Reincarnation into the Barrier Master
Episode 159: Hospitality in the Village of Ditas
We checked the village of Ditas from above. We stepped down into the woods a little further from the village. When Soleil was brought down from Illimo, countless yellow, tiny lights appeared in the woods.
"Hey, Soleil. What's that light?
"It's the spirits of the forest. Looks like they're welcoming us."
Talking about it, a big light approaches us from the back of the woods. If you look closely, she was like a dwarf wrapped in yellow light.
"I'm protecting this forest. I'm Spirit Cradle. We welcome you, blessed by God. Let us guide you through these woods."
"My name is Soleil, with the protection of the Divine Dragon and Silius. Sweet for your words, I ask you to guide me through this forest."
"Understood."
"Guide us to the village of Ditas. Note that this is my master, King Agarta, Lord Linos. And it's its beloved horse, Lady Illimo. I hope it's not crude."
"I'm in awe"
When I wondered if the cradle had disappeared, the forest spirits were showing me the way to the village of Ditus in a row.
"Soleil, something... amazing"
"Naturally. It is only natural for spirits to be in awe, because they have a covenant with the highest dragon among spirits."
"A dragon is not just a sweet child."
"Your husband... the dragon will piss you off..."
Soleil stunned me. Sure enough, that Ferris, who doesn't move at all, has enough power to bring a lot of surprise. In that sense, I don't know how awesome the dragon is, maybe I don't have the taste.
"Come on, let's go."
In the way Soleil prompted us, we went through the woods.
We arrived in the village of Ditas without delay. At the entrance to the village stood a young man who seemed to succumb, guarding the village. They rushed over when they saw me.
"Could it be King Agarta?
"Oh, yeah. Linos is fine with me."
"Oh, it's Master Linos. I didn't know you could really come! I've been waiting for you, come on, go ahead!
Carefully guided into the village by the young people of the village of Ditas. If you look closely, those were the men who came to Agarta with the village chief, Zimbi. And when he was led to Zimbie's house, he was amazed at all the jumping up.
"Oh, Master Linos! Isn't that Master Linos! I didn't know you could really come. I saw your letter yesterday, and I didn't think... I can't stand the joy of seeing this jimbi in your eyes. Thank you. Thanks!
Zimbie falls on her knees and breaks her hips many times.
"Come on, Zimbie. I'm here on my own. Don't be so afraid. No, I was just wondering, so I asked you to come by. Don't worry, I'll be home as soon as I'm done."
"No, that's not how it works! Here you go!
I'll sit in front of the furnace as recommended by Zimbie.
"We will call the villagers. Please wait a moment!
I look around Zimbie's house in the fire behind the furnace. It's only the village chief's house and the house is huge, but there's nothing luxurious about it. Bows and arrows, spears, firewood stacked up to near the ceiling that I think will be used for hunting... There was only the least that needed to be lived.
"Your husband... this is Hawan's fur"
Soleil accidentally leaks the word. At the end of her gaze there was a rug where we were sitting. Sure, fluffy and very comfortable to sit on.
"Hawan?"
"It's a very warm, light-haired, shika-like demon. It's so alarming that it's hard to hunt. This rug... it's very upscale."
"I see. That's all. We're important guests."
Talking about that, Zimbie brought a bunch of villagers into the house.
"Everybody, sit down... The real King Agarta Linos is here. You saved our village. You worried about the village again this time, and I came all the way down here. Thank you all."
The villagers come to thank me orally. When you look at it, it's just old men and women and children. There are some young men, but quite few.
"So, what's the food situation in the village?
Zimbie shakes her head with a sigh.
"With this heavy snow, we're in a state where we can't move. I almost ran out of food."
"Right... I knew you'd be glad to come. I was worried. The food Zimbie brought home would probably be the limit, but I didn't send a single messenger, so I thought maybe."
"You worry about a small village like ours, etc..."
Tears are telling on Zimbie's cheek.
"Well, you don't have to worry. I brought some good food. You won't starve for a while. Don't worry."
Ooh, and voices from the villagers.
"King, can I ask you one thing?
When I turned my gaze to those who spoke, a girl about middle school was standing up.
"Lilith! Shut up! You're being rude to King Agarta!
"Zimbie, fine. You said Lilith... or something? What do you want to ask me?
The girl, called Lilith, laid her eyes down for a moment, but eventually opened her mouth as she had decided to.
"Why are you feeding our village? There's nothing in this village? What are you gonna take from us?
"Lilith!"
Zimbie's voice clings to the large room. Lilith unwittingly closes her eyes and lowers her body.
"... right. Lilith, you're right. You think so? No, you're right. I don't even know this. I was trying to support food for some reason. Because we're enemies from your point of view. It's hard to tell you to support food in that enemy country, huh? I felt Zimbie's desire to protect the villagers by turning away his will and pride as village chief. Well, tell me, is it because I felt like rewarding Zimbie for that intent?
Lilith stared at my face for a while but eventually nodded small.
"Okay. I'm sorry to hear that."
I send Lilith a smile. Zimbie looked a little relieved, but eventually soon became a nervous face.
"Dear Linos, I'm afraid you're here, but I'd like you to listen to us."
"What's up?
"We have had many discussions since Lord Linos gave us food. And we have come to the conclusion that we will serve the Agarta nation in the future. Master Linos, I'd like you to add us to the distribution. Stay down, please."
Below Zimbie, everyone gathered there was lying flat on me.
"Oh, oh, don't. Don't. You don't have to do that.... I don't mind adding this Ditus Village to the distribution, but then Ramaron's gonna attack us, okay? Then this village will be ravaged. What are we gonna do about that?
"No, don't worry about that. We follow Ramaron on the face."
"Ho."
"But I will pass on Ramaron's information to Master Linos one by one. Some young people are in the Imperial Army. We'll get word from them about the army and tell Master Linos."
"So you're gonna be a spy?
"Yes. That's the only way we'll survive. I've been thinking about some of the ways to pursue the Empire."
"Uh-huh."
I roar looking at the ceiling. And when I looked back, the gaze of all the villagers gathering there was gathering on me. That's when I noticed a little discomfort.
At the end of my gaze, a young woman sits down. He's a villager no matter where he comes from. But uncomfortable. I keep watching the woman silently. The woman also noticed my gaze and stood still looking me in the eye.
"... Master Linos?
I control Zimbie with my hands. At that moment, a woman tried to sew among the villagers and escaped.
"Don't let them get away with it! Capture him!"
Hearing my voice, the young men holding back quickly chase the woman. Zimbie goes after him, too. All of a sudden, the scene has become noisy.
After a while, an earlier woman was brought in in a way that could be drawn to the men.
"Hey, Giffilo, how did you get away with this?
Zimbie is speaking to the woman.
"Well, is that Giffiro?
"Yes, I'm the wife of a man named Malov in my village. No way..."
"Apparently, you're not a normal wife, are you?
"Giffilo! Are you kidding us? Hey, say something!
Giffilo is silent as he leans down.
"Zimbie, it's no use. You don't have to be a spy to break your mouth."
"Spy... Dear Linos... how did you know this woman was a spy..."
Zimbie asks with a strange face.
"Oh, the villagers breathed rough when I was listening to you. That's right. You're dying alive. But this woman wasn't breathing rough. You think it's suspicious, don't you?
Zimbi kept his eyes open and kept staring at Linos.
