Chapter 171: All The Points
The heroes finished their purchases, and Kalli stared at the string of numbers that marked her System Points balance.

There was a cap?
But there were items in the store that sold for 500,000 points. Was that exactly the maximum point limit? Or did the limit improve with her level?
This System needed a set of tooltips or a help section.
Kalli sighed as she searched the supplies section to see if there was actually something in there that would be worth adding to the city. She could buy everyone new blankets or something, but that wasn’t going to burn through hundreds of thousands of points.
She also didn’t have repair materials or starship fuel on the list, so she couldn’t use it on the Arks.
However, as she scrolled down, she realized that she had missed a few important options

There, now she had all the basic purchases done, and she was free to peruse the entire catalogue of items for sale by the System.
And that appeared to be the winning answer.

{Luxury Residential Building} 2500 Points per floor
{Commercial Building} 250 Points per floor, store upgrades extra.
That answered most of her questions, and when combined with the furniture options, she should be able to spend enough points that Marimgar wouldn’t have to worry about running out of space.
However, she needed to do some planning first.
Simple architecture from this world was wasting space.
If she added greenhouse levels to the top, she could use all that normally wasted rooftop real estate for high intensity growth, and then put some defensive weapons on top of a few more.
Unfortunately, she didn’t have another antimatter power plant for sale in her store. It was either so many points she would never be able to afford it, or it was Epic Grade, and she didn’t qualify to see it yet.
There were mana generators larger than the one she got from the first trial, and solar panels available in the store, for a reasonable price.
Both were considered Rare Grade.
Why solar panels were rare grade was beyond her understanding. They were not a complex device, certainly not as fanciful as a mana powered generator.
But, they were 1 point per kilowatt of panel capacity.
Affordable, even if she had to wait until now to be able to get them.
[ Alright, I think I know what to do. A few more buildings, so that we can move some of the civilians out of the Arks. The heroes have space left in the dorms, but we will be getting close to full now, and they will want to shuffle rooms again.
Then, we just need some commercial space, so they can start doing the sorts of necessary daily activities that a town needs.
That quest for daily work experience is going to be more important than ever. ]
With their rewards claimed, and the essentials prepared, the majority of the town turned in for some much needed sleep, while only a few struggled through to remain active.
Gerry and a few in the kitchen, and the two Tinkers.
Other than that, it was just the ones who did not count as heroes who were awake and prepared to guard the city.
They manned the turrets along the outer walls, their minimal mana regeneration barely enough to keep up with the turret when working in a group. But if anything made it to the walls, they would all be in great danger.
The system said that they had time, but nobody trusted that there weren’t any monsters left, even after the entire compound had been swept for Goblins.
The recent danger was too intense, and none of them could relax.
Even the apartment buildings had guards on the main floor again.
Kalli sat behind the counter, with the holographic display of the town’s layout brought up from the desk.
Slowly, she made plans for the city, adding buildings, altering the existing ones to add needed upgrades, and ensuring that there would always be enough supplies for them, even if an individual aspect was damaged.
There was really only one part of the city that they could not afford to lose, and that was the power plant. So, she made plans for that as well.
If she put a greenhouse over it, she could use the {Storm Resistant Greenhouse Barrier} that was awarded after the second trial to protect it.
That would leave the actual greenhouse open to the elements, but it had been upgraded to a much more sturdy building than it had been, so it should be an acceptable tradeoff, if the new greenhouse held the more valuable crops.
[ Why didn’t I study architecture? If I had known that this was how I was going to end up, I definitely would have taken some courses on it while I was still in school.
What good is coding, when I’m building a city? ]
Then, Kalli realized there was still some use for her computer skills, and they were System related.
She could program the displays in all the rooms of the residential buildings to show users their system screens, points and even an equipment list from their inventory. That would save some searching, and it would let them show each other that they really did have what they promised when making a trade.
Perhaps not the most impressive of upgrades, but a quality of life improvement that would help them budget and help the forgetful find stuff they buried in their inventory.
With an internal messaging system added, it would become an all in one interface for daily life.
