Chapter 47: Owe Me A Chance

Gu Linyuan passed on Fang Xinxin’s exact instructions to his son. He then returned the phone to her and said sincerely, “Thank you for your help.”

“I’ve accepted your payment. This is what I should be doing.” Fang Xinxin placed her phone in her pocket.

At this moment, a chorus of hurried and firm footsteps could be heard in the hallway. With a loud noise, the hospital door next to theirs was kicked open.

Fang Xinxin stood up and approached the corridor. She saw that Liu Li was standing outside the room adjacent to theirs.

Fang Manxue’s voice could be heard from inside the room. “Why isn’t Fang Xinxin here? Is she hiding in the toilet? I’m going to go look for her!”

“Where is she?” Bai Qinghao’s cold and sombre voice could also be heard.

“CEO Bai, who are you looking for?” Bai Chenxi asked politely.

Fang Manxue responded with a smirk. “Who else could it be? Of course we’re looking for Fang Xinxin.”

“Fang Xinxin didn’t come by…” Bai Chenxi tried to explain.

Fang Manxue immediately cut him off. “Bai Chenxi, don’t bother lying on Fang Xinxin’s behalf. You’re being discharged today. My third sister is in love with you to the point of obsession. How could she possibly not come to pick you up? Besides, I clearly watched as she took the elevator to come up to the third floor. She’s been here for a long time. I waited downstairs but she never came back down.”

Bai Qinghao’s cold voice barely concealed his anger. “Fang Manxue, who told you that Fang Xinxin is in love with Bai Chenxi to the point of obsession?”

“Of course it was Fang Xinxin herself…” Fang Manxue spoke naturally as though that was to be expected.

“Oh?” Fang Xinxin approached Bai Chenxi’s hospital room.

In a calm voice, she said, “Second Sister, why don’t I ever recall telling you that? Each time you open your mouth, you’re full of nonsense. Did you eat shit on your way here? Why does your mouth stink so much?”

Hearing this, Fang Manxue’s face contorted with anger. She wanted to refute her but paused. Instead, she pointed at Fang Xinxin in excitement. “CEO Bai, look, she’s here! I didn’t lie to you.”

Bai Chenxi was fully convinced that Fang Xinxin would come, but still pretended to be surprised. “Fang… Xinxin, you shouldn’t have come.”

Hearing his words, one would naturally assume she was here for him.

Bai Qinghao’s expression darkened. He gritted his teeth. “Fang Xinxin, how could you let me down like this?”

“When have I ever let you down?” Fang Xinxin also started to look angry.

“How do you have the face to ask such a thing?” Fang Manxue immediately began reprimanding her. “Third Sister, CEO Bai treats you so well. How could you meet up with Bai Chenxi behind his back!”

Fang Xinxin entered the room and delivered a firm slap to Fang Manxue’s face.

“Pa!”

The slap resounded loudly in the room.

“Ah! You actually dared to hit me.” Fang Manxue held her cheek as she glared harshly at Fang Xinxin. She almost charged ahead to beat her up. However, her gaze flickered toward Bai Qinghao and she changed her mind.

Instead, she began crying in an aggrieved manner. “CEO Bai, Xinxin is always like this. She’s barbaric and unreasonable. Even though I’m her older sister, she is always bullying me. I didn’t want to play the role of a bad guy here, but I really could not stand watching her betray you…”

Liu Li could not watch this any further. He spoke up on behalf of Fang Manxue as well. “Boss, Fang Xinxin is really too much!”

Fang Xinxin had long seen through her sister’s true nature and was completely unaffected by her reprimands.

She turned towards Bai Qinghao. “You! You owe me a chance to explain my side of the story.”

It seemed that both of them still had a long road ahead of them.

Although there had never been any trust between them, with time, they could change this.

In her previous life, she had been blinded and paralysed. Yet, Bai Qinghao remained devoted to her and even sacrificed his life for her.

Hence, in this life, she would not give up on him.
