Chapter 1328: Last opportunity
And it was at that moment that prismatic beams rained down upon the Magical Monsters as thousands upon thousands of Mini Drone showed themselves from stealth.
"What?!"
Theresa couldn’t believe it.
She and everyone else watched as the barrage of [Unity Guns] successfully stopped the onslaught of the chimeras and forced them into a halt.
These fearsome monsters cowered under the power of these prismatic beams, as if they were being hit with something that truly terrified their entire beings.
"WHO ARE YOU?! SHOW YOURSELF!" screamed the Ersatz assassin. "You dare hurt my little babies?!"
Thousands of the Mini Drones hovered above, their metallic glint providing enough light to illuminate the ceiling of the cavern itself.
"Kill those!"
Upon the assassin’s command, a chimera monster flapped its eagle-like wings and reached its talons towards one of the Mini Drones. Behind it, hundreds more copied its movements.
Unfortunately for these creatures, the Mini Drones shimmered, before disappearing out of existence entirely.
The talons of these Magical Monsters hit nothing but the air, with some of them simply making large scratches on the cavern’s ceiling.
"Damn you!" cursed the Ersatz assassin.
Then, a few seconds later, the air shimmered again as the Mini Drones reappeared, all still in perfect condition.
Nobody knew how these strange metallic objects were able to do that. Nobody even knew how they got here in the first place. After all, the Ersatz assassin made sure to completely isolate the entire lair from being accessed by anybody.
"Who are you?!" the assassin asked again. "Show yourself!"
It was at this moment that a few Mini Drones congregated to form a small structure, their forms combining into a small projector.
The screen then lit up as it began to project a holographic video into the air.
Then, a young, handsome man with golden hair appeared above everyone. His eyes and smile was a complete contrast to the situation everywhere down below.
Michael’s figure was not only projected in the chimera’s lair, but also simultaneously broadcasted back to the Vanderbilt army.
"Yo! What’s up," Michael said, waving to the camera. "Do you guys know who this is?"
Michael moved the camera to show a hooded figure completely bound in golden threads. The man couldn’t move his body, no matter how hard he tried.
"Leader?!"
"Leader?!"
The Ersatz members from both locations couldn’t believe what they were seeing! Their leader was bound up and tied! He was supposed to be the one who completed their hostile takeover for the entire demi-human kingdom!
"As you can see," Michael said. "Your so-called leader is already in my custody. Now what I would suggest for you all is to simply surrender yourselves. The fight is over. I have won."
Of course, no one could believe what they were seeing. The Ersatz assassins were simply too caught up in their own beliefs, their own pride, to acept the fact that their plans had gone down the drain.
All that planning, all that preparation, months of their hard work, was immediately thwarted by a single human boy.
They didn’t want to believe it.
"Damn it!" the Ersatz assassin cursed. "I’ll take you all out with me!"
It was at this point that the assassins from both locations ordered their men to immediately charge towards the humans with no regard to their own safety or life.
They were going to kill them, no matter what.
Michael, seeing this, couldn’t help but sigh. "I gave you a chance. Now, I have no choice but to give you up to my pet."
"HEHEHEHE...."
He had a bet with Fudge that the Ersatz assassins would surrender once he’d shown them their leader was already defeated. If they did, then the Ersatz members that they defeated would be under the Rebornian prison system.
But if they didn’t, they would be Fudge’s responsibility.
So now, they were going to Fudge’s little place called ’hell’.
Michael closed his eyes, focusing deep into the power in his core. In his magical cores. And in that instant, he felt the connection with the mana in the air. Tremendously powerful and plentiful, he knew that they’d be able to fulfill everything that he wanted it to do.
Two golden magic circles appeared around beside him. As mana continued to pour into these two magic circles, they continued to expand and become larger and larger as Michael continued his spell configuration.
And in the end, the two magic circles became hundreds of meters in diameter.
Then, he snapped his fingers.
The entire Vanderbilt army, all forty thousand of them, found themselves surrounded by a golden light. They looked at their hands, feeling the familiar sense of magic in their fingertips.
Levi’s eyes widened. "... no, that’s... that’s not possible..."
Those were his last words before his entire body disappeared from the jungle in a single snap.
And in the next second, Levi found himself in a completely different location. Large branches, with leaves all around him. He was in the Sacred Tree. Along with the entirety of his army.
In a similar manner, Theresa and her Coalition was also engulfed in golden magic, before finding themselves teleported out of the caverns, and into the bright scenery of the Sacred Tree.
One second they were surrounded by hungry, treacherous chimera monsters, and the next, they were here, in safety, and under the bright sunrays of the artificial sun.
Theresa looked at her hands, feeling that nostalgic feeling. It was something she thought was gone forever. But now, had come back again, for just one, fleeting moment.
Then, it was gone. It disappeared as fast as when the golden magic circle first appeared.
She looked towards a person in the middle of all this. A golden-haired youth.
Even now, through that fleeting sensation she felt in her body, she felt that sensation emanating off of Michael. It was coming from him. No doubt about it.
The hairs on the back of her hand stood on end as she came to a realization.
"He... he used magic."
