Chapter 1053 - 1026: Sorry, It Was an Accident for Me Too
Even though Qian utterly detested the protective work gear she was wearing, thanks to her strong psychological fortitude, she still calmly headed towards the classroom assigned by the teacher.
The big boss actually treated her okay, generally not making her substitute teach or monitor exams. The tasks given to Qian were always highly practical, especially in the past year, they always involved cases that Qian herself believed she had never encountered before, allowing her to explore and practice.
With clinical experience from her previous life, Qian was always able to handle things well. She was certain that this time the big boss had given her a case she had never encountered in this lifetime. Should she pretend it’s a bit challenging to show the teacher...
After all, if she handles it too easily every time, the teacher might not find joy in nurturing skills, right?
With these thoughts in mind, Qian stood at the classroom door. Before entering, she heard someone speaking from behind.
"Bu Li, I still have class, don’t come..." said a young girl’s voice.
"What’s the rush? Didn’t they say today’s substitute is a half-baked one? If I don’t come, you’ll end up getting bullied to death!" another male voice replied coldly.
Qian raised an eyebrow. Half-baked?
"I said it’s not a big deal, okay? Can you go back to work? I still have to study!" the girl almost pleaded.
"Bullshit! Study what? I just can’t stand these half-baked substitutes hired by your school. Let a graduate student take over the first class? I fucking hate those damn grad students, they haven’t even figured it out themselves and are already misleading students, teaching rubbish!"
1, 2, 3, 4... Such a long line filled with so many vulgar words, and delivered so fluently, totally at odds with his pleasant voice.
As the target of so many insulting words, Qian turned around curiously to take a look.
She couldn’t tell if the two behind were siblings or a couple. Judging by appearances, Qian preferred to believe they were siblings—the girl’s looks were vastly different from the boy’s, nowhere near like a couple.
The girl had a rather plain face, plump, resembling someone over 120 pounds, wearing an extremely ugly pair of black-framed glasses, utterly unremarkable in a crowd.
The boy who spoke rudely was extremely handsome, with slightly dark bronze skin, long limbs, thin lips, a high nose bridge, slender eyes, and bloodshot eyes suggesting lack of rest.
The most distinctive feature was the boy’s ears; his outer ears were pointy, a bit like cat ears, quite endearing given his appearance.
However, as a professional psychologist, the moment Qian saw this face combined with that way of speaking, her mind started racing.
This Bu Li, could he be the easily recognizable patient the teacher mentioned? But looking at his physique, he didn’t seem like a student. He looked more like a laborer due to his fit muscular build visible under his tight-fitting shirt.
Qian’s gaze scanned him from top to bottom. Bu Li wore labor protection pants similar to hers, paired with a white, tight long-sleeve tee, covering him head to toe, much to Qian’s slight disappointment for lack of information.
If it were summer, she could gather more information.
"What are you looking at? Move aside, don’t block the way!" Bu Li rudely said to Qian.
The girl beside him quickly apologized, "Sorry, classmate. Are you also going to class? Let’s go in together!"
Qian looked younger than her actual age, and since she had skipped grades twice, the junior students mistook her for just another classmate attending class instead of the "half-baked" substitute teacher for the day.
"Why do you talk so much nonsense? You’re so annoying!" Bu Li scolded the girl.
The good-natured girl with glasses smiled apologetically at Qian and followed Bu Li into the classroom.
When that girl smiled, she had a deep dimple, which made her face look somewhat familiar... Qian shook her head; such an ordinary and chubby girl was quite common, easy to forget amongst the crowd.
"Bang!"
Qian noticed that Bu Li entered the classroom in an agitated manner by kicking the door and pulling the girl with the glasses inside.
Just as Qian was about to head into the classroom, she heard a loud clamor from inside, as if some commotion had erupted.
Upon entering, Qian saw that Bu Li had started a fight with someone.
"Was it you who put thumbtacks in Xiaoya’s shoes?" Bu Li yanked the collar of a long-haired girl, pulling her off the bench.
The girl was delicate-looking, obviously from a well-off family, terrified, her face turning pale under such treatment.
The plump girl beside Bu Li tried to grab him, "Bu Li, let it go—"
"Shut up!" Bu Li barked at the girl, then pointed angrily at the girl he had pulled up.
"Speak! Was it you who did it?"
When some boys came forward, Bu Li drew a dagger from his waist and stabbed it into the table with a snap. "I’m not looking for trouble, so if it doesn’t concern you, back off, or I’ll beat all of you. Speak up, woman!"
Qian stood by the door watching the scene, concluding that this was just the childish bickering between freshmen roommates.
Some students from better-off families enjoy bullying those from regular backgrounds. After entering university, students generally mature, and bullying incidents decrease, shifting from physical bullying in high school to psychological bullying. For example, ostracizing a roommate with less favorable conditions, like not talking or eating together. Judging by her simple clothing, the plump girl might come from a financially constrained background and was bullied by the long-haired girl.
Bu Li, for some unknown relation with the plump girl, came charging in to stand up for her.
Qian never bothered with such matters as long as no major event happened in her class. Everything has a cause and effect, and Qian found it quite entertaining to see someone being retaliated against after bullying others. She casually walked to the podium, leaned against it, and watched.
The long-haired girl caught was trembling with fear; she never expected a boy to be so violent and unsympathetic.
Seeing the girl shiver without speaking, Bu Li pulled out his knife, making her scream.
"Don’t hit me!"
"Speak! Was it you who put thumbtacks in Xiaoya’s shoes?"
"I-I didn’t mean to... I just accidentally left them there... Luo Xiaoya, say something!"
Seeing the girl showing no sign of remorse, Bu Li suddenly grabbed an entire box of something from his pocket and quickly dumped it inside the girl’s clothes at lightning speed, pressing down with his hand, making the girl wail in pain.
"Sorry, a whole box of thumbtacks accidentally fell in as well."
Bu Li showed his teeth as he said darkly.
Qian rubbed her temples, encountering a violent guy on her first day substituting. Truly a string of bad luck. Also, who exactly is the problematic student the teacher mentioned?
