Chapter 548: I Love You, You Love Me 8
Xylas Shepherd and Nathaniel Locke would be heartbroken if they heard this.
’Honestly, Mr. Grant... Has he forgotten who was there for him when his wife was about to run off with someone else?’
’So ungrateful!’
Annabelle Linton looked at his pitiful expression and asked, "Were you really that bored?"
"I woke up two hours before you did, and you just kept sleeping..."
Annabelle Linton wearily pinched the bridge of her nose. "Alright, then," she said, her voice hoarse.
Leona Grant broke into a smile, hugging her and planting a kiss on her cheek. "Thanks, honey."
Annabelle Linton rubbed her eyes and smiled back at him.
Of course, she had to get ready before going out.
She washed her face again, applied some moisturizer, and sat down at her vanity to put on her makeup.
Leona Grant pursed his lips, standing in front of the closet to pick out an outfit for her.
His eyes finally landed on a white short-sleeved blouse and a navy blue, puffy miniskirt. He took them down and held them out to her. "Honey, how about wearing this today?"
Annabelle Linton looked at him while dabbing on her foundation, raising an eyebrow. "Why?"
"Because I want to see you in it."
’The real reason was that Annabelle Linton’s usual colors were too monotonous. While they gave her an ethereal air, they didn’t quite suit her age.’
’Leona Grant wanted her to be happy every day, to wear her joy in the clothes she chose.’
Annabelle Linton wasn’t particularly fussy about clothes. This was mainly because she had good taste and an exceptional air about her, so she looked good in anything. As a result, she never spent much time thinking about her outfits.
So she just nodded. "Okay."
Leona Grant smiled.
She put on the outfit, applied her lipstick, and she was all set.
Leona Grant fastened the last button of his shirt, slipped on his jacket, and leaned against the front of the car to wait for her.
He had a tall, upright frame, a perfect specimen of the golden ratio. This was enhanced by his custom-tailored clothes and his uniquely aloof and noble air. Faint light casually traced the flawless, sharp contours of his face, making him so handsome it was infuriating.
Hearing a sound, Leona Grant looked up. When he saw her, a look of sheer admiration flashed in his eyes.
Annabelle Linton hadn’t really dressed up much—she had only put on some light makeup. Her long legs, high heels, and long hair were all part of her usual look.
But even the simplest clothes looked good on her.
Leona Grant couldn’t help but say, "Wow, honey, you’re so beautiful."
Annabelle Linton gave him a faint smile. "Let’s go."
"Mm," Leona Grant replied. He opened the car door for her, waiting until she was inside before closing it and walking around to the other side to get in.
They drove to a restaurant and had sushi. For some reason, that’s what Annabelle Linton was craving today, and Leona Grant, of course, was happy to oblige, spoiling her to no end.
After dinner, the two of them went to the supermarket.
There was nothing left in the house; if they didn’t buy groceries, they’d be eating dirt.
Leona Grant pushed the cart as they shopped. Anything Annabelle Linton glanced at for more than a second, he would place in the cart without hesitation.
They drew quite a few stares along the way.
He was the kind of person who could cause a stir even just by showing up at a supermarket.
To be honest, Leona Grant had never gone grocery shopping like this before. At most, he would just buy something and leave. This was the first time he’d ever browsed the aisles.
’But shopping here with Annabelle Linton... this feels so blissful.’
’He loved eating with her, sleeping next to her, talking with her—even just looking at her without doing anything at all.’
’He wondered if anyone else could understand this feeling, where just seeing her was enough to instantly lift his spirits.’
’He’d come here before and seen Annabelle Linton shopping with Aaron Wyatt, and he had been so envious.’
’Back then, he thought he’d lost his chance forever.’
’But he never imagined Annabelle Linton would be willing to give him another one...’
