Yannick had a eerily wide smile on his face as the huge gash that had almost torn his hand off pulsed lightly, blood seeping out of it.

"Yannick, you’re a monster!" Light said, "I thought I killed you!"

"Come closer..." Yannick gestured with his flu injured arm, beckoning on Light to come closer so he could whisper something in his ear. "You are the best I have ever faced, thank you for such a thrilling battle—I can finally rest now."

With that said, Yannick closed his eyes and leaned backwards on the ground, his breathing ceased for a moment. This was a sight that had brought tears to Light’s eyes, he could not believe that he had killed his own brother.

"Yannick! Yannick! Don’t you fucking die on me!" Light screamed as he pushed Yannick lightly, then hitting his chest hard.

"Ouch! I’m not fucking dying idiot! I’m just resting, you can take your reward now." Yannick winced as he scolded his brother, even in an injured and battered state, he was still scary.

The announcer, stunned at the result of the battle, but now now assured that Yannick was still alive; picked up his speaker and drew his breath. "Since Yannick Wutherhorn is unable to continue the battle... the winner—and the new defending champion of the yearly gladiator tournament... your very own returning Young Lord—LIGHT WUTHERHORN!!"

The crowd roared as everyone gave Light a standing ovation, Jacob was the only one who sat back on his chair with a smile on his face, Anissa was practically a kangaroo with the way she jumped for joy.

Light stood in the middle of the arena as he swirled around, looking towards every corner of the arena as the screams and cheers erupted from all ends of the crowd. He didn’t even notice when the alchemists had come to take Yannick away.

He stood alone now, beaten and bloodied, but victorious. He pumped his fist in the air triumphantly as he walked towards the podium where the winner would be awarded.

Three trophies would be presented; A gold trophy for the winner, a silver trophy for the runner up and a bronze trophy for the second runner up, which should be decided with a battle between Jonathan and Vale.

Since Jonathan and Vale were incapacitated as of the moment, then neither of them would receive the bronze trophy.

The Primarch cursed under his breath as he leaned back on his seat, absolutely enraged at the fact that Yannick had lost to such a person.

"Whooooo! Hooo! That’s my boy!" The Primarch’s wife screamed beside him as she celebrated Light’s win.

The man looked at her disdainfully, a look which made her quiet down a little but not cease her celebration.

"Tell me, what is it that you celebrate? Woman." The Primarch furrowed his brows, his gaze was fixed on Light, who stood in the middle of the Pit, still entertaining the cheers. "You celebrate the humiliation of the sole heir of the Wutherhorn dynasty? Or you celebrate the return of a prodigal child? One whom I no longer recognize."

The man had a hard look on his face, the outcome of this tournament did not impress him one bit and it was obvious from his look. This wasn’t the way to celebrate his return after two years.

He would sooner be infected by the dark plague again than acknowledge Light Wutherhorn as the winner of this tournament.

"I’m celebrating for our son who has finally come home after all these years, and with him he brought something that is worthy of this family." The woman responded.

"Nonsense! He is not worthy of this family, I do not care what he has brought back. He ran away! No sane member of this family would do such a thing."

"And yet he has returned, and with this victory, he has earned his place in your court. Your approval does not matter anymore—the people love him, the rest of the family loves him. He has nought else to prove to you." She said and immediately walked out on him, she was the only one throughout the estate who could do that with no consequences whatsoever.

"Twice now she has defied me, where does her confidence come from?" The Primarch muttered to himself, dumbfounded at his wife’s actions, but what was he to do, there was only one way he could punish her.

Light held the trophy now, it was a smallish sculpting of a man who sat in a lotus position, he looked at it very closely. This was the first accolade he had received since he was born into this family. He would cherish it for as long as he held on to it.

The tournament had officially ended and everyone had disbanded.

"Light! Light!" A feminine voice screamed his name as he sat in the same ward-like room that he did before the final battle. It was Anissa, looking for him like a crazed woman.

She finally burst in through the door and jumped on him, he wondered why she liked him so much, but he didn’t even have time to think with her huge bosoms pressing up against his bare chest. His mind had gone completely blank.

"Congratulations on your win!" She exclaimed, a huge smile playing on her lips.

"Thank you, even though I almost died, I still managed to win."

"Don’t say that. Just be grateful you didn’t die." She cautioned him.

"Still, I feel bad for Yannick, I didn’t mean to attack him like that." He lowered his gaze and furrowed his brows.

"Don’t worry about that now, fortunately you’re going to have a lot of time to apologize to him."

The trophy rested quietly on a small table beside him as he and Anissa sat on the bed.

"By the way, there are people here to see you." She said.

"Who?"

"Come in!"

As soon as she said that, Jacob, Xenia, his mother and three of his brothers walked into the room.

There was nothing but congratulations and jokes flowing out of their mouths, it was already dark by then, so everybody had gone home, except for those who had injuries to be tended to.
