Chapter 1522: End of Colossuses Part 15
Vanguard Guild Hall Assembly
"What am I seeing?"
"My goodness... These are all the highest-ranking people."
Many members were left in a daze when they saw the people at the center of the platform. They were all high-ranking members that they rarely got to witness together unless it was a major event, such as those guild sieges.
Two Guild Commanders, Guild Captain, Four Elite Team members leader... but where was the Guild Leader?
Soon, many were confused by the absence of the Guild Leader.
Hell, even their Honorary Elder wasn’t present when usually either one of them would be around if the other wasn’t.
"Where is the Guild Leader?"
"Isn’t this a large summoning?"
"Silence!" Veronica’s voice quickly resounded. Despite holding the Guild Captain rank, many had secretly treated her as the Vice Guild Leader.
Thus, the scene immediately quieted down.
"The Guild Leader is currently doing an important mission on behalf of the emperor. I’m sure many should know that since you all received a similar mission about the pouring of substance at very close distance."
As soon as Veronica finished her explanation, many accepted it without any doubts.
Some were only curious as to what the special mission was.
After all, Veronica’s cryptic statement was equivalent to saying that the current state was caused by their Guild Leader.
This was some big news!
"Now I know some of you are probably spies and will report this, so let me give you some more intel to report. Our Vanguard Guild isn’t a pushover. If you start a war with us, then we will go to war." She declared solemnly.
All along, it had always been Xu Feng dealing with these big bullies, shielding the guild members.
But that was about to change now.
Although the members showed a fiery expression, who really knows that some of them were spies for another guild.
Nevertheless, they still felt a chill running down their spine.
Who didn’t know their current enemy was Super Guild Razor Nightmare?
So, based on Veronica’s statement, they could interpret that as a declaration of war for Razor Nightmare.
"So are we going to war right now?" A guild member suddenly raised their hand and asked.
"Yes and no!" Veronica replied.
"What I’m about to say is extremely confidential, so if any member were to suddenly disconnect from here on. We will label you as a traitor. Of course, if you know you do not have the time, you may log off right now." She gave an ultimatum.
And to ensure the mission was private, Veronica enabled the guild features, which restricted members from accessing their private messages.
Some might call this feature a censorship type, but they were free to leave the guild anytime.
Some hesitated about whether or not to accept the arrangement.
After all, they didn’t really know what they were going to do, especially when they were really a spy.
However, if they refused the arrangement, it was difficult to not be suspicious.
A few minutes later, not a single member opted out of the operation.
"Good, anyone who leaves after this moment will be considered an eternal enemy of our Vanguard Guild," Veronica stated solemnly. Once she said that, she took a step back and gave the stage to Carmen.
Usually, when people glanced at Carmen, they might find her somewhat aloof and cool. But today, they felt a cold chill—one that pierced through their bones.
"Who offended our Guild Commander?"
"I feel pressured just from trying to give a little stare."
Carmen ignored their reaction to her behavior. Without Xu Feng’s presence, she didn’t even wish to show much expression.
That was also how she behaved when she first met him, anyway, until he slowly made her open up as they continued to interact.
’Sigh, I already missed Feng.’ She really didn’t want to do any speeches.
However, she had to take up some of the responsibility.
According to Veronica, she was the only one doing the majority of the guild’s activities aside from Xu Feng.
If this continued on, then once she got overwhelmed, the guild would be left in shambles.
The only viable solution was to promote more people to take on responsibility, but there were trust issues.
Just because one contributed a lot to the guild didn’t mean they had loyalty to the guild.
This was a point that Xu Feng had repeatedly emphasized.
"The end of the Colossuses is near, so I’m sure you know what that means. The lands that were previously occupied by other guilds that were conquered would be up for the taking. Our objective today is to reclaim the lands that the Super Guild operated." Carmen declared thunderously.
Soon, the list of Super Guilds’ territories was sent to everyone present.
It didn’t even take a few seconds before some of them became stupefied.
"Holy smokes, aren’t these all Super Guilds who targeted us before alongside Razor Nightmare?"
"This is crazy! We’re going up against multiple Super Guilds!"
"We’re actually initiating this time?"
While the majority were stunned, many soon became excited and even trembled in agitation.
How many could imagine that there would be a day when multiple Super Guilds would become the prey?
Needless to say, the spies who were currently trapped found themselves in serious trouble.
Some of the list happened to be the very guild they spied on.
’Damn it... this is too dangerous to pass on!’ A spy gritted their teeth and ultimately chose to log off.
And like a domino effect, as soon as one logged off, the other spies also logged off to inform their superiors of this news.
After all, none of them doubted Vanguard Guild was boasting. They had just been informed the end was caused by them, and with Carmen as the bane of existence to many joining the fray, alongside the disappearance of the Guild Leader.
It wasn’t hard to imagine the horrific scene if they were to delay the intel.
’Hmph, a bunch of traitors.’ Carmen remained silent at those who logged off.
But deep inside, she was feeling a burning desire to ruin them for good.
