Rebuild World

16 Cheryl's Prison Party

Akira is walking along Slam Street at Cheryl's request. An armed boy there and a girl dressed slightly better by Slam Street standards. Think of it as a rushing hunter and its surroundings, it's not unusual either.

Still, from time to time an interesting gaze can be directed. Someone saw some meaning in the sight.

I look around Slam Street a lot on Cheryl's guide. After a focused turn around the area that was the territory of Sibea, a significant part of the way out of it is also added to the stroll range.

The slum streets are quite large and contain a variety of inmate territory, large and small. Those territories are moving in their own order, and it is dangerous for those who do not know that order, those who are not incorporated into it, to wander poorly. The alley, which was Akira's bunk, was also at first some inmate territory. What Akira had been missed in a way was just not such an important place as to eliminate all those who lived there on their own.

Akira also had that degree of knowledge. And I was trying to stay away from that unknowledgeable place, so there were many places I didn't know, even though I spent many years in Slam Street.

"I've never been around here before, but it's a lot of beauty for a slum town"

The surrounding area is lined with buildings that look relatively rugged. There are also a large number of outdoor stores, and a variety of items of unknown origin are arranged in the store, such as pistols that look poorly maintained, knives with some blades spilled, and even simple accessories. Guests are also seen quite well. This sight was evidence of the maintenance of the economy, security and order that make up those commercial environments, as well as proof of the power of the inmates who hold this place as their territory.

Cheryl laughs and lightly explains as Akira turns a slightly more intriguing gaze to unfamiliar places.

"They say the buildings around here were built firmly once the city tried to expand the subdivision. But it was frustrated and abandoned, and it was occupied by some of the troubled men around here."

"Heh."

Akira was lightly impressed with the bean knowledge of Slam Street and Cheryl, who knew it, which she couldn't just get from sleeping in the alley. And somehow I'll ask Alpha.

"Now, did Alpha know?

'No. I didn't know.'

'Really? There's something Alpha doesn't even know. "

Somehow, but I feel like Alpha knows everything. For Akira, who thought so, I don't know, the answer was a little surprising. It appears slightly on my face. But when I hear the rest of the story, its face changes quickly, too.

'There's about something I don't even know. Because that's what I was originally planning to do because of the setback in development around here. The city side didn't intend to develop this neighborhood directly (decently) for the first time. Still, if it's a city initiative, it's easy to forcefully develop, so I guess someone decided to fund it and do that.'

"... you know that"

'What I didn't know was how it was generally conveyed. Someone's unjustly occupied, so I guess you're doing something behind it. Even if something were discovered, it would include manipulations that would allow those involved to escape their responsibilities.'

How does Alpha know the information about those who are not common? Akira was a little concerned about that, but decided not to ask. Because it's no use caring.

Alpha is definitely an anomaly. Aside from the fact that I can only perceive it, I get a heap of uncertainties just thinking about it. But I was trying not to intentionally care about it.

What matters to Akira is that Alpha is on her side. There is no doubt that it is a very unprofessional being. But the element of being on your side is more important.

There is no such thing as reaching out to yourself to the thin dirty children of Slam Street. No one can help themselves. Akira has always thought so. Even now. I just found out that there are extremely rare (rare) exceptions, and to that extent the way I see the world does not change.

That's why Akira doesn't care about the anomaly of Alpha, which is the exception. If you want to lose Alpha by worrying about it, you choose to turn away. At least, now.

Unexpectedly, Alpha smiles a little pranky (naughty).

"Still, when Akira and Cheryl walk side by side, it sounds like a date"

Akira blew out lightly and accidentally pointed her gaze at Alpha. Suddenly the person blowing out and pointing his gaze at no-one is suspicious enough, but Cheryl dared (ah) not react. Because Akira already told me not to listen. If day-to-day tranquillity is gained by shifting away from the question, Cheryl is silent.

"A date, that's different, isn't it?

'No. It fits. You're reckless in challenging me to argue, though you're on your own?

Alpha laughs joyfully when she sees Akira with a subtle face but gives up her objections.

'That's why it's a date, so let's buy something and give it to Cheryl'

'... okay. You want me to buy you something?

Akira is not going to be forced against anything either. It's not dangerous. Even if you don't know the intent, if Alpha is satisfied with just a little money on hand, that's fine. Above all, I want to avoid the kind of hassle that continues to be extended to explain the advantages of giving Cheryl a gift as a result of being mean and poorly contested. I think so and head to a nearby dewstore. Cheryl also follows Akira.

Various kinds of merchandise are cluttered up at the outlet. Suspicious guns in maintenance arranged there linger in Akira's eyes. In insecure slums, guns are certainly also important and important objects.

(... no, no)

Akira gently shook her head to the side. It would be no different than harassment if you gave such a gun and it was an outburst later. It wouldn't be the product to send to that person on a date in the first place. I reconsider that and try to find something more difficult. But I don't know what's easy because I've never given anything to anyone before. Temporarily worried, undecided, he asks Alpha for help.

"Alpha. Which one do I have to do?

"Think for yourself."

To Alpha, who laughed with pleasure and replied so, Akira returns her dissatisfaction willingness on a mindset.

'... you said you'd tell me if you asked me something I didn't know before'

'So you answered, didn't you? Give what Akira has chosen for herself. That's the answer. "

'Is that what you mean? Is that what we're talking about? Is that the problem?

'That's the thing, that's the story, that's the problem. I'm learning to give you weird things to give me subtle expressions. Good luck.'

Alpha smiles joyfully. Akira exhaled in her heart, giving up and returning to the outdoor merchandise.

"What are you looking for?

Cheryl just spoke up with a degree of sensation that shook the subject lightly. In contrast, Akira returns a slightly difficult face and a slightly hesitant tone.

"... it's here, do you want anything?

"What?"

"Uh, look, in yesterday's explanation, I told Cheryl... no, I know him... no, what is it?

"I'm being cordial, is that it?

"Yes, that. I guess you have proof of that, don't you? They said they'd get a lot of stuff. I'll give you something to prove it to. I don't know how useful it is."

Alpha told him to choose for himself, but the giver asked him about it, so Akira decided to use it as an excuse and ask him directly already. I want to avoid Akira if I can, like giving her something weird to make her look subtle.

Cheryl was quite surprised. I didn't even think I was choosing a gift for myself. I had no idea you were such a attentive person.

The person's eyes are right, Akira is just doing what Alpha tells her to do. Cheryl can't tell that far either. That's all I was surprised about.

"... so which one?

Cheryl replied promptly and laughed a little happily.

"Well, if it's a gift, can Akira stand out? Because it's more effective."

To be honest, I would like to say the most expensive product I can. The more expensive the item, the more effective it is as evidence of goodwill as the person to whom it is given. I can redeem it later if I have to.

But forcing (or needlessly) expensive objects in your current relationship only undermines your mood. In addition, the price cap is known for outdoor products. So Cheryl decided to attack from another direction.

That you (you) made a serious choice for me. That's happier than anything. I strongly conveyed that in an atmosphere that exited the tone, expression and modus operandi and hung on to earn Akira's fondness.

But the finesse didn't reach Akira. Even with the expression and voice of a strong fondness on the girl, Akira turned the face into something even more troubling, instead of loosening it.

"... ok. Then don't complain if I choose something weird, okay? If you choose for yourself, you're inside now, aren't you?

Cheryl is heartily surprised by their unexpected reaction. From Akira's attitude of trying to get the last confirmation, I don't feel at all a certain reaction, a response that has increased my liking, etc. as usual.

Still, I could easily tell from somewhere desperate about Akira that I wanted to somehow avoid choosing with my taste. When you show a bare gesture of thinking a little while hiding your inner surprise, you laugh and match your opponent's reaction.

"I'm not complaining about anything, but right, so can you pick an accessory? Because that kind of product seems to be better."

"Right. Okay."

Show Akira a blatantly slightly relieved attitude.

(... I knew you couldn't use a gun)

Akira relaxed her expression a little and resumed her gift selection when she was relieved (mostly) of her reduced fear of choosing something weird thanks to her narrower choice. After being lost for a while, I choose a pendant that looks expensive there and give it to Cheryl. Accessories, chosen based on the criterion that they are likely to be sold at a high price if brought to the store.

"Thank you. I'll sit down. I'll take care of it."

"Oh. Well, do as you please"

Cheryl laughed and thanked her as much as she could. But I felt tired for nothing. Akira's reaction was faint.

After that, I looked around the Slam Street for a while, and when the sun began to fall, it was dissolved. I bow my head deeply to Akira as Cheryl leaves.

"Akira. Thank you. I sat down today. And please keep it up."

"Oh. Cheryl, take care and go home."

"Yes, and take care of Akira."

Cheryl leaves with a regrettable laugh. While I regret that I did not earn much (most) of Akira's fondness in my heart, I was satisfied that I was able to obtain a product once and for all as evidence of my goodwill. And since I turned my back on Akira, I had a serious look on my face thinking about what was to come.

Akira shut up for a while and dropped Cheryl off. And Alpha asks strangely how Akira looks when Cheryl disappears but doesn't try to leave as she is.

"Akira. You're not leaving?

'Hmm? Kind of.... next, it's my first day, well, just in case.'

When Akira answered that, she walked in the opposite direction from the inn.

After the devastation of Sibea's inmate party, its territory had become a blank space not belonging to any inmate party. Neither does the inmate party in the vicinity suddenly imitate or attempt to suppress force. Bad imitation (well) only increases unnecessary damage by inviting protests between inmates. The first step is to negotiate between the surrounding detachment parties and coordinate interests such as dividing the blank space. The takeover at the best of our abilities will come after a flashy rub (also) in that negotiating place. It's only after that that I bleed.

The building that was the base of the Civeas is the center of the blank space. Although Shibea and the others' gold and supplies were collected at the base, the survivors of the inmate party took most of them away as souvenirs when joining other inmates, so there is no great value in what remains.

Still, the building itself remains well worth it. Its profits would be huge if the inhabitants of Slam Street occupied it. But now it was unpopular and idle. Because when someone goes inside on their own, the surrounding detachment party decides that something else has moved into the occupation of the building, triggering a protest. It was dangerous for those who did not belong to any inmate party to just put them to bed.

Cheryl was waiting for a man in that temporarily deserted building. I'm not waiting for someone specific, I didn't even call them and they might not come in the first place. But I decided it was likely to come, kept the tension down and waited still.

If you wait for a while, the waiting person will appear as expected. Turn an invincible, confident (overflowing) smile on them as Cheryl hides her inner anxiety and tension.

"Welcome aboard. Welcome to my base."

They are the survivors of Sibea's detachment party. Not all those who were able to join the other inmates are sailing smoothly either. Unlike before, I can't be tamed. Poor handling of positions, etc. They only took souvenirs and kicked them out. Some did not join the other Jailers in the first place. After the devastation of the Prisoner Party, many of its constituents had feathers.

If those people see Cheryl with Akira, they naturally come to confirm.

"What do you mean, your stronghold? No, more than that, why were you with that kid? That kid must be the one who killed Sibea, right?

Cheryl gave her spare grin back to the man who had said so and turned to the surprised (kegged) face with threats.

"My base means what it is. From today on, this is my base for the Jailed Party. I was with Akira because I talked to Akira. As a result, I became the boss here today. So this is my stronghold."

"Akira? You mean that kid?

"That's right. Isn't that a good name? So, what are you guys doing here? You forgot something, but you came to get it?

Cheryl was clearly showing an attitude of ridicule. After knowing that I would definitely buy the objection, I dare to (ah) show my attitude as if I was on track to (to) tell them that I got enough back shield to do so.

The effect showed up well enough. I get more aversion and alert to the attitude of the men.

"... I came to ask you about that because I saw you with that kid. So, what do you mean, we talked?

"Can't you understand without explaining from one to ten? You said I was the boss, right? I was going to talk to Akira and ask my detachment to help me out a lot. But look, Akira's busy with hunter operations, so she means I'll direct her to do a lot of trouble. Think of it as his surrogate. Just see, Akira has a lot of decency and stuff, so on the face of it, I mean, I'm the boss. So, I'm actually in charge, so I'm the boss. Okay?"

One of them roughs up his voice a little excited.

"Though that kid must be the one who killed Sibea! If that kid hadn't even killed Sibea, this wouldn't have happened!

"What's wrong with all that numbers to kill one child, and a dead fool in return? Aren't you stupid?

"Hey Cheryl. You're not getting too well, are you? No matter how strong that kid is, you're alone now."

"What? Are you serious?

Cheryl returned an attitude toward a man who was awesome and even made him feel dumb through a little fool. Then the men start looking around with their pulled faces. I thought Akira was hiding.

"It's no use looking. I told you, didn't I? Hunter's busy. I'm not here."

"Hey..."

A man who thought he was being ridiculed approaches Cheryl. But I stopped by Cheryl's next word.

"You think I didn't tell Akira about you? I was expecting you guys here, wasn't I? You think I didn't ask you to kill me if I was killed?

"... is there any reason for that kid to do that for you? You'd just laugh with your nose that you're dead, wouldn't you?

The man set Cheryl's words half clear and gently intimidated him as he explored half. But Cheryl's spare laugh won't break.

"There's a good reason, isn't there? I'm Akira's favorite. Look, I got you a present. You think Akira's gonna get her favorite killed and make her laugh? Are you serious?

Cheryl picks the chest pendant with her fingers and shakes it slightly to show off. Because of that confident smile, the men could not feel vanity. I didn't completely believe Cheryl's story. But given Akira's danger of being killed in retaliation, he couldn't get any stronger at the time of half-heartedness.

The man who was arguing leaves the base with a tongue-in-cheek. The majority of the rest followed. And only a few children remained on the scene.

Cheryl deliberately gives a thorny smile and calls out to the kids who don't want to go home with a harsh look on their face.

"If you don't need me, will you please leave my base?

"... you know. Put us in jail."

"You admit I'm the boss? You're following my instructions, aren't you?

"... oh. You're the boss. I'll follow your instructions."

Cheryl laughs thinly.

"You're welcome to do that. But go home today. I'm busy, too. I'll introduce you to Akira, so come back here tomorrow night."

The children wanted to stay in a safer base than outside if they could. But suddenly he disobeyed the instructions of those who admitted he was the boss, and when he looked at him, he had no choice but to leave.

Cheryl, who is alone, enters the back room of the base, where he clears his ears, making sure that there is no one but himself from the sound of things, etc. And five minutes later, ten minutes later, I was convinced that I was the only one here.

As soon as that happens, Cheryl's expression changes and the tensions and fears she desperately hid are fully visible. He chewed him to death as he was about to scream. Repeat your deep breath and try to regain some calm.

"... it was dangerous!... It was dangerous! He almost killed me! But I survived!

Cheryl got a back shield called Akira. But Akira is not always on her side. Cheryl needs an environment where he won't be killed without Akira on his side (by his side). The first step in building that environment, the first hand who risked his life, came to an end.

This is probably okay. At least I hit every hand I could hit as it stands. I'll bet later. With that in mind, he slowly enters the floor. At the same time as the tension eases, I feel tired and lie down so that I fall in as I go. Consciousness is drunk by the sleeper.

(... I was bathed yesterday (yes))

Shortly before I fell asleep, Fu and Cheryl thought about that.

Outside the stronghold, some of the earlier ones remained intact without returning.

"Hey. Are you sure you want to do this? If Cheryl's story is true, it sucks, right? They're hunters, aren't they? They're the ones who kill monsters there, right? Are you okay with this?

"That's why you're telling that kid to give me this stronghold. If we get this stronghold, we'll move up our ranks. Because what that kid's saying is just plain clear anyway. Or just that hunter said the right thing. I was proud of what I got, but that's the kind of cheap stuff they seem to sell in their outdoor stores. They just say it's my favorite and I'm in good shape. If you kill that kid right now, you'll have no idea."

"So, but hey..."

The men were planning a raid on Cheryl. But the willingness varied greatly from one another. The anxious. Those who are not seeping in haste. And those who deceive them with mockery and displeasure. Although we share a general will, we have not taken control.

Cheryl's resurrection of the once devastated Jailbroken Party by talking to Akira has eliminated the territory in and around the base. Judging by Slam Street custom, Akira would have taken over Sibea and the other inmates from every territory in retaliation for the raid. Then, if it is asked whether to kill each other with the hunter in the case (or not) for the sake of its territorial defense, it will be the usual decision to observe it for the time being, including a determination as to whether or not it is suitable for the purpose.

But adding on how far you believe Cheryl's story also creates the option of killing Cheryl here and subjugating the base. Even if it were partly true, it's suspicious how far the hunter is positive about building a detachment party. Kill Cheryl and there's a good chance you'll be all kinds of jealous.

If it succeeds, its benefits are enormous. If we hand over the stronghold and territory to some inmate party, its position in the inmate party will be greatly elevated. The profit and the risk of hunter retaliation disrupted the judgment of the men, the percentages of half-heartedness, and divided them between the aggressive and the passive.

"Even Mr. Sijima wants this place. If we give this place to Mr. Sijima, our position will be safe. Do I scratch that kid? Wouldn't you?

"But what if Cheryl's story is true and that hunter finds out about it? Go fuck yourself."

"If that hunter is nearby, Cheryl should have brought him in earlier. If you're gonna do it, why don't you just do it now?

"Hiding somewhere..."

"I don't. I'm also suspicious if First Cheryl really talked to that hunter. Maybe they just said the right thing in the middle of being held. Hunters keep their promises to kids."

"Well, so is that... But hey..."

It was an argument of less than consultation, but nevertheless had the effect of increasing the bias of willingness. There is a large division between the side where the men move to execution and the side where they retreat. Then a typical man on the side of the execution tongues at the other person's lack of motivation.

"I get it. We'll do it alone, so you guys can just stand there and watch. Is that all right? I'm here. That's about it."

"Well, that's about it. Okay."

"All right. Let's go."

The raiders nodded at each other and set up their guns, moving to enter the stronghold.

The next moment, they were shot. Those who were shot through the head and died instantly, those who were spared from immediate death by being shot in the torso, and those who were fortunate enough to have suffered serious injuries, all of whom collapsed to the ground.

Those on the retreating side look around screaming. Then Akira came out of the shadow of an alley a little further away with a gun. Stay close to them and stop your legs.

Akira was flat. Neither disturbance nor agitation was seen, even shortly after the killing of a man. The men who saw how Akira was shaking slightly.

"Oh, you..."

Akira tells the truth.

"I'm the hunter who talked to Cheryl. Needless to say, I warn you (just in case). Don't get your hands on Cheryl. You get it?

"Wow, okay."

Akira nods softly and tries to turn back. Along the way, one of the men who was rolling on the ground shook his last force in fear and anguish and pointed a gun at him, so as he walked, he pointed at the muzzle and pulled the trigger, shooting a few shots and causing him to die instantly in mind. Shoot the rest of the survivors and turn them into clear bodies. Seeing the sight, the intact men who consequently made wise choices made a small scream.

A man's voice reaches Akira's back as she tries to leave.

"... Hey, if you talked to Cheryl, why weren't you with him then?

Akira looks back. And finger the nearby body with a flat face.

"You'd see that, wouldn't you?

That's all Akira said and walked away.

The man distorted his expression and muttered.

"It was a state of affairs when I wasn't there. Poor quality."

Akira was not with the state (on purpose) to lure out those who thought of attacking Cheryl. That's what the men decided. Then he looks at his companion's body and distorts his expression. If I had joined the raid, I would have been terrified to join the corpse myself.

If you think a poor quality hunter collapse that comes flat at the gun is dead, a poorer quality hunter who performs the kill flat sat in the back pot. A man who thought so accidentally zeroes his stupidity.

"... Easy to kill. I knew hunters were always rotten."

When the man realised he unconsciously put it in his mouth, he looked around in a panic. And he exhaled slightly relief (mostly) at the absence of Akira.

When the survivors face each other, they leave early enough. Only the bodies of those who made the wrong choice were left on the spot.

On the way back to the Inn, Alpha asks lightly about the earlier.

"Akira. Is that good for you?

"Oh. I don't have time to keep Cheryl's escort going from the beginning. With that menace and Cheryl's luck, he won't have to die for a while. Later will depend on Cheryl's luck.... Is Alpha unhappy with that one?

If this looks like it, there's no chance Akira would risk wasting it on Cheryl's account. Alpha decided so and went a little further in her understanding of the personality Akira.

'No. I wouldn't mind if Akira was good with that. Tomorrow, we'll train well for today. "

"Well, I get it."

Alpha smiled a little invincibly, entertainingly, threatening. Akira imagined the severity of her training, causing her expression to cramp.

It was the next morning that I was surprised by Cheryl's rolling corpse in front of the stronghold, not knowing what was going on outside.
