If anything unexpected happened again, she wouldn’t know what to do. Saving him wasn’t difficult for her, but doing it on the road was tricky because it had to remain a secret. They needed to prepare some spare medicine just in case something happened midway, otherwise, it would be hard to explain.

"Got it, sis-in-law." Right now, Ye Xuan was eager to return home. Once back, he could marry Qing Zhu, be with his daughter, and see his father. With so much at stake, how could he not be anxious?

"Okay, as long as you’re aware of it. Let’s go, catch the bus." Chu Molin looked at the luggage they were carrying. It wasn’t much, and there were only the four of them. After ensuring the others would survive, he’d sent them home.

So what had been a large group was now just the four of them. This made it much easier to set off without waiting for anyone else, quite convenient indeed.

"Let’s go, finally heading home. Qing Zhu, you promised that we’d get married once we’re home. You better not go back on your word." Ye Xuan, still worried, brought it up again before they left.

"I know, stop nagging. I said I wouldn’t go back on my word." Qing Zhu gave him a glare. Did he think she was that kind of person?

Moreover, she only said she’d try to get along with him, when did she ever say they’d marry right away? Yet, seeing Ye Xuan’s hopeful eyes, she couldn’t bring herself to refuse. It was unbelievable.

Ye Xuan hadn’t been this urgent before, but after this brush with death, he knew some things required a firm approach. It was the same with him and Qing Zhu; as she tended to back down, he decided to confront her directly and seize the opportunity. He wondered how far she could retreat.

"Got it, look at you, always showing off. It feels like Qing Zhu’s at a disadvantage." Qin Xue chuckled, she hadn’t expected those around Chu Molin to be the same—introverted but proud.

"Sis-in-law, that’s not fair. It took a lot of effort for me to get Qing Zhu to agree. If you interfere and she runs off, where will I find another wife?" Ye Xuan panicked upon hearing Qin Xue’s remark. He didn’t want Qing Zhu taking her words seriously, lest he end up heartbroken.

"Why don’t you go look wherever? I’m not responsible for your love life." Qin Xue shouldered her medical bag and glanced back at Ye Xuan. What was this about? Did he expect her not only to treat his injuries but also to manage his love life?

"Such an idiot, let’s go." Qing Zhu cast Ye Xuan a disdainful look. How could a man be so foolish? She wondered if she could let him go. She never thought he was this dumb, but when it came to matters involving her, he was so foolish it defied belief. It made her question whether she’d misjudged him, or if her ability to judge people had declined.
