Redemption of a Born Demon

Black Flame surged from all directions. The Headless Immortal Corpse seemed to instinctively sense a great crisis, halting its terrifying assault on Yi Beidou and switching to a defensive stance.

Patterns of golden Talismans flowed out from its body, forming a spherical shield around it that blocked the surging Black Flame.

However, this decision cost the Headless Immortal Corpse its last chance to fight back.

The Black Flame surging from all directions began to erode and burn away the Headless Immortal Corpse’s protective divine light, while the Corpse continuously produced more Talismans from within to replenish what was lost. For a time, the two sides were locked in a stalemate.

Under normal circumstances, a battle of attrition against Earth Immortal Flesh and Blood would be a surefire loss. Its powerful energy, generated endlessly from some unknown source, could suppress all beings beneath the level of an Earth Immortal.

But the Black Flame’s properties were extraordinary. It was a fusion of Essence, Qi, and Spirit, and it burned all three. If an opponent’s defense in any of these three aspects was flawed, the fire would spread even more ferociously.

The Headless Immortal Corpse was in just such a state.

Although most of its body remained intact, its head was gone. Its main consciousness had been annihilated, leaving only the subconscious and instinct remaining in its flesh and blood to drive the empty shell.

This was a huge flaw, and it meant the Immortal Talismans it manifested were incomplete.

The stalemate lasted for about three minutes. The intensity of the Black Flame visibly grew stronger, and the Immortal Talisman patterns on the Headless Immortal Corpse’s protective divine light were gradually being destroyed.

The moment the Black Flame completely engulfed the Headless Immortal Corpse, all of its protective divine light receded. The Immortal Talismans that allowed the Immortal Corpse to walk on air disintegrated instantly, and, losing its support, the Immortal Corpse plummeted from the sky.

The Headless Immortal Corpse was unimaginably heavy, and its fall to the ground produced a massive tremor.

It couldn’t be helped; the power the Headless Immortal Corpse had just displayed was simply too shocking.

Walking on air, looking down on all living things, summoning swarms of Golden Swords with a wave of its hand. Its most terrifying attack had the power of a small tactical nuclear bomb, altering the very landscape within a radius of several hundred meters.

It was as if it could reshape the world with a flick of a finger.

They had no idea how to fight such a god-like being, but even so, Yi Beidou had still managed to subdue it.

The members of the Donghua Group were already looking restless, especially Tao Zihong and the others. They were dying to get their hands on the Headless Immortal Corpse and study it.

But at this moment, Yi Beidou still hadn’t withdrawn the Black Flame, so no one else could approach the battlefield.

This Black Flame insignia was the manifestation of the Black Flame’s Fire Seed and possessed the greatest power.

So, he took a deep breath and withdrew the Black Flame.

"I used the Black Flame to severely wound the residual will and instinct within it. Although I couldn’t destroy them completely—it’s still recovering slowly—it shouldn’t have any major reaction to external stimuli for the next three days."

"It had to be you. If it were anyone else, we would have probably ended up like that group of Sleepers, trapped in this Grotto Heaven forever."
