Neither father nor son understood the connection between the dolphin and Huo Sining, but by a twist of fate, they ended up riding on the dolphin’s back. One person, one egg, and one dolphin raced across the high seas, advancing towards Nansha Province. By the time the sun was rising on the horizon, painting the sea red, Gu Xu and his party had already eluded Country F’s patrol team and were drawing closer to Hua Country’s waters.

On the other side, the warship and maritime search-and-rescue team led by Lu Zhenghang also set out overnight, heading towards the high seas. However, neither side anticipated encountering the other in such a manner on the high seas, thus perfectly missing each other.

A Yin was not familiar with the roads of Nansha Province. Originally, Gu Xu thought this guy would lead him directly to report at Nansha Port. Instead, upon entering Hua Country’s waters, it veered off course, steering him towards the Bohai Sea without considering whether Gu Xu would be cold or hungry on its back.

Fortunately, Gu Xu had filled his stomach last night, so although he felt somewhat hungry now, he could barely hold on.

Due to this delay, by the time they truly saw land, it was already late afternoon, around four or five o’clock. Initially, Gu Xu didn’t know where he had ended up, but as they docked and he saw the unfamiliar yet familiar buildings at the seaport, he realized where he was, feeling quite surprised.

To his astonishment, the dolphin had brought him to Hongqiao Seaport in S City, explaining why they had been delayed at sea for more than ten hours.

However, arriving directly at S City wasn’t so bad. He was genuinely exhausted and just wanted to go home, take a good shower, and sleep. His wife’s villa near S University was always watched over by Auntie Li, so he could go directly there to eat and rest without further hassle.

Once ashore, Gu Xu waved goodbye to the magical dolphin and, carrying his precious egg, headed straight out of the seaport, flagging down a taxi to head directly to the Lake Heart Villa Area at S University.

The taxi driver noticed his bedraggled and wet appearance and wanted to ask what had happened, but seeing Gu Xu’s fierce gaze, he inevitably felt scared, avoiding trouble. He opened his mouth but quickly shut it again.

Gu Xu could guess what the driver wanted to ask, but he was too tired to engage. The car sped on, taking about forty minutes to reach the entrance of the Lake Heart Villa Area.

At the entrance, the taxi stopped. Gu Xu had not a penny on him, naturally unable to pay the fare.

The Lake Heart Villa Area saw only wealthy people coming and going; taxis weren’t allowed inside.

Luckily, having frequented the villa area for over a year, the guard recognized him. Seeing Gu Xu, the guard hastened forward with an enthusiastic greeting, "Mr. Gu, you’re back?"

Gu Xu originally intended to have the guard call Auntie Li at the villa to help pay the fare, but seeing the driver’s impatient expression, he decided differently, smiled at the guard, and said:

"Sir, I lost my wallet. Could you please advance the fare for me? I’ll return the money once I collect it from the villa."

The security officers here are insightful, and considering Huo Sining and Gu Xu’s marriage had once stirred the nation, there was hardly anyone unaware that high-ranking officials from the capital lived in the villa area. Hearing Gu Xu’s request, the guard secretly rejoiced and, undoubtedly, agreed, nodding promptly:

"Ah, wait a moment, I’ll fetch my wallet from inside."

With that, the guard jogged over to the adjacent duty room, retrieved a wallet, and paid the taxi fare for Gu Xu.

The taxi driver cast a perplexed glance at Gu Xu, puzzled about this man who couldn’t afford a cab fare yet commanded such respect from a security guard.

Having been an experienced driver in S City for over a decade, he wasn’t intimately familiar with S University’s vicinity but was nonetheless quite skilled and aware that those living near Lake Heart Villa were either wealthy business owners or officials. Ordinary people, even if they could afford a house there, might not have the connections.

So the driver couldn’t help but be curious about Gu Xu, though his social standing was clear; even staring at Gu Xu’s face, he might not uncover anything notable.

After the taxi departed, Gu Xu smiled at the guard, thanked him, and, ignoring the astonished gazes of others, walked solemnly into the community.

Upon reaching his villa’s doorstep, he hadn’t yet rung the bell when Auntie Li, watering flowers in the yard, spotted him and exclaimed in surprise:

"Mr. Gu, why are you back?"

While asking, she hurried to open the door.

Seeing Gu Xu’s appearance clearly, Auntie Li was stunned, urgently pulling him inside and asking worriedly:

"What happened to you? Why are you like this?"

She meant his wet, disheveled state.

Gu Xu couldn’t help but give a bitter smile, waved weakly, and said, "It’s a long story. I need some water first. By the way, is dinner ready? I haven’t eaten all day."

Upon hearing this, Auntie Li shelved her inquiries, somewhat embarrassed: "I was alone at home, planning to cook a bowl of noodles for dinner, but I’ll go buy some ingredients now..."

Before she could finish, Gu Xu motioned to stop her: "No need, noodles are fine, just a big bowl."

With that, Gu Xu entered the house, not bothering to change clothes, and picked up the phone to call the military district. After successfully connecting with the access code, someone answered quickly:

"Who are you?"

The person was quite cautious, their voice tinged with sharpness and tension.

Momentarily surprised, Gu Xu immediately understood their vigilance; he’d been out of contact for nearly 24 hours, and the military likely assumed he’d been captured. Unexpectedly receiving his access code now, the military probably suspected he was caught and threatened by Country F, thus adopting an extreme caution after picking up to prevent revealing anything that might trouble Hua Country.

"It’s me," Gu Xu hurriedly said, "Sir, it’s Falcon. I’m in S City now and successfully escaped."

Clearly recognizing Gu Xu’s voice, the person on the other end paused for two seconds before reacting: "You... how did you escape? When did this happen, are you alone now?"
