"If there is no problem, I want to deal with first while you two get rid of second and third", said the fourth.

Feeling the "Is it okay to have this guy fight on our side?", gaze from Sera, the girl from the church of calamity directly said.

’Don’t worry it’s safe, this technique’s effect is why I asked you to even give those guys some time to somewhat debate while in the middle of a fight before interrupting them midway’, said Laila in a way that only Sera could hear.

That’s right, in case you have wondered how come the enemies had the time to chat with each other in the middle of a fight with two enemies that know how much of a "sin" it is to give the opponent a break midway through a fight, well, there you have it, it was arranged to be that way by Laila, all in in preparation for this.

As to why such a thing was needed, it’s because the cliché she used was the "A hero’s ally doesn’t feel appreciated and changes sides to join the villain", Laila had progressed with her manipulation capacities after two different experiments on different subordinates.

The first time she managed to get intel but was interrupted by the safety locks placed by Ereth on that guy, the second time having learned her lesson, she used the controlled enemy in a much more direct way, to for a moment make an opening for Sera to attack and it worked fine, but it was still imperfect.

Well, you know how the saying goes, the third time’s the charm, for the third chance she went with the strongest controlling cliché she had knowledge of, which was making the enemy himself deflect to their side, it was hard because Laila had never seen the cliché properly in action.

Marcus tried to do it a couple of times, but he honestly sucked at it, so the result was never it, that time when basically the whole members of a planet mostly mortal populated ended up slaughtering each other, was one of such cases.

Anyway, with Sera’s help, Laila set things up so that the other seconds in command would look with bad eyes at the fourth, slowly but surely, she met the conditions for the technique, until he finally felt "unappreciated" by his allies and changed sides.

"Won’t that guy get in the way like before?", asked Sera to which Laila smiled as she answered.

’There is a limit of five minutes and it won’t work on him nor the others again, nor can we directly order the controlled one to die or anything along the lines of it, but even the safety locks prepared by him can’s interrupt this technique, so long as the target had changed sides "willingly" like it happened here’, said the girl from the church of calamity.

What’s more, someone as annoying to deal with as Ereth naturally has measures against his subordinates not only being controlled but also in case they betray him, and since this counted as the fourth rebelling, they should have activated, but... Laila’s energy was tricking said measures into not noticing what was happening with the fourth, very much to the shock of the other seconds in command.

"What the hell is going on, did fourth actually betray us, but if so, why is he not dying in horrible pain like he should!", exclaimed the third who had become the obvious target after having his weakness exposed by the fourth.

"It’s that darkness user woman, she... managed to trick Lord Ereth’s safety locks, but it should not be something that can be maintained for too long, as she is far from being a match to a chosen one like him", said the first, unfortunately just as he was about to add further instructions for the third and second, the fourth suddenly disappeared from his previous position.

"Black Fierce Devil Sea Step", the fourth whose hair had dyed black, appeared in front of the first the next second.

"Booooom!", both spells clashed midair and resulted in a fierce black water rain accompanied by mana from both the first and the fourth.

Unfortunately, the second and the third had no time to see who came out on top, because Sera who had turned into a white energy stream came out of space not too far from them, she had the permanent energy condensed sword courtesy of Laila’s words of gratitude, on her right hand.

"Black Fierce Seabed Rock Wall!", the second changed to his own affinity since his water affinity was bad just like how it was for the fourth with earth, by forfeiting the water element, he managed to shorten the casting time and since the spell was replicated by the now remaining six subordinates while the third of the seconds in command manually casted his and the first and the fourth were facing each other on the side, only a total of eight black rock walls blocked Sera head on.

"Humph!", the girl from the church of light directly slashed her sword at them and... cleanly cut through the first four of them in a single go, to better organize themselves the second had changed the order of the defensive spells.

Normally the ones of the seconds in command are both placed next or right behind the other, however since there were only two seconds in command in the formation, the second aimed to wear out Sera’s attacks, so he placed his spell and then three from the subordinates, next was the one of the third followed by the ones of the subordinates.

This was also to give a bit more time for the third to cast his spell since he was no longer able to replicate the spells of others, it was honestly not a bad plan, but the second was still underestimating Sera’s fierceness.

"White Bursting Sword!", because while the permanent sword used all of its energy in that slash and had to be left aside temporarily as it recharged itself, another sword was condensed out of white energy for Sera to wield, what’s more this one suddenly tripled its size upon being wielded by Sera’s right hand.

"Crack!", naturally the defensive spell manually casted by the third accompanied by the ones of only three subordinates had nothing to do against Sera’s technique, she directly cut through them with just the physical impact of the bursting sword, but wait that wasn’t all, earlier Sera used white flashing step which prevented her from using the dual wielding version of the bursting sword, but now she had a "permanent" weapon, which she used to both get rid of the first half of the defensive spells and wait for the "cooldown" of her technique casting capacity, which was of two techniques at the same time as of current, to reset.

In other words, from having one casting chance available, she got back to have two but it didn’t last long because she casted the bursting sword, the self-motivation enhancement technique didn’t count for it by the way, so even when the bursting sword tripled its size, Sera still had one casting chance available.

But before we get to that, the three sword condensations which were created by Sera casting the bursting sword, had an open path towards the enemies after Sera had destroyed their defensive spells, that being said they also had another casting change and the second was able to react in time to use it, though quite forcefully as he is not the first.

"Black Fierce Sea Current Step!", the second had no choice but to go with a movement spell, because amusingly enough he was the opposite of his "brother" third and thus he had it easier to cast them, contrary to what one would believe considering that his affinity is solid black rock more suited to static defense.

"White Piercing Step!", and here the early reset casting chance that Sera had earned by using the permanent energy sword earlier came into action, as the girl from the church of light used her own movement technique at the same time as the enemies.

’What, did she not cast two of those sword spells separately!’, thought the second as they moved at high speed, he confused the permanent sword which was recharging while it floated behind of Sera as of current as an instance of the white bursting sword having been casted silently before Sera jumped into space.

You can’t blame him, even the first thought the permanent sword was created by the judgement sword technique, so this took him completely by surprise, and it wasn’t on Sera, she didn’t try to hide it in the slightest so the upfront boost activated.

And speaking of boosts, the self-motivation enhancement technique doesn’t count, so the secondary attacks and the sword condensations that were created by the piercing step and casting it respectively, grew stronger as they were shot towards the flashing enemies.

"Damn it, Black Fierce Seabed Rock Wall!", the second directly casted his defensive spell in front of the group, only for it to be instantly bombarded by both the secondary attacks of the piercing step and the sword condensations on the spot.

"Crack!", the wall crumbled apart as soon as it had appeared, but that’s not what was important right now, but the fact that with her enhanced movement technique, Sera had reached the enemies before both the third and the subordinates had replicated and manually casted the defensive spell used by the second not to mention that this was their second casting change which had just recovered, as they used their movement spell as well.

In other words, there was nothing in between Sera and those seven right now, not to mention she had a bursting sword which had tripled its size on her right hand, though the physical impact had been used up already, it still had all of its energy intact, because the enemies had forfeited the water element which was used to wear out some of the energy from Sera’s attacks.

"Black Fierce Seabed Sand Storm!", seeing the white sword shinning as it released its contained energy turning into a large white stream that advanced towards them, the third changed the spell he was using from the one used by the second, to one of his own, similar to the fourth, this way he was able to shorten his casting time, the resulting spell will be weaker instead of course, but right now he only cared about survival.

"Booooom!", the white energy stream clashed with the waves of black sand and directly obliterated them, however the third’s spell managed to change the trajectory of the energy release from Sera’s sword, so that the third was not cut in half as intended.

"Agh!", that being said, that was a desperate movement and thus it wasn’t even close to be perfect, so while the third managed to pull off a "miracle" of sorts right there, one of the remaining six subordinates lost his lower body and another one lost an arm.

"White Piercing Step", Sera actually stopped chasing after those guys and returned to Laila’s side not without leaving behind another round of secondary attacks and condensed swords to block the enemies in case they tried to turn the table on her.

Sera appeared just in time for the girl from the church of calamity to nod at her.

"Well done", said Laila, which resulted in a second permanent sword to appear behind of Sera, the first one was just about to be recharged, so the girl from the church of light instead used the new one.

"White Judgement Sword!", Sera pointed her new permanent sword frontwards and an energy condensation suddenly appeared in front of the subordinate who had lost his lower body but had a layer of black rocks sealing his wound, he should have died but was receiving emergency treatment from the second.

"Clang!", the second used his trident to block the white energy sword that was aiming to pierce through the chest of that subordinate, his eyes contracted at the fact that his hand went numb due to the collision.

’Are you kidding me, from such a distance a mere energy condensation can produce such a solid impact!’, he swore to his insides, here an interesting fact, the judgement sword technique did not produce sword condensations by being casted, probably because it was a technique meant to be used against enemies at a really long distance, so the condensations would just waste energy but wouldn’t be able to land on the enemy, the boosts from both being used upfront and the self-motivation one were properly applied to it though.

’Third, what are you doing, use a spell to help me destroy this thing’, said the second, in a way that only the third could hear, he didn’t want to use one of the group’s casting chances and since the third had lost half of the connection he could use spells independently from them, way more easily and faster too, like he did earlier.

’B-But, what if that woman attacks me before my casting chance resets, I was barely able to make it out in time earlier, I’ll help with my trident as well instead’, said the third, amusingly enough he also didn’t do as the second wanted now that he was in the same situation as the fourth.

"Clang!" he still helped that subordinate who was almost cut in half by Sera, to block the sword condensation with his trident ultimately destroying it, don’t forget that Sera only gets a chance for the judgement sword per every attack that should have killed an enemy which landed on it, but didn’t do so, which means that the judgement sword technique was over for now.

"So, the material used to create the third had a strong wind affinity, it’s weird that he sucks at movement spells then, that’s one of the specialties of the wind element", said Sera.

The sand storm spell he used to change her energy release’s trajectory was different than the one he had used earlier, not only because it was the "fierce" version of it, but because it had wind mana mixed into it.

It was similar to the spell used by the fourth earlier in the part that the third became able to use it after half of his connection with the group was lost, but that wasn’t his single time per day usage spell, as the healing one from the fourth was.

’It must be that guy’s ritual doing, probably a part of the price that had to be paid in exchange for the replication ability, his single usage spell must be a movement type one, I don’t know why he didn’t resort to it though’, said Laila to which Sera frowned.

"So, he didn’t feel cornered enough, I can fix that", said the girl from the church of light, apparently feeling offended that the enemy didn’t use his last resort to save himself from her attacks earlier, well she still got two subordinates, though they lived, with the first still clashing with the fourth they couldn’t be healed, one was basically useless because if he was attacked the rock layer that was sealing his wound crumble and he will die, as for the one who lost his arm, his battle prowess was weakened enough for him to not be able to properly stand against Sera either.

"Damn", the second was now feeling the pressure of his subordinates not being able to use a domain, because that way even if they were to suffer wounds on their bodies, they could still offer proper assistance through their domains.

Laila vanished into countless black particles which disappeared as well, giving Sera the green light to charge at the enemy.

"White Flashing Step", the girl from the church of light turned into a white energy stream and entered space making the second directly cast an attack type spell.

"Black Fierce Seabed Rock Dagger Rain!", the spell was replicated by the subordinates but the third chose not to use his casting chances, still, countless black rock sharpened daggers condensed and shot in every direction, destroying the seeds of Laila’s illusion which were the closest to their position on the spot.

’You guys had used that tactic too much already, Sera has already overcome the need to appear as close to you’, thought Laila.

Sera jumped out of space, at indeed a distance that allowed the enemies to cast another spell, which was of course a defensive one.

"Black Fierce Seabed Rock Wall!", this time even the third manually casted the same spell though, so eight defensive spells blocked Sera as she came out of space.

But there was something different this time, not only was she wielding a permanent energy sword on each of her hands, but judging by the wide smile on her pretty face, she had achieved something she has been trying for since earlier.

"Dual White Bursting Sword~", with a happy voice that didn’t match the huge killing intent that accompanied the technique she just used, Sera actually casted the dual wielding version of the bursting sword right after the flashing step one.

This became possible because her control over her energy had improved when the second permanent sword had taken form, what’s more the casting time needed for the dual wielding version had shortened enough to rival the casting of the normal version, courtesy of the permanent swords which acted as a base for the technique.

"Crack!", just by pointing the swords which tripled their size, frontwards, a strong pressure was released by them destroying half of the defensive spells, that wasn’t even the physical impact of the swords, it was a mere byproduct of it.

"Boooom!".

Like Sera said, she was going to corner the third into using that single usage spell, so she then proceeded to slash both swords, the remaining defensive spells exploded on the spot and then the energy contained in them was released expanding in two directions as it aimed to engulf the third.

"Black Fierce Seabed Sand Step!!!", the third who saw his life flashing in front of him in the incoming huge pair of white energy streams coming his way, directly used the equivalent of the healing spell used by the fourth earlier.

As a result, he actually seemed to imitate Laila, as in the third turned into a small sized black sand whirlwind that then dispersed into the air, that was actually a movement spell that allowed him to move through space!

’Oh no you won’t, heroes are not the only ones with escape related cliches’, thought Sera as she became visible far from the area where Sera was attacking those guys, to then extend both of her arms sidewards.

Black energy gloves covered her hands which then produced black energy threads that sank into the space close to them.

"Boooom!", the space where the third had disappeared cracked and the third who was being restrained by black threads was forced out of it.

Laila closed her fingers and then moved her arms on the opposite direction at which they were being pointed at, it looked as if she was hugging the empty air in front of her, the result however was not related to such a happy thing in the slightest.

"Crack!", the black threads constricted themselves around the body of the third, breaking the bones of his arms and legs on the spot.

"Aghh!", and that was the third screaming due to pain.
