That same night, the Ironfell castle buzzed with life, the celebrations had begun.

There were musical dao cultivators playing songs on their instruments all over the castle, the halls weee lit up completely and there was a great feast for all to eat.

The Patriarch and Matriarch had already announced that there would be an arrival of a new Ironfell and people from far and wide had come to celebrate.

"For the baby." Said yet another noble as he bowed, presenting a gift to Elena, all in all, she had received more gifts than she could count, as she wasn’t in any particular need of anything, she would wait to open them in her convenience.

Rhoarin shook the man’s hand and he was on his way. There was a long line of people waiting to either congratulate them, or give them gifts, Elena was already beginning to tire out, but this was Rhoarin’s tradition, he had been doing this from a young age.

She tried her hardest to maintain her smile until she had to excuse herself as nature was calling.

She went to the restroom to ease herself and while she was washing her hand, the shadow of Jaran appeared beside her, startling her once again as she was never prepared to be met with the gaze of a dark shadowy demon.

"Heavens!" She gasped as she turned around, her shock slowly forming into a frown as she realized who was standing behind her.

"My apologies for startling you." Said Jaran in a calm voice, the shadow looked clueless as it only appeared when summoned.

Even Elena found it weird that this shadow would appear all of a sudden, she had neither summoned, nor even thought about it. She didn’t even remember it.

’Is it here to congratulate me on the pregnancy? I doubt that.’ She thought.

"I’m here to deliver a message, you’re being summoned to the the chamber of your son."

"To Jacob’s chambers? What’s going on in Jacob’s chambers?" She asked, confused. Maybe Jacob had decided to leave a gift for her there, or maybe he forgot something.

Jaran’s shadow did not reply, instead it just slowly faded away, as though it were being summoned to another location.

Elena stood there, her reflection staring back at her through the mirror. She looked absolutely stunning, the reason Rhoarin could not take his eyes off her that night.

’Well, now I’m curious.’ She mused as she stepped out of the restroom, her feet impulsively driving her towards Jacob’s room.

She had no idea what awaited her there, but she would find out soon.

She hesisated before turning the key that she had already inserted into the key-hole, since Jacob left, she had kept the key to his room close to her, only releasing it when the maids were doing their weekly cleaning, which she would personally supervise.

At the end of each cleaning job, she ensured that the room remained the same way, she met it. Whenever Jacob returned home, she wanted him to meet room the same way he left it.

She took a deep breath and turned the key, pushing the door open slowly.

When she stepped into the room, she could not believe her eyes, she was so surprised that tears began to roll down her cheeks.

"No no, don’t ruin your make up on this special day, mother." Jacob said as he got up from the bed and went to hug his mother, who was crying fully as of this moment. "Good to see you mother."

She wrapped her hands around him even tighter, unable to control the tears that fell from her eyes.

She pulled back briefly to look at him, to make sure it was really him, then she hugged him again.

It had been four months since she had last seen her son, and now he was standing g before her again.

The hug soon ended and she pulled out a handkerchief to wipe her face, she ended up wiping all the makeup away—Jacob thought she looked way better without it.

Jacob sat in a chair just across from her, and they looked at each other.

"How have you been mother?" He asked, breaking the silence between them.

"As you can see, I’m holding up, your father and I have been swamped with work, but enough about us. How are you? I see you’re doing great, but you don’t look like you’re eating much, let me tell the maidens to get you some food..." she started rambling, wanting to get all her words out in a single breath.

"Calm down mother." Jacob laughed, he thought it adorable that she wanted to feed him in that exact moment. "I’m here for the entire night. No need to rush, I found out I’m gonna be a big brother soon and I couldn’t help but see you, the both of you. Where’s dad by the way?"

"Oh he’s in the hall, attending to the guests, I had to go to the restroom, I was starting to get sick of it." She chuckled. "So tell me what you’ve been up to lately."

Jacob and his mother had always been close, hence why he narrated a couple things about his journey to her, she listened keenly, her facial expressions changing slightly when she heard things that she didn’t particularly like.

He also conveniently left a few things out, like his clash with Morbius, or his battle with Heimdall. Things he felt she didn’t really need to know.

"Uhm, Jacob, you mentioned that you found out I was pregnant, how exactly did you find out."

"Mother, you forget I have Jaran guarding you every minute of the day, he told me."

"Ohhh." She nodded in response.

Just then, they heard a knock on the door. "Elena!" A voice came from outside as the door swung open slowly, Rhoarin standing elegantly in the doorway.

"W-W—Jacob?" He exclaimed. "My boy! Come here!"

The man hugged Jacob tight and sat beside them, they had to return to the hall soon, but in this moment they had reunited as a family, with so much to discuss, Jacob was happy seeing that he could bring joy to his parents at least this one time.
