Chapter 303: Warlock
The voice was incredibly resonant, echoing in all directions and making many hearts pound in their chests.
Liao Feiying could feel the fierce determination and killing intent in Qin Tuo’s voice, and a chill ran down his spine.
Seeing Qin Tuo about to charge, Liao Feiying, in a moment of desperation, could only turn and scream his lungs out.
"Master Wu Jing, please, help me kill this little thief!"
Everyone was stunned. Following Liao Feiying’s gaze, they saw he was pleading for help from the mysterious, cloaked figure in the audience.
Beneath his cloak, Master Wu Jing remained expressionless and motionless. He clearly had no intention of intervening just yet.
Seeing this, Liao Feiying was instantly plunged into despair.
A sudden thought struck him, and he hurriedly yelled out again.
"Master Wu Jing, if you’re willing to help, I’ll give you all of the Liao Family’s precious medicinal herbs! I’ll give you every treasure in our collection!"
Liao Feiying blurted it all out in one breath, his heart pounding with anxiety.
Right now, all he cared about was saving his own skin, and ideally, having Qin Tuo killed. At a time like this, worldly possessions were meaningless.
At these words, Master Wu Jing was finally moved.
Clad in his black cloak, he suddenly rose from his seat in the audience and soared toward the fighting ring.
The sight made many people gasp in astonishment.
Qin Tuo immediately halted his attack. His eyes narrowed as he carefully observed the man.
Master Wu Jing landed at the foot of the ring, then slowly walked up the steps.
He carried himself with the air of an otherworldly master, making it impossible for anyone to gauge his true capabilities.
"Hahaha! Master Wu Jing is making his move! Qin Tuo, you little bastard, you’re dead meat today!"
Seeing Master Wu Jing finally step onto the ring, Liao Feiying was instantly overcome with ecstatic joy, his arrogance and insolence returning in full force.
But Qin Tuo shot him a single, cold glare. The frigid look sent a shiver through Liao Feiying, and he didn’t dare to gloat any further.
As Master Wu Jing stepped onto the ring, an invisible, sinister aura emanated from him, making everyone in the audience feel a chill crawl up their spines.
People began to murmur amongst themselves. Who was this man? Why did he seem so strange?
Master Wu Jing was sizing up Qin Tuo, and Qin Tuo, in turn, was observing him.
Meanwhile, Chen Man Ni and the others couldn’t help but feel their hearts ache with worry for Qin Tuo all over again.
They all remembered Ouyang Feifei’s warning and knew very well that this mysterious, cloaked man was no ordinary character.
Master Wu Jing finally spoke.
"Young man, I see you have great potential. That being the case, why not take me as your master? I can teach you a far superior Cultivation Technique. What do you say?"
During his observation, Master Wu Jing had noted that despite his youth, Qin Tuo possessed immense strength. He clearly had great potential.
Thus, the thought of taking him on as a disciple had crossed Master Wu Jing’s mind.
But taking a disciple was secondary. The most important thing was to resolve this crisis without shedding any blood.
After all, Master Wu Jing knew he was a Jianghu Warlock, and many of his peers could be lurking in the shadows.
Therefore, it was best to avoid making a move in broad daylight.
Hearing this, Liao Feiying’s lips began to tremble with anxiety.
He couldn’t help but say,
"Master, you mustn’t do that! How could someone like him ever be worthy of inheriting your mantle? Wouldn’t that be an insult to you? You must kill him and enact justice for the heavens!"
Liao Feiying gulped nervously as he spoke, carefully watching Master Wu Jing’s reaction.
’If Qin Tuo becomes Master Wu Jing’s disciple, what will happen then?’ he thought.
Then, out of respect for Master Wu Jing, the Liao Family wouldn’t dare to move against Qin Tuo anymore.
At the same time, Liao Feiying understood deeply that his fate now hinged on a single word from Qin Tuo!
If Qin Tuo nodded in agreement, the Liao Family itself could be in danger of being annihilated.
Seeing Liao Feiying babbling on, Master Wu Jing shot him a cold glare.
"I am speaking. Why are you interrupting? Shut your damn mouth!"
Liao Feiying shivered with fright and immediately fell silent.
This scene sent the crowd below into another round of speculation.
"Heavens, who on earth is this so-called Master Wu Jing? He made the Liao Family’s Patriarch shut up with a single sentence!"
"Yeah, it’s so strange. Liao Feiying is one of the four leaders of the Martial Artist Alliance, a man of high status. How dare someone speak to him like that!"
Even Huang Zhen and Qiangwei, who were also among the four leaders, looked completely baffled.
They racked their brains but couldn’t figure out when such a formidable figure had arrived in the Provincial City.
At this moment, Master Wu Jing’s eyes were fixed on Qin Tuo, awaiting his reply.
A confident smile played on Master Wu Jing’s lips; he was certain Qin Tuo would not refuse his offer.
After all, for a Warlock of his status to choose a disciple from among these Martial Artists was nothing short of a blessing.
Countless people had begged to become his disciple, and all of them had been refused.
’Therefore, there is no way Qin Tuo can refuse such a great temptation today!’
However, Qin Tuo slowly shook his head.
Master Wu Jing’s expression immediately darkened.
"Boy, I advise you to think this through. Don’t be so quick to refuse me!"
There was a hint of ice in Master Wu Jing’s voice.
But Qin Tuo just smiled contemptuously and said,
"The last fool who wanted to take me as his disciple was killed by my own hand. What makes you think you’re any different?"
As his words fell, everyone held their breath in shock.
Everyone knew that Master Wu Jing was mysterious and terrifying. For Qin Tuo to refuse him so cruelly, he was surely in for a world of pain.
Liao Feiying, however, heaved a huge sigh of relief, a gloating smile spreading across his face.
’Boy, you were given a chance and you blew it. You might as well just lie down and die!’
Master Wu Jing chuckled in anger. He decided to put on a little display to intimidate Qin Tuo.
He let out a cold snort and casually waved his hand.
A thick fog suddenly rolled in, enveloping the entire ring in the blink of an eye.
As the crowd watched in stunned silence, the ring, which had been left in a state of utter ruin, was instantly restored to its original, pristine condition!
The sight made everyone’s eyes go wide with disbelief.
"Heavens, no way! Are my eyes playing tricks on me? That’s a feat only an immortal descended from the heavens could perform!"
"I get it! This Master Wu Jing isn’t a Martial Artist at all. He must be a Warlock, like in the legends."
Instantly, someone in the crowd who had seen through Master Wu Jing’s true identity couldn’t help but cry out in shock.
