Redemption of a Born Demon

Yi Beidou could no longer perceive the uproar and chaos of the outside world. As the tendrils of his power invaded the portal, an immense suction pulled his consciousness into an unknown space.

This was a Saint Realm, like a sacred vista from a divine scroll. Across this realm, there were no concrete landscapes with any discernible, solid forms. Everything was a fusion of seven-colored light, as if a thick, ethereal filter had been laid over all of creation.

Merely by being in this environment, Yi Beidou felt his own power rapidly assimilating with his surroundings, as if he were about to become a part of this place.

Clearly, the Divine Light Power that Nina had used a short while ago originated from this very place.

Yi Beidou’s expression remained unchanged. The Demon Flame on his body erupted, forcefully dispelling the surrounding seven-colored divine light and carving out a space for himself. At the same time, he infused his eyes with the Demon Flame, piercing through the Void.

The Demon Flame seemed to dispel some kind of cloaking effect, which his Celestial Demon Sensing immediately picked up on. Within the ethereal and seemingly boundless space, a solid structure finally began to emerge.

It was a towering palace built from Seven-Colored Jade. Its style was ancient and unadorned, devoid of any carvings or decorations, yet it exuded an intense, oppressive aura.

Floating before the palace, Yi Beidou seemed as insignificant as an ant.

HUM! HUM!!

Mysterious sonic vibrations pulsed through the air. The palace, seemingly activated by Yi Beidou’s arrival, began to emit a dazzling light.

Yi Beidou narrowed his eyes. With a single thought, he shot toward the palace.

He soon made out the plaque hanging on the palace’s enormous lintel. On it were two large words, written in an ancient script unknown to modern civilization.

Although he couldn’t read the script, the moment Yi Beidou looked at it, he instantly understood the meaning of the two words.

Mystical Palace.

Next, Yi Beidou peered through the main gate of the Mystical Palace. He saw that within the grand hall, which blazed with light, figures like Divine Spirits lined the path on both sides. At the very head of the hall, four figures sat cross-legged side-by-side, surveying all below.

They possessed a solemn, dignified majesty, their might as vast as the sea. They seemed like masters of the world, the very picture of divinity, perfectly matching the image of Deities in the Eastern psyche.

’Formless!’

However, Yi Beidou saw through it at a glance. This was not their true form, but some kind of exceptionally realistic illusion.

No matter who came here and saw these four beings, an image of a deity that best fit the observer’s own cultural perceptions would naturally be projected into their mind.

The formless is all forms.

’This time, I will uncover your true forms!’

The Demon Flame on Yi Beidou’s body flared, and firelight erupted from his eyes as he resolved to peer into the true secrets of the Sealing God Lineage.

His Demon Flame was now combined with the Jade Power, and he was further augmented by his powerful Celestial Demon Sensing and protected by the Power of the Human Path. When it came to investigating and breaking illusions, there were probably few beings below the rank of Earth Immortal in the entire history of Earth who could compare.

In Yi Beidou’s vision, the images of the four supreme gods of the Mystical Palace began to blur rapidly. It seemed the illusion was about to be wiped away at any moment, revealing their true forms.

But at this critical moment, one of the four Deities suddenly moved. Its eyes, which had been like those of a clay sculpture, suddenly gained a lively glint as its gaze fell upon Yi Beidou.

BOOM!!

In that instant, Yi Beidou felt his consciousness explode. At that exact moment, the Deity raised its hand and pointed a finger at him from across the hall.

’You think this is enough to stop me from learning the truth?’

A sharp glint flashed in Yi Beidou’s eyes. He defiantly steeled his mind, focusing his Celestial Demon Sensing completely on a single point.

That point was the very finger the Deity was pointing at him!

The illusion dissipated like smoke, and Yi Beidou glimpsed a trace of reality.

It was a finger as smooth as jade. As it pointed, a seven-colored sigil materialized at its tip.

’A body of flesh and blood! And that condensed power... its essence seems to be the same as the Jade Power!’

In other words, the Immortal Power that the Divine Sealers spoke of.

The vast aura of life and the higher nature of its essence also felt familiar to Yi Beidou.

’You really are living Earth Immortals!’

Yi Beidou was shaken. The theory he had gotten from Long Yichen was now confirmed.

While the status of the other Fruit Positions was still unknown, the supreme Fruit Position worshipped by the Divine Sealers was not an illusion. It had a physical form—and that physical body was probably still alive, not truly dead.

Judging by the feeling it gave off, it was almost certainly a true Earth Immortal!

A Sleeper’s will was muddled and fragmented, making it impossible for one to condense true Immortal Power.

Of course, another possibility couldn’t be ruled out.

It could be a being who had obtained a relatively complete Earth Immortal corpse and achieved total Refinement over it. Such an existence would have likely broken through the limits of a Sleeper, reaching another, unknown realm.

Not long ago, Yi Beidou had learned a great deal about the Hidden Realm from information provided by Dr. Beretta, including theories related to Earth Immortals.

Given the Earth Immortals’ powerful abilities of longevity and immortality, it was impossible that they had all been wiped out in a global war and vanished without a trace. The explanation provided in the data was that after the great war, the surviving Earth Immortals had hastily retreated into the Earth Immortal Realm. Then, the Severed Communication occurred, and Earth Immortals no longer appeared in the world of mortals.

The Divine Sealers, however, had always believed that their ancestors were heroes who received a divine revelation. Relying on the Ancestor Realm, they gained the power to contend with the Earth Immortals. In a great war, they drove all the world-ruling Earth Immortals back into the Earth Immortal Realm. At the same time, they left behind the legacy of the Divine Sealers, passing this power down from generation to generation and ushering in an era that truly belonged to all living beings.
