Reincarnated as an Aristocrat with an Appraisal Skill

Episode 149: The Messenger's Tale

Hearing the report that the messenger had come, I wondered if I had decided to surrender.

That's what the clan thought, too, they let the messenger through without paying the front door.

Naturally, I was wary that it was an enemy trap. Carry out rigorous body checks, paying close attention to assassinations. The messenger did not hide his weapon, but nevertheless paid close attention, and it was actually Robinson, the right arm, who was to be in charge, not the clan, to meet him.

The place to meet is the Great Hall of Starz Castle. Robinson as well as other leading nobles are present. I was at the end of the line, too, watching the interview.

The Great Hall opens and a messenger enters. There were two soldiers right next to the messenger to keep him from taking bad action.

"I came with the life of Master Cances. My name is Vince Robans."

He was a middle-aged man with a bald top of his head. If you appraise, the leadership, martial arts are as low as 30, but as high as knowledge 72, politics 79. Totally civilian status.

"I am Robinson, acting for Lord Klan. The clan is feeling a little sick, so let me talk to you instead."

Robinson lied. I guess it's because I can't be honest with you because I might assassinate you.

"Okay. Let me now get to the point. I came to ask for a truce."

Vince spoke of a truce, and the place was bothered.

I was wondering if there was a truce or something like that over this period, and some of them flew yaj.

I was surprised because I thought he was coming to be a messenger of surrender and make that condition as good as possible for Kanceth.

Either way, truce is not an acceptable story. I would say no.

"Truce......? I'm sorry, but that is unacceptable under any conditions. Welcome home."

Robinson politely said so, but the other nobles are cursed to go home.

"I want you to hear the story to the end. We have a secret weapon we haven't used yet."

Secret weapon.

Suddenly I said something strange.

"What is a secret weapon?

"At Belzd Castle, we have been developing magic weapons for a long time. What we've developed is magic enough to crush supermassive catalysts and cities in one blow. It's possible to destroy this Starz Castle if you care about it. If we could, we wouldn't want to use this either."

The moment I heard it was haphazard, I thought.

If it were true, I would be able to blow this castle up with every clan, but if there was such a thing, I would be using it sooner.

"That's a lie. I have never heard of the existence of such weapons. If it did, why haven't you used it before?

Robinson said what I thought.

The nobles around also agree with Robinson.

But Vince won't back down either.

"It's a weapon that kills a lot of people, so it's not easy to use. Except when you're cornered like this, you can't use it."

That makes sense, but I still don't think such things are convenient.

However, I can't say for sure that there will never be, and I thought I had said something troublesome.

Vince continues the conversation afterwards.

Inside, Vince was good at his tongue, and the aristocrats, who had determined it was a lie, gradually came to the air that maybe it was true.

Robinson decided not to start this conversation, but once he stopped seeing Vince and left.
