Rebuild World

117 Post Rescue End

Elena decides to cut the rescue work out of the worsening of the situation and contacts Sikarabe with a harsh look.

"Sikarabe! Cut it up and retreat now! We're getting out of here!

Copy that.

Sikarabe, who heard a correspondence from Elena, gave an instant answer regardless of the circumstances. Because I understood that it was a waste of even time to ask about the situation.

Sicarabe screams at the hunters at work.

"We're getting out of here now! I'll leave the one who's not on it! Hurry!"

Grab the man Shikarabe is lying on the floor. It's the man who was thrown away by Sikarabe. I've been lying there forever because nobody carried him. I guess you thought it would be nice to leave him on top of stunning him.

The hunter, who was suddenly declared cut off from the work, speaks in haste.

"Wait a minute! Still loading artifacts..."

Sikarabe ignores the complaining hunter and drives to the car. Then he throws the man he was grabbing into the car and quickly moves to the driver's seat.

The hunters, who were carrying the relic, saw the relic with plenty of untrained eyes, then left the relic in the way and hurried to the car. Sikarabe leaves them for real. Because that's what I found out.

The rear door begins to close before the rest of the hunters get in the car and the car begins to move. The hunters ran into the car in desperate shape.

Sikarabe makes a rapid departure of an armoured personnel transport vehicle. Run at full speed towards the gate leading outside the premises as the bullet is pouring. The gate was blocked about half by the remains of the stacked mechanical monsters, but it hit him well in the vehicle and forced him through the wreckage.

Elena and Akira will soon follow Shikarabe. The mechanical monsters that came down the side of the building spread to the ground, part of them trying to chase Akira and the others. But Akira and the others are faster enough. Destroying a few slightly earlier fuselages at the head of the herd, the rest of the fuselage was quickly pulled apart as the destroyed individual became an obstacle and further slowed down.

Some distance from the building, Alpha smiles (cheeks) at Akira and talks.

'It's all right now. Good Luck'

Akira took a breath in peace. The immediate crisis seems to have left. Move slowly and sit in the driver's seat.

"Hey, Alpha. Were the mechanical monsters tightly packed inside that building, like yesterday's Serantal building?

'I don't even know what's going on inside the building. But if it's like that, it's likely to be.'

"Where the hell did you spring up from all that mass?

"I can think of a lot of reasons, but, yeah, there's a lot of stock in the warehouse of a nearby factory, and maybe they released it all at once, and even produced it in bulk on top of that. There were many mechanical monsters of the same kind. '

"Why did that happen all of a sudden?

'Come on? You'll get at least 10 billion aurums if you figure that out. If Akira's willing to do that, why don't we find out about it later?

Alpha suggested to Akira, laughing invincibly. Answer with a look that Akira doesn't like.

"... I'll stop it"

"That's wisdom."

Carol also relieved tension and alarm after seeing Akira's relaxed (but) attitude. Talk to Akira with an extra grin back in the passenger seat.

"That was a pretty exciting situation. That's a little too much."

"It's better than yesterday. You can get away with it."

"So is that. I'm sorry about what happened yesterday."

Akira and the others move on to the ruins of Mihazono Street as they show room for a chat. Akira and the others have no injuries. The hunters were able to rescue them without any problems. After that, if you arrive at the hunter's office outpost, it will be satisfactory. On the way home, scattered with the remains of the mechanical monsters that destroyed them to go, they trampled and crushed them.

On the way to get the rescued hunters to the hunter's office outpost, see the information terminal Akira keeps in the car. An indication indicating that an emergency request sent by short-range communication had been received appeared on that information terminal.

Akira has been instructed beforehand by Elena to ignore all communications in that hand. Things have priorities. Priority is given to those who have completed a rescue contract in advance and whose compensation is guaranteed at the time of rescue. That's all. Even if they were caged right around the corner, I can't afford to park and go help them all the time.

The emergency request received has been forwarded by Elena to the hunter's office at once. With any luck, someone might get that urgent request and help. Whether or not there is a hunter who takes on a request that may already be dead and for which there is no guarantee that the remuneration will be paid is another story.

That's why Akira doesn't want to check the content of the notice. Just a little concerned. That's all.

Alpha notices and talks about Akira.

'Do you want me to turn off the notice if you care?

'Right. Please.'

When Akira answered that, the information terminal display disappeared. Alpha turned it off.

Akira speaks distracted from the slightest thoughts that have gushed inside her.

"Still, you're pretty much left out."

'Maybe there were a lot of hunters who decided it would be relatively safe to escape indoors. I guess the hunter who managed to escape into the sturdy room is still standing and caged. Not a bad hand if you give up your return on your own. Hunters who escaped into sturdy rooms may still be alive yesterday in the Selantarville. "

'No, even so, you won't be able to get out of that situation'

"As I said, if you give up your return on your own, talk about it."

"... if the situation in the building improves, do you still have hope"

Akira doesn't know the conditions under which that flock of machines will return. Akira and the others may have disappeared after they escaped the building. I may still be wandering around the building.

Akira stopped thinking any more because she wasn't even going to make sure.

Akira and the others were able to return to the hunter's office outpost without a thing. Although we had sporadic raids of monsters on our way home, they were large enough to deal with it without any problems. I guess it was because I destroyed most of the mechanical monsters on the way, or in the middle of attacking another hunter.

Akira and the others pull over in front of the hunter's office outpost. Four people stand in front of the rear door of the armoured personnel transport vehicle: Akira, Carol, Elena and Sarah. The door is still closed.

Akira thought the door would open soon, but the door remained closed and there was no sign of it opening. Wondering about it, an armed group approaches Akira and the others. A man like their captain speaks to Elena after comparing the information device in his hand to Elena.

"You're the hunter who took on the rescue request for point C32, right? Is the customer in that vehicle?

"That's right. Can I take care of the rest?

"Got it. I'll take care of the rest."

"Shikarabe, open it."

As Elena contacted Sikarabe, the rear door of the armoured personnel transport vehicle slowly began to open.

The rescued hunters see the sight outside the door, realise they've come back near the outpost, and once again get a relief (mostly) look on their face. But some hunters made their expressions look harsh, with a dark look on their face and a face filled with cut wings.

A captain-like man stands in front of an open door and speaks to the hunters in the vehicle.

"I'm from Alhain Insurance. We will now guide you to a simple clinic for your treatment and procedures. Please accompany the attendant as instructed. If you have difficulty getting around on your own, please contact a nearby attendant."

The hunters in the car follow after the attendants who get out of the car and lead the way with a slow foothold. Those who walk on their own, those who ask other hunters to lend them their shoulders, those who are carried by the attendants on stretchers, and so on.

And among the hunters walking, there was a man who cared about what was going on around him with a contemplative look on his face. The man was breathing rough either because of excessive tension. The hand holding the gun was also slightly trembling. And I cared about the distance from the people around me, especially the Alhain insurance people.

Another hunter in front of the man is asking an attendant who was nearby.

"I'd like to get in touch with someone I know, but I still don't want to connect here. Can't you figure it out?

"Depending on their situation, if it's simply a communication line problem, it's relatively easy to connect in a simple clinic. Because the Alhain Insurance line is available"

The attendant's consciousness is directed at the hunter he is responding to. The man who cared about his surroundings decides that the nearest attendant's consciousness is not directed at him now. So the man has decided to be ready. A man ran out of the scene in desperate shape with all his might.

But the man who tried to escape the scene was caught lightly by an Alhain insurance trooper who was on guard at the man's blind spot. Troopers push the man down to the ground and let him fall (squash) to seal the move completely. Weapons are taken from a man who is pushed hard to the ground and has a distressed look on his face. Both hands and feet are further restrained with restraints. The man was completely powerless in just a few seconds.

The gaze of those around us gathers at the trooper and the man in custody. An Alhain insurance official smiles at the other hunters.

"Please refrain from unnecessary misleading behavior. Please do not inadvertently leave without prior consultation until all procedures with Alhain Insurance have been completed. Beware."

Akira watched the sight with a little surprise. But Elena and the others are not at all surprised that it was within their assumptions. I guess this neighborhood is a difference in experience as a hunter.

All hunters in the armoured personnel carrier were handed over to Alhain Insurance troopers shortly after.

Elena has various procedures for making requests with Alhain Insurance employees. Sikarabe calls Akira from inside the armoured personnel transport vehicle.

"Akira, see if they have any forgotten items left in the car."

"Okay. What am I supposed to do if I find something I forgot?

"Keep the relics and equipment of the old world out of the car. If you still have legs and arms, put them in the body bag and let them out. The spare bag is under the chair."

Akira's expression is slightly convulsive. Because I heard something unexpected as an example of forgetfulness.

"... ok"

"I asked for it."

Akira made use of the information-gathering equipment to examine the inside of the car with care. Two guns were left under the chair. Fortunately, no one forgot their arms or legs.

In no time, Akira and the others finished processing the request. The head of Alhain Insurance's unit tells Elena.

"Good day. Wouldn't you like to take on another request? As a matter of fact, the hunter who received the rescue request for point C47 is missing. So you have a proven track record of completing rescue requests for point C32, and now you're offering a little reward?

"Keep it on the list of requests addressed to me. I'll consider it."

"Right. Well, if you feel like it, please."

That's all the captain said and left with his men.

Akira and the others got out of the car and gathered again as they moved out of the way. Elena starts telling everyone about her next appointment.

"In the meantime, let's take another hour's break while we replenish ammunition, etc. Ensure that each is well replenished. And tell me how everyone feels about this request. What am I supposed to say when I decide to make this request, but it was beyond the level of difficulty I assumed? So I'm going to take a little easier next time."

Akira answers with an expression of agreement.

"We did have some tough spots, so I think it would be better."

Sikarabe answers with a slightly more rugged look.

"I needed to cut the scheduled time for the operation. It was sweet to be aware of the situation, including me. Make it a request for difficulty to act at your leisure, even if your reward drops slightly."

Answer with a slightly unpleasant look from Sarah.

"Given the amount of mechanical monsters springing out of that building, securing an evacuation route if the rescue target is standing caged in the back of the building is also an idea. I'd rather avoid dealing with that amount of monsters inside the building."

Carol answers with a bitter smile.

"If that's a bigger building, you might want to throw out the penetration inside the building at that point. I'm sorry I got kicked out of the building."

Elena has judged the hunters on this scene to be pretty well-earned people. The person in that hand has concerns that sound like self-esteem when asked to lower the amount of the reward. But with this reaction, you may consider safety a little stronger. That's what Elena decided.

"Okay. Next time, I'm going to choose an easy request quite carefully."

Akira gently checks on Carol. Carroll uses fortified clothing with considerable operating costs. Continued requests for cheap rewards may sound profitable. Carol might be dissatisfied with that. That's what I thought.

But I couldn't feel anything like that from what Carol was doing. Akira safely missed Carol's attention.

Carol was aware that Akira was watching her condition. But it was also true that he was not dissatisfied with the continuation of relatively inexpensive requests, and he did not have to pretend to be unhappy. Carol's interest is in Akira, and she doesn't feel like sparing that amount of change.

The armoured tiles purchased by Akira at the replenishment store are affixed to the body of the vehicle. It's manual. It's quite a hassle. But out of hand, that's how easy it is to die. Akira continues to work carefully.

Armoured tiles were consumed more than I could have imagined. Find a spot where some of the body is sticking out, and Akira makes her expression look worse.

"You've been stripped for a long time."

Alpha answers flat.

'If you eat all that aggression, you deserve it. If you don't want to eat that attack straight, reinforce it.'

'Right. I bought a pretty expensive one, but it should have been safe for just that, and that's a necessary expense.'

Armor tiles also have good and evil. The more commonplace but high-performance products are the more expensive. And the more high-performance products, the worse the cost-effectiveness. Akira purchased a fairly expensive armoured tile at Alpha's recommendation. This is the second most expensive item of armoured tiles sold at the supply store. It should be noted that the most expensive armoured tiles were priced higher than the regional market.

Carol is helping Akira stick armoured tiles to her car. Carol asks Akira.

"Akira. What will you do when this is over?

"I don't particularly think about it. I'm going to kill my spare time until the rally time."

"Yes. Then..."

"Right. Flexible gymnastics?"

Carol's words, which she also tried to invite to a light meal, were blocked by Akira's somewhere deviant remarks. Carol makes a bewildering voice.

"What?"

"This one's almost over. What about Carol?

"... I'll be done soon too"

Carol answered with a bewildered look.

Akira really starts flexible gymnastics after work. Carol looks at Akira with a little clarity. Akira is slowly stretching out her body with a slight distortion of her expression due to pain. Carol asks Akira.

"Can I ask why you do flexible gymnastics?

"Because I heard that expanding the range of motion of the joints and softening the body can help a lot to improve health and physical ability. I'm a little stiff. Later, he also trained in the operation of fortified clothing."

"... well, yes"

What Carol wanted to know was not the usefulness of flexible gymnastics, but why (and why) she started it now. At least in Carol's experience, no man started flexible gymnastics even though he was next door to him at the break. But I thought maybe it was something I could come up with, so I stopped listening in depth.

Sometimes Akira seems to think and act. And it is not uncommon for someone of similar rare talent to think slightly out of step with a normal person. Maybe Akira has the same temperament. That's what Carol decided.

It's not like there's any harm in it. I guess I wouldn't be able to hang out with Akira if I cared about that hand all the time. That's what Carol thought and decided not to care.

Akira often fires guns in an unscrupulous (muggy) position to overturn the disadvantage of the situation. In deliberate disregard of the range of motion of the joints, with the operation of the reinforced clothing, the hands and feet are forced to move, pull the trigger with the aim towards the enemy while pulling a thousand slices of muscle fibers, the extremities are further (threaded) and the bones are (stiffened) with recoil. Continue the fight while healing the damage with healing pills.

Improving your body's flexibility is also important to reduce that load. It may be an act of thought, but Akira is not doing anything in vain.

If Carol had asked in a little more detail, the misalignment of perceptions around there might have shrunk a bit. But Akira is beginning to be recognized by Carol as someone with a slightly strange part, so the opportunity has been lost.

If the oddity takes into account the possibility of misdemonizing (sesame seeds) the presence of Alpha, it may be convenient for Akira and Alpha if they meditate (crush) on being treated somewhat like freaks.

Carol switches her mind and talks to Akira, who is bending forward and stretching her body.

"I am confident in my flexibility. Want to see it?

Akira stops bending forward and sees Carol. When Carol confirms that Akira's gaze has shifted to herself, she stands with one foot with her right leg raised wide with a good smile on her face. Standing in balance with one leg with a wide crotch (also) and keeping both legs in a near-straight position.

Carol is skilled in seducing (frightening) her flesh beautifully and attractively. The fortified clothes worn by that Carol are designed with a strong awareness of a man's gaze. Each part of the body is beautifully troublesome and accentuated by Carol, who smiles (cheeks) as she wraps her right arm around her right leg and maintains a one-legged standing position.

Akira looks at that carol and makes a mixed voice of mild surprise and admiration.

"Whoa! Awesome."

Akira's surprise and praise is purely for maintaining an attitude Carol will never take on herself. Unfortunately, it is not against the physical beauty that Carol seeks. Still, it must be a tribute to his own flesh, so Carol honestly decided to receive praise from Akira.

Carol returns to her normal position and tells Akira.

"Thank you. That must be a big deal, right?

"How do I get my body so soft?

"We just have to keep being flexible in the tunnel every day, don't we? In my case, it's part of strengthening the body with a nanomachine."

"Really?... but if someone left that data behind and someone else used the fortified clothes that were used by someone as soft as Carol, it's going to be tough."

Akira remembered what she had heard from Shikarabe before and distorted her expression slightly. Carol asks, a little concerned about Akira's reaction.

"Akira, what are you talking about?

"Oh, I heard that from Sikarabe before. If you move in fortified clothes that leave someone else's data behind, you're talking about someone with a thousand slices of ligament."

Akira told Carol what she heard from Sikarabe. Having heard the story, Carol adds with a convincing look to the story.

"We haven't talked about that yet. It's not uncommon for a cyborg to wear fortified clothes. The range of motion of a cyborg joint is often different from that of a normal human being. If the previous owner of fortified clothing was a cyborg like that, if a normal person moves with that data left behind, his arms and legs would bend and break in reverse. In some cases, you can cut it like that."

Akira has imagined replacing the sight with herself. It's scary to imagine the joints of both hands and feet bending the other way and not being able to move around the ruins of the old world.

"Oh, that's scary."

Akira spoke to her voice unexpectedly. Carol talks with a light laugh.

"I'm not just talking about fortified clothing, but if that's not what you want to see, you should buy the gear in a credible store as much as possible. Be careful not to be deceived by words about the back route and grabbed by weird things."

Akira comes up with a few ideas.

(I bought the equipment at Mr. Sizka's store, so I'm fine. I'm buying the recovery pills from the snails, but you're thinking about what would happen if you sold me something weird. You'll be fine. … maybe)

"Well, I think it's all right"

"Yes. If you're worried about the area, I thought I'd introduce you to my recommended stores, but you're okay."

"Oh, I'm fine"

Akira regains her mind and continues her flexible gymnastics. Stretch your body by imitating the position of the Alpha in front of you. Alpha sits on the ground, opens her legs, and looks at Akira as she presses her chest against the ground. Akira is trying to take a similar position with a slightly spicy look, but she has not been able to take a flexible position like Alpha and is a little uncomfortable.

Alpha smiles at Akira.

'Shall I help?

"Stop me."

Akira replied reluctantly. Alpha would be able to stretch her body a little more if she manipulated the fortified clothes. But after listening to Carol earlier, I get a little butted in.

'It's okay. The fortified clothes Akira wears won't bend her joints in reverse.'

You think I'll be relieved to hear that? I'll do it myself. '

Akira trusts Alpha, but apart from that and this. Continue flexible gymnastics on your own with training in the operation of reinforced clothing.

Align the movements of the inner biological arm with those of the outer reinforced garment, consciously and individually. To reduce damage to the brittle (mollusc) interior and to operate the powerful exterior efficiently (to), both movements are folded together to bring them closer to the best possible movement. Even movement to the degree of flexible gymnastics is difficult for Akira today. I only have training.

Akira continued her flexible gymnastics as it was until the rally time approached and Elena and the others arrived.

After rendezvous with Elena and the others, we wait for Shikarabe's arrival while we chat. Akira had heard a little more from Elena about the content of her last request during the chat. That an Alhain insurance unit was waiting for me when I got back. That there was a man who suddenly tried to escape. I was a little concerned about those things, so I asked.

Elena explained to Akira with her own reasoning. The last rescue request was based on rescue insurance contracted by a hunter named Cocorens with Alhain Insurance. If regular contact is interrupted, or if a rescue request is received, the insurance policy is to send a rescue unit to transport it to a safe location.

After arriving at the general location estimated by the Alhain Insurance investigation, he relied on the Cocorrence information terminal to find their place. Luckily, Kokolens' information terminal and phone call wanted to be connected, but Elena had a lot of doubts when she heard about the other person's situation.

According to information Elena had obtained in advance, there were eight rescue targets. But the number of survivors alone exceeded ten, including the dead, by more than twenty. I can also interpret it as just being standing and caged along the way, rendezvous with the other hunters. But there was no explanation for that from the person on the call.

Further due to their attitude and the content of the story, Elena began to wonder if the person she was calling was really Cocorrence herself, assuming that the person was someone else, and inferred why she was so false.

Optimistically, under the circumstances where he was mentally cornered, he thought that he would not come to help unless he was nearby and immediately named himself, and might have answered that he was the person. There is nothing particularly wrong with that extent. We just need to help and go back normally.

But if you think about it pessimistically, it could be a very bad situation for Elena and the others. All the cocollens are already dead. Besides, he wasn't attacked by a monster, he's been killed by other humans and taken possession of him. The person standing and caged in the building is the person who took it and is trying to push the cost of the rescue request to Cochrans. Or he's attacking Elena and the others, taking the car, and trying to get out with it. Guess what, they're all big problems.

We need to be vigilant, but we can't afford to make sure that's true or false in the circumstances. There are too many people to take home at once, but when I say leave half of them for safety, there will be a riot. Elena decided to push all that confirmation and dealing with to the Alhain insurance side.

"I would have done enough to get my hunter ID to show up after the rescue, but I stopped that too so I wouldn't irritate you badly. Our request is to rescue those who have difficulty returning on their own. Other than that, it's not our job, so we got the Alhain insurance side's approval."

Answer as Akira is convinced.

"It's not like you should simply go and help."

"That's the thing. There is no guarantee that the man to rescue will be a good man. Plus, even normal people can be misjudged if they are stuck with their feathers. You offered me a reward that I would never be able to pay for an emergency request. If the person is charged with the cost of an amount that cannot be paid at all, the person will bear a significant debt. It could be enough for someone like that to escape by accident as soon as they get to a safe place. In that case, you're gonna end up engaging the worst person you've ever helped. Be careful, Akira."

"Okay."

Akira snorted deeply. As hunter seniors, Elena and Sarah were satisfied that they were able to teach hunter mindset to Akira, a junior.
