacted, it seemed the ordeal was over.

The thugs were injured, the hostages rescued, and everyone was unharmed. It truly was a happy ending.
