Chapter 2779: Going To The Blackstone Island
Yu Qi’s cheeks were flushed a lovely, deep shade of pink as she caught her breath.
"Wait! We can’t get carried away right now." Yu Qi murmured, catching her breath. She gestured subtly toward the sky where aircraft were ascending into the clouds. "We still have somewhere critical to be."
"Fine... fine. I will let you off the hook this time." Long Hui stared at her flushed face for a few long seconds before letting out a dramatically heavy sigh.
"Good. Then let’s get moving." Yu Qi giggled softly.
That very same afternoon, the two of them packed their minimal gear and officially checked out of their hotel presidential suite. Their next objective was Blackstone Island.
According to the high-level intelligence extracted from Richard Lee’s forced confession, the privately owned island served as one of the MicroTech Organisation’s most heavily fortified, ultra-classified operational bases. Not only was it completely isolated from the mainland, but it was also guarded around the clock by elite, military-grade private security forces.
More importantly, Yu Qi wanted to personally verify precisely how much of Richard Lee’s vocal confession was grounded in truth. She also aimed to unearth even deeper secrets about the shadowy syndicate before launching their next decisive strike.
As they navigated toward an isolated, quiet sector on the outskirts of the city, Long Hui suddenly raised a practical concern.
"How exactly are we planning to set foot on the island?" Long Hui asked. "I am certain Blackstone Island’s naval perimeter is under heavy radar surveillance by now. No civilian charter boats or commercial vessels would be permitted anywhere near its territorial waters."
"Brother Hui... are you forgetting something major?" Yu Qi turned to him, a brilliantly confident grin spreading across her face.
"What?" Long Hui looked at her with genuine curiosity.
"We don’t need a boat. We don’t even need a stealth sub." Yu Qi folded her arms proudly, her head tilted up.
"Rukh." Long Hui’s sharp mind caught on instantly, his dark eyebrows lifting in realisation.
"Exactly! We have Rukh. We can simply fly straight over their defences. All we need are the precise satellite coordinates for Blackstone Island, and we are ready to launch." Yu Qi nodded triumphantly.
Long Hui shook his head with a helpless, affectionate smile. His brilliant fiancée always possessed the uncanny ability to devise unconventional solutions that normal strategists would never dream of.
Yu Qi immediately pulled out her secure smartphone, pulling up high-resolution satellite mapping software to pinpoint Blackstone Island. Even though the island itself was restricted private property, its geographical coordinates were easily retrievable via orbital mapping networks. Once she had thoroughly memorised the exact latitude and longitude, the two slipped into a deserted alleyway where there was absolutely zero foot traffic.
After ensuring no hidden cameras or bystanders were nearby, Yu Qi vanished into the Sere. Inside the tranquil realm, Yu Qi immediately directed her gaze toward the edge of the crystal-clear lake.
"Rukh! Come here!" Yu Qi called out.
A short distance away, the majestic beast was lazily lounging beside the water, basking under the warm, ambient light with his massive wings folded neatly against his back. Upon hearing Yu Qi’s voice, he lazily cracked open one golden eye before stretching his enormous, powerful frame.
With a single, effortless sweep of his wings, he launched into the air, gliding gracefully across the lake before touching down softly beside Yu Qi.
"What is it you require today?" Rukh asked in a deep, booming voice.
"I need you to transport us to a distant island today." Yu Qi replied directly.
"I demand a Beast Pill. That is my flat transportation fee." Rukh tilted his massive head, his eyes gleaming with clear intent.
"Fine, fine. I will refine a top-tier Beast Pill for you later tonight." Yu Qi rolled her eyes playfully before laughing.
"A fair bargain." Rukh immediately nodded his massive head in satisfaction.
"Aoi. The second Rukh steps outside the Sere, trigger his Invisibility Cloak." Yu Qi then redirected her mental focus toward her contracted beast, Aoi.
"Consider it done, Master!" Aoi chimed happily.
With all preparations in place, Yu Qi summoned Rukh out of the spatial realm. The split-second the colossal avian beast materialised in the outside world, Aoi instantly triggered the concealment domain. Within the blink of an eye, Rukh’s massive form dissolved completely from the people’s sight.
"You are back. And I take it Rukh is ready?" Long Hui smiled warmly as Yu Qi stepped back out beside him.
"Mhm!" Yu Qi nodded brightly. She then issued a final command to Aoi through their mental link. ’Aoi, extend the invisibility domain over Brother Hui and me as well.’
’Understood, Master!’ Aoi said.
A subtle, invisible pulse of energy silently wrapped around both Yu Qi and Long Hui. Within seconds, their physical forms blurred and completely faded away from the mortal realm. Everything was set. Now, it was time to pay Blackstone Island a little surprise visit.
Yu Qi and Long Hui climbed onto Rukh’s broad back. Once they had settled into a comfortable, secure position, Yu Qi gently patted his brilliant feathers.
"We are ready." Yu Qi whispered.
Without another word, Rukh unfurled his enormous wings. With a single, thunderous flap, a powerful gust of wind swept across the ground as his colossal body shot straight into the heavens. He already knew their destination. Locking onto the precise coordinates Yu Qi had provided earlier, Rukh adjusted his trajectory and flew straight toward Blackstone Island without a moment’s hesitation.
His flight speed was nothing short of astonishing. The scenery beneath them blurred into fleeting streaks as mountain ranges, dense forests, and sprawling cities dissolved into the distance behind them in mere minutes.
