Chapter 1757 - 1759: How Unreliable
Li Chuntao stood up, shot a glare at Yang Dong, and then left the tea house!
Yang Dong hurried to follow, only to be intimidated by Li Chuntao, "Don’t follow me, if you keep following, I’ll call for help!"
Yang Dong had no choice but to stand there, watching helplessly as Li Chuntao left.
As soon as she stepped out of the tea house, Chuntao’s third brother came up to her, "Little sis, what happened? I just came out, and that kid from the Chang Family chased after us and said to the matchmaker to forget the marriage arrangement? If anyone’s going to call it off, it should be us doing it first!"
Chuntao’s third brother thought that if the other party was the first to call off the marriage, it meant they didn’t fancy his sister. Clearly, they were the ones who first proposed, and now this was making his sister lose face.
His sister is clearly so outstanding!
Even though they actually had the same intention originally, being rejected by the other party first just didn’t sit right.
Li Chuntao didn’t say much, she simply said, "Third brother, let’s just go back."
Seeing his sister in such a mood, surely feeling embarrassed, Chuntao’s third brother wisely didn’t ask further but did offer comfort, "Little sis, don’t be upset, we didn’t really plan to agree to this marriage anyway."
Li Chuntao wasn’t bothered by this; what she was really thinking about was what kind of person Yang Dong was!
To just come out like that so rudely and disrupt things, showing up was one thing, but to claim he was also introduced by the matchmaker for a blind date with her.
Really just lying without a flicker of shame.
Indeed, liking someone just because of their looks is so unreliable!
Thinking about it now, that guy Yang Dong’s character is really lacking.
In contrast, the man she was set up with, the one named Chang Qing, truly surprised her.
All along, he was gentle and courteous. Even when Yang Dong said they looked like father and daughter, he didn’t resort to violence.
He didn’t engage in much gossip with the matchmaker either, only pointing out that the marriage didn’t work out, proving to be a decent guy.
Little did Yang Dong know, his sudden appearance actually made Li Chuntao’s impression of him even worse. If he knew that Li Chuntao never intended to agree to the marriage in the first place, he surely wouldn’t have come over.
Feeling quite unhappy, he returned home, and upon entering the yard, heard his third sister-in-law’s voice.
"Did you bring back all the things?"
"Yep, I did, third sister-in-law, take a look!"
Xiaoxiao got into the car to check the items Yang Dong was asked to buy. Since she was going back to her parents’ home, she needed to bring some gifts, so she had Yang Dong go to town to buy them.
After checking the items, Xiaoxiao said, "Alright then, you rest for a bit, we’ll set off soon."
"Third sister-in-law, I’m not tired!"
With an eager air about him, Xiaoxiao understood so she said, "Alright, let’s go now; come in with me to get the stuff, your third brother will go too."
"Third brother is going too?"
"Yes, your third brother is tough; if he wants to exert himself, let him."
Actually, Xiaoxiao didn’t agree with Yang Ming going, his sword wound had just healed, what if the jostling reopened it?
But Yang Ming insisted on going, and said the wound definitely wouldn’t split open, even making some embarrassing jokes about other activities being unaffected.
He then promised a bunch of things, and she reluctantly agreed.
Considering the trip wasn’t far, since he managed to return from Lin County without issue, and the wound had healed, just driving slowly would be fine.
Thus, she agreed.
Yang Ming seemed surprised when the two entered, "Are we really going now?"
"Yes, let’s go now." With a look that Xiaoxiao’s fourth brother was getting impatient.
After loading everything into the car, Xiaoxiao told the family that they were heading to Stone Village.
