The sneer on the woman’s face faded. She looked at the illusory lotus floating before her, wrapped in a mass of Life Magnetic Field, and her expression grew contemplative.

This was that fellow’s signature move: leaving Divine Thought Seeds with qualities similar to Spirit Treasures in certain places. Ordinary people couldn’t see them. Only the truly powerful could detect their presence.

One only had to connect with it through their consciousness to establish a link with that person.

Of course, besides the truly powerful, there was another type of person who could see the lotus’s true form: those born with exceptional talent and mental abilities that far surpassed the ordinary. It was said this was the method that person once used to select his reincarnated bodies or pawns.

The woman was now considering whether or not to re-establish contact with the master of this lotus.

’Lotus, who hailed from Pusuo, had once been a member of the All the Sons of Donghua. He probably knows the real reason why All the Sons fell apart while I was asleep, and he most certainly has a comprehensive understanding of the current state of the Hidden Realm.’

’But, since I’m already acting in secret, I’m reluctant to expose any information about myself. I know full well that fellow is neither easy to get along with nor to manipulate.’

Although she was a Sleeper, and should, by rights, despise all life forms active in the mortal world, she absolutely did not dare to underestimate this person.

’In the realm of consciousness, this person’s understanding of "the long river" surpasses even my own.’

’It hinted at another path, one I myself had explored to a degree. Ultimately, however, I stopped and chose the path of absorbing Earth Immortal Flesh and Blood to enter slumber. That’s why I know just how terrifying a figure like Lotus Born truly is.’

To a certain extent, they had also achieved a form of "immortality." At the very least, she had no confidence she could truly kill him.

However, just as the woman was deep in thought, the lotus floating within the orb of light suddenly quivered. A faint pulse emanated from it, causing a slight change in her expression.

An ordinary person, or even an Ancient One, would have likely found it difficult to sense or understand that pulse, but the woman was an exception.

The meaning of that faint pulse was:

My Lady, we are old acquaintances reunited. Why not show yourself?

Sensing this pulse, the woman no longer hesitated. She closed her eyes, and her mental magnetic field intertwined with the lotus before her.

In the Lotus World, a massive new lotus rose and bloomed. On the Lotus Platform stood a woman. She had pale skin and wore a simple white robe trimmed with gold, her hair held high in a coronet. Her features were so beautiful they were almost demonic, yet she radiated an inviolable, sacred grace.

If the woman stood perfectly still, she would seem no different from a statue of a goddess in a temple.

"Lady of the Three Yins, it’s been over two hundred years since we last met, I believe."

A smiling voice drifted over. The Lady of the Three Yins looked over and saw Lotus, standing on a Lotus Platform, looking at her.

"We haven’t seen each other in over two hundred years, and I never expected you to have reached such a realm. Among so many Divine Thought Seeds, you were actually able to sense my presence?"

"Could it be that you’ve truly touched the threshold of the ’True Spirit’?"

A strange and desolate coldness emanated from the Lady of the Three Yins’ pitch-black gaze, enough to send a chill through one’s entire being.

"’True Spirit’?"

When Lotus heard this term, a sharp glint flashed in his eyes.

This was a term known only to a small number of powerful, ancient beings.

Over the long course of ages, the hidden existences had explored countless ruins, and from the various clues they gathered, they had pieced together a path.

It seemed that in the ancient Cultivators’ quest for eternal life, the path of the Earth Immortal was not the only way. There was also a little-known route that the people of old called the "Path of the True Spirit."

The path of the Earth Immortal involved the physical body breaking its shackles to exist eternally in the world, undying. The Path of the True Spirit, on the other hand, advocated for the immortality of the Divine Soul, which could even survive independent of the physical body.

In the current Cultivation system, Cultivation methods like the Starlight Body, Yin Body, and Yang Spirit were all said to have evolved from the ancient Path of the True Spirit. Even the methods the Ancient Ones relied on for reincarnation were related to the Path of the True Spirit.

However, unlike the path of the Earth Immortal—for which tangible proof like Earth Immortal Flesh and Blood existed—the hidden existences had so far found no clues to prove the True Spirit was real.

The closest thing to this concept, in fact, was the "Spirit Treasure."

An illusory body, condensed from a magnetic field, yet able to endure through the ages, indestructible.

According to information obtained from ancient ruins, Spirit Treasures were very likely byproducts created by ancient Cultivators on their journey to pursue the Path of the True Spirit.

For the Cultivators of more recent antiquity, the Path of the True Spirit was too ethereal and illusory. It was gradually abandoned and forgotten, with very few still persisting on it. Even a greatly accomplished being like the Lady of the Three Yins had turned to devouring Earth Immortal Flesh and Blood and sealing herself in slumber.

Lotus was, in fact, no exception. He had also devoured a certain amount of Earth Immortal Flesh and Blood to increase his own power, but he was simply unwilling to enter a long slumber.

In fact, with his experience and Cultivation, he already had a sufficient reserve of Earth Immortal Flesh and Blood. He could become a Sleeper at any time, on short notice.

"You jest, My Lady. I have not achieved the state of a True Spirit. But perhaps someone in this world already has."

Lotus said, shaking his head.

"Who?!"

Hearing Lotus’s words, the Lady of the Three Yins’s expression froze instantly. A cold glint flashed in her eyes, and a thick black fog erupted from her body, filled with a sinister, terrifying aura. The entire Lotus World began to distort and tremble under the fog’s corrosive influence.

"My Lady, please retract your Divine Power. Do you still remember the ’Dream Immortal’?"

Lotus said.

The black fog around the Lady of the Three Yins receded slightly, and her eyes narrowed.

"Fu Yaozi, Chen Tuan? You mean that little fellow who always insisted on the Path of the True Spirit, preferring to endure the constant risks of reincarnation rather than devouring Earth Immortal Flesh and Blood and being influenced by the ancient Earth Immortals?"
