Redemption of a Born Demon

Yi Beidou felt a powerful pulling force wash over him. His five senses vanished instantly, and his body was subjected to immense pressure.

It was as if, on a cellular level, some force was pulling at his cells, causing them to vibrate chaotically. His very flesh and blood were colliding with themselves from within.

The leaders of the Divine Sealers were right. An ordinary person had no chance of passing through this channel alive. Their cells weren’t strong enough, and their entire bodies would completely disintegrate during the transit due to this chaotic shift in forces.

Yi Beidou didn’t panic. After briefly sensing his orientation, he kicked off with his feet, shot out of the water like a cannonball, and landed standing on its surface.

Soon, figures began to burst out from the water’s surface around him one after another.

Yi Beidou ignored them, his gaze instead sweeping over his surroundings.

He was in a dim, vast-looking space. Their location seemed to be a lake, not a particularly large one, about a kilometer across. On the lake’s surface, Yi Beidou saw a lot of debris, and even an overturned cruise ship, which looked like it had been dragged in not long ago.

Faint moonlight shone down from the sky. Although it was difficult to make out the full extent of the place, Yi Beidou could clearly sense an aura of decay.

’Moonlight means there’s a moon. If I can see the moon here, doesn’t that mean this place is on the surface of the Earth?’

A woman’s voice spoke up beside Yi Beidou. It was Nina of the Mystical Palace, one of the five leaders of the Divine Sealers.

Besides her, the Donghua Martial Artists and the other Divine Sealers had all surfaced one by one, their gazes also following Yi Beidou’s to observe the moon in the sky.

"What’s the power source? This Grotto Heaven is probably over fifteen kilometers across. If that sphere of light in the sky truly functions as the sun and moon, the energy consumption would be terrifying—likely no less than a large nuclear reactor. Could it be fusion technology?"

Tao Zihong asked as he walked up beside Yi Beidou.

"It’s Immortal Jade," Long Yichen said. "You can think of it as an extremely rare, high-purity energy crystal. But that’s not even the main point. The main point is that this stuff has some of the same properties as Earth Immortal Flesh and Blood."

"The properties of Earth Immortal Flesh and Blood? You mean that inexplicable energy source?"

Tao Zihong said in surprise.

Even when separated from the main body, and with no way to absorb energy, Earth Immortal Flesh and Blood could still maintain a full and powerful supply of energy for long periods. The source of this energy had always been a mystery.
