Chapter 52 - The Bai And Gu Family's Friendship
Chapter 52: The Bai And Gu Family’s Friendship
Gu Linyuan did not mention their 4,50,000 USD deal in front of Bai Qinghao. Since Director Gu did not bring it up, Fang Xinxin also kept silent about it.
Sitting in the car, Bai Qinghao said expressionlessly, “My grandfather and Elder Gu were sworn brothers. Ever since the two of them passed away, my father barely interacted with Gu Linyuan. Right now, our families are considered to be near strangers. However, considering the two elder’s friendship, I won’t stand on the side and watch when I can help.”
Fang Xinxin knew that Gu Linyuan had been in the business world for more than half his life. He must have offended countless people. Wang Yihai and Feng Yuwen were not the only ones who would target him. “With your bodyguards, Director Gu will definitely be fine.”
However, for her, after rescuing Gu Linyuan and giving him the information that he needed, she had already fulfilled her end of the deal.
As they drove past a stock exchange building, Fang Xinxin asked him. “Can we stop the car here for a while?”
Liu Li glanced at his commander through the rearview mirror.
Bai Qinghao nodded and Liu Li responded by stopping the car by the roadside.
Fang Xinxin alighted and headed for the building’s lobby. She returned ten minutes later and told him. “I went to open a few accounts.”
A hint of surprise flashed past Bai Qinghao’s ink-black pupils. “You’re interested in investing in stocks?”
“En.” She nodded.
She was well-versed and experienced enough in the dealing of the financial market.
In her previous life, Bai Qinghao often kept her restrained in the Yu Ting Villa. In order to pass time, she started to read up on stocks and eventually managed to earn tenfold of what she had invested.
Unfortunately, she made a mistake at that time and bought the wrong stocks, losing nearly ninety percent of what she earned.
Afterwards, she started from scratch again…
In conclusion, she had been depressed by her meagre resources and chose to invest, whatever money she had, in the stocks market.
She had experienced the entire cycle, soaring and drowning repeatedly many times. It was not much different from going through life and death over and over again.
At the time, Bai Qinghao did try to give her some money. However, she always returned it, claiming that he was trying to buy her over by doing that.
Once, Bai Qinghao even forcefully handed her eight million dollars.
However, she made an extremely stupid choice. Bai Chenxi had come over and told her that his company was struggling financially. As a result, she lent him the entire sum to help him tide over.
But when Bai Chenxi’s company recovered, he did not return even a single cent to her.
At the thought of her idiocy in the past, she really wished she could use a brick to break her head open.
She stared at Bai Qinghao, who seemed lost in his thoughts.
In this life, aside from collecting payment from everyone who owed her debts, she had sworn to love him properly.
After a moment, Bai Qinghao returned her warm and open gaze. His heart was akin to a lake that had been frozen for thousands of years. It rippled ever so slightly.
Wasn’t this the first time she was properly looking at him?
And with the way she was looking at him, he could not help but misunderstand that he had a place in her heart.
“Cough!” Liu Li cleared his throat as he parked the car. “Boss, Miss Fang, we’ve arrived at the Yu Ting Villa.”
Originally, he really did not want to interrupt their passionate exchange of gaze.
However, his boss was as handsome as a god, while Fattie Fang was obese, ugly and covered in a frightening amount of acne.
The image they presented was really really weird.
Someone like her did not deserve to even hold the CEO’s shoes. He really did not want his heroic and outstanding boss to fall too deeply for her.
“Oh… all right.” Fang Xinxin opened the car door and alighted.
Bai Qinghao’s cold, sharp gaze landed on Liu Li. “Next time, keep your mouth shut when you’re not supposed to speak.”
