Chapter 140: I Guess I Win
Heimdall stood there as Jacob watched him squarely with a wide grin on his face.
"What is it that you find amusing boy?" Heimdall snarled, the smile on Jacob’s face starting to annoy him as it seemed like the boy knew something that he didn’t.
Jacob didn’t answer, with another thought, the attack he had used previously, formed in front of him again. This time it was even bigger, almost covering the young man’s entire frame.
Heimdall hissed as he watch the boy conjure up the same attack that hadn’t worked the first time.
"Do you think me a fool boy! You think I’m some kind of toy that you can play with? You might be strong but don’t thin—" Heimdall began to shout, he was beginning to think that the boy wasn’t taking the fight seriously, but his words were cut short by Jacob.
"No! Not at all, Heimdall. I have the utmost respect for you." The young man responded.
"Then fight me like a man."
Even the spectators had begun to wonder what Jacob was actually doing, the Primarch sat with his hands crossed in front of his face, he wished to see the result of this supposed tomfoolery.
’Why would he use an attack that is ineffective for the second time, does he know something that we don’t?’ The Primarch mused, but he maintained his cool.
Jacob had his head up as though he were pondering on what Heimdall had just told him, he finally brought his gaze down and looked at the man again, this time the smile was gone.
From the look on the young man’s face, it seemed that he had arrived to a conclusion. "Nahh, I’ll pass."
ZOOM!
The large energy sphere was sent flying towards Heimdall like a shotgun bullet, the air violently parted under its force.
Heimdall sighed and waved his hand in the same manner he had done many times before.
He waved once.
Then waved again.
He suddenly felt as though a huge weight was crushing him relentlessly, and he was bucking under this immense pressure.
He swallowed a lump in his throat as he watched the huge energy sphere fly towards him. His powers weren’t working, he had been left utterly defenseless against this attack that was most likely going to end the fight.
"No! No! I am not going out like this!" Heimdall shouted.
He pushed his hands outwards and stood his ground, he steeled his resolve as the attack collided with his palms, since his technique was gone, all he had left was his willpower and the last reserve of Qi that resided within him.
He pushed his Qi outwards and held the elemental sphere in place.
It was ferocious, it pushed against him with an energy that was almost overwhelming. He firmly planted his feet in the ground with two strong steps, but even that wasn’t enough as the concrete broke under his leg. He was pushed back a few feet.
"Grrrrhhhh!!" He roared as he struggled against the immense force of the elemental sphere.
The Primarch was on his feet now, nervously watching. His wife stole a glance and couldn’t help but smile as she had never seen her husband so agitated before, he had tried his best to hide it but at this point it was almost impossible.
Jacob only watched with a straight face, he did fully grasp the concept of one who struggled for his life in this manner.
He knew already that even if Heimdall was somehow able to fight against this with sheer will, the next attack would surely take him out. So he watched.
Heimdall suffered, his hands were slightly burned, but the attack was relentless, he tried to power forward, but he was ultimately pushed backwards.
Eventually, as a result of the collision of the sphere with his Qi, exploded in the man’s face.
BOOM!
A large, blinding explosion occurred, flinging Heimdall away so hard, the dome completely shattered as a result of the force of him hitting it, he was sent crashing into the wall instantly with a loud thud.
Cecilia gasped, the smile was wiped completely off her face. The Primarch watched with his eyes wide, what he was witnessing wasn’t at all what he expected, this young man had just made light work of his strongest servant, without so much as a scratch. He almost couldn’t believe it.
Jacob walked towards a broken Heimdall, who lay defeated against the wall covered in rubble and a picture that had been brought down during the crash.
Heimdall’s body was covered in injuries, and his arms were burnt, but he wasn’t passed out yet. At this point, there was no longer anything he could do.
The rest of the people in the room were completely dumbfounded by what had happened in the room, they could do nothing but watch.
Jacob finally reached the man, then squatted directly in front of him.
’What is he doing?’ Light mused inwardly.
"Since you shattered the dome, I guess I win." Jacob told Heimdall with an expressionless look on his face, the dome was placed so that the fight wouldn’t seriously impact the state of the room, but Heimdall’s body had completely cracked the dome open, so even if he were still able to fight, he would be disqualified.
"Jacob, f-from the first—time I saw you." Heimdall groaned, he struggled to speak through the pain, but Jacob listened regardless. "I knew you were different—I could tell, from the moment I couldn’t read your mind. I knew you would be a problem."
Jacob looked at the man, he almost felt pity for him, but he was at least reassured that he wouldn’t die, so he patted his shoulder. "It was a pleasure sparring with you buddy." Jacob said with a smile.
"Likewise."
Jacob stood up and watched towards the Primarch, who was still surprised at the fact that Heimdall was completely taken out. All the Wutherhorn boys stared in disbelief, the in my person who maintained a normal expression was Xenia.
"Congrats on your victory, young master Jacob." She said.
"Thank you Xenia." He responded, then turned his gaze towards the Primarch. "I guess we’re all done here then."
