Everything—absolutely everything—had happened thanks to Nan Yu.

They decided that as long as this guild continued to exist, even if the guild leader eventually left it himself, they would carry on in Nan Yu's place and keep the guild alive.

Nan Yu had no idea what they were thinking. Right now, he was staring at a private message from someone named Gale Blows, unsure what kind of expression he should make.

He had never seen this username before, but he clearly remembered the note attached to it.

Marshal!

He suddenly had the urge to cover his face. Was the Marshal serious? He had changed his name... to Gale Blows?

Nan Yu gradually collected himself and opened the message.

Gale Blows: "Coming?"

Nan Yu's mind filled with question marks. Coming for what?

From South to North: "Another test?"

Gale Blows: "Personal matter."

From South to North: "Oh, okay. Where?"

Gale Blows sent him a set of coordinates.

Nan Yu stood up and said to Yang Zhou, "Go ahead and keep playing for a while. I've got something I need to take care of. You know... I can't turn it down."

Yang Zhou knew about the contract Nan Yu had signed with Marshal Yu, so he didn't ask any further questions. Whatever Nan Yu was going to do was definitely confidential. Even if he asked, Nan Yu wouldn't tell him.

Besides, they had both received an education at the Royal Military Academy of the Capital Star. They knew perfectly well which things could be asked and which absolutely could not.

Nan Yu turned and left, heading toward the designated coordinates. Along the way he used two teleportation arrays before finally reaching the location.

From a distance, he spotted the game character named Gale Blows and couldn't help twitching the corner of his mouth.

"I'm here."

This was the same place where he had previously come for testing, but this time was different.

They were standing at the very front of the deck of a massive space carrier.

The data here had obviously been modified. Otherwise, even in a game, it would have been impossible to stand here without any equipment.

Yu Lanfeng turned to look at him.

Being stared at like that made Nan Yu feel a little embarrassed.

"What is it?" he asked quietly.

Yu Lanfeng shook his head without saying anything.

After thinking for a moment, Nan Yu still held out his hand.

Yu Lanfeng took it, gently pulling him over to stand at his side. The two of them stood shoulder to shoulder, gazing ahead.

"Come to think of it... the starry sky here is really beautiful."

Those Ability Beasts capable of constantly traveling through the vacuum of space, however, were absolutely disgusting.

Fortunately, there were only very few of them, and they could only travel by themselves. They couldn't carry other mutated beasts across the universe. On top of that, while they possessed enormous health and incredibly high defenses, their combat power was actually quite weak.

As a result, they had never caused particularly serious damage.

Every year, though, they would randomly appear in many different places. Thankfully, all of those locations were along the Empire's borders.

Although these Ability Beasts could move through the vacuum of space, they still had to replenish themselves on living planets at regular intervals. Otherwise, they would eventually die drifting through the endless universe.

That was also why, although these mutated beasts could silently slip through the border defense lines, they would always be discovered before they managed to travel very far.

Even so, the Empire continued improving its detection systems for these Ability Beasts, striving to ensure that not a single mutated beast would ever go unnoticed.

After standing there for a while, Nan Yu finally asked,

"By the way, what exactly did you call me here for?"

Yu Lanfeng shook his head.

"I just wanted you to see this starry sky."

"This is an enormous battlefield. This area alone is roughly the size of ten star sectors. There is only one faction here—the Human Faction."

"Every player who enters this large-scale instance can only choose to join the Human Faction, and then form their own corps within it."

No one knew how long it would take before this so-called Human Faction truly became organized.

At the beginning, it would definitely be complete chaos...

Nan Yu shook his head.

There was no point thinking about that now. He could worry about it later.

"So... this is what you wanted to tell me?"

For once, Yu Lanfeng remained silent for an unusually long time.

About two minutes later, Nan Yu suddenly seemed to realize something. He slowly raised his head to look at the star-filled sky before turning back to him in astonishment.

"You... Marshal... don't tell me you..."

Before he could finish speaking, the Marshal's game avatar beside him disappeared.

Had he... logged out?

Nan Yu suddenly burst into laughter.

"Ahahahahaha..."

He had never imagined that the Marshal could have such an adorable side.

He must have gotten embarrassed.

He had to be embarrassed.

He wondered what kind of expression the Marshal would wear the next time they met.

Hehe...

Now he was actually looking forward to their next meeting.

But just as he turned around, he saw Yu Lanfeng standing directly behind him.

Nan Yu: "..."

Yu Lanfeng: "You seem to be laughing pretty happily."

Nan Yu immediately shook his head, indicating that he wasn't.

Yu Lanfeng asked, "Did I hear wrong just now?"

"Yeah," Nan Yu answered without hesitation. "You heard wrong."

Yu Lanfeng beckoned to him.

"Come here."

"Uh... okay... What are you planning to do to me?"

Yu Lanfeng took hold of his wrist and led him back the way they had come.

Nan Yu didn't even pay attention to where they were going.

Instead, he simply looked at the hand holding his wrist.

Maybe...

Sometimes, quietly following along like this wasn't so bad after all.
