Chapter 310: Medicine King Valley
After a long silence, Qiangwei suddenly frowned and spoke up.
"Mr. Qin, I think there’s more to these girls’ deaths than it seems."
Qin Tuo asked,
"Oh? And why is that?"
Qiangwei answered seriously, recalling,
"Liao Feiying is ruthless, capable of any evil, and incredibly cunning, but he’s never had this sort of... predilection. I doubt he’s the one who did this."
Qin Tuo nodded, admitting that Qiangwei had a point.
However, for the deceased, none of this mattered anymore.
Qin Tuo knew the only thing he could do was bring peace to the souls of these poor victims.
"Give these girls a proper burial. Let them finally rest in peace."
A hint of sorrow tinged Qin Tuo’s voice, and a heavy weight settled on everyone’s hearts.
Heads bowed in silence, the disciples of Rose Hall set about their task.
Qin Tuo turned to Qiangwei beside him and gave her a grave instruction.
"Qiangwei, I need you to investigate this thoroughly. Find out what really happened. You must get to the bottom of it and bring these girls justice!"
Qiangwei nodded firmly, her eyes filled with determination.
"Mr. Qin, rest assured. I will get to the bottom of this!"
At that moment, Qin Tuo looked up at the resentful energy filling the sky above the courtyard and sighed softly.
For Qin Tuo, this resentful energy could be converted into a considerable amount of Spiritual Power.
But Qin Tuo didn’t do it. He couldn’t bear to absorb the resentful energy of these poor girls.
’If I did that, how would I be any different from a demon?’
With a gentle wave of his hand, Qin Tuo used his Spiritual Power to wash away and disperse all the resentful energy in the air.
"Sigh... rest in peace, and move on to your next life,"
Qin Tuo couldn’t help but mutter to himself.
Chen Man Ni and Ouyang Feifei both closed their eyes, mourning in silence.
Just then, Qiangwei sent someone to tell Qin Tuo to come over at once.
When Qin Tuo reached the surveillance room on the third floor of the villa, he found Qiangwei’s face contorted with rage.
"Qiangwei, what did you find?"
Qin Tuo was confused as well.
Qiangwei pointed and said,
"Mr. Qin, come take a look. I just pulled up the surveillance footage."
Qin Tuo went over to look and saw one infuriating scene after another playing on the screen.
Only then did they realize that the person responsible for all these girls’ deaths was none other than Master Wu Jing.
"How despicable! Qin Tuo, you let that Warlock off way too easily by killing him so quickly!"
Chen Man Ni seethed, unable to suppress her murderous impulse.
Qin Tuo finally understood, as well. That was why the ghosts unleashed by Master Wu Jing had carried such potent resentful energy.
’Now it all makes sense. They were nourished by the lifeblood of these girls, which is why the resentful energy was so intense.’
Recalling the horrific scenes he had just witnessed, a flash of red appeared in Qin Tuo’s eyes.
He slowly muttered,
"Southwest Blood Moon Pavilion..."
Hearing Qin Tuo mutter those words, Qiangwei asked in confusion,
"What is it, Mr. Qin? What did you just say?"
Qin Tuo shook his head and said wearily,
"Oh, it’s nothing..."
After watching the footage, everyone fell silent. A deep sorrow spread through their hearts.
Just then, Qiangwei had someone else come in, carrying some files and a large sack, which were placed before them.
"And what’s this?"
Qin Tuo glanced at the items.
Qiangwei said seriously,
"Mr. Qin, these files are records of the Liao Family’s various assets and business contracts. As for the sack... it seems to be full of medicinal herbs."
Qin Tuo couldn’t care less about the Liao Family’s contracts, but he could feel an incredibly dense Spiritual Qi emanating from the sack.
His eyes instantly lit up, and he eagerly opened the sack.
Sure enough, a variety of herbs, all over a hundred years old, poured out. They emitted a potent medicinal fragrance that left everyone staring in astonishment.
Qin Tuo’s eyes gleamed as well; the sheer quantity of herbs was substantial.
Moreover, a closer look revealed that every single herb was of the highest quality!
Qin Tuo couldn’t help but ask,
"Qiangwei, where did all these herbs come from?"
He thought to himself, ’Even though the Liao Family is one of the four great families with a hundred-year legacy, it’s unlikely they could have amassed so many precious herbs.’
Qiangwei pulled out a contract and handed it to Qin Tuo.
"Mr. Qin, look. This contract clearly states that the Liao Family purchased all these herbs directly from Medicine King Valley!"
A flicker of confusion crossed Qin Tuo’s eyes as he spoke.
"Oh? Medicine King Valley? Who are they? I’ve never heard of them before."
It was clearly the first time Chen Man Ni and Ouyang Feifei had heard of Medicine King Valley, and they looked equally perplexed.
Qiangwei explained,
"Mr. Qin, you may not be aware, but Medicine King Valley is located not far from the Provincial City. It’s a major sect that specializes in refining medicines and has powerful backing in the Capital City. They collect herbs from all over the world specifically for Alchemy, and they generally don’t sell their supply to outsiders."
However, Qiangwei’s words only made Qin Tuo more puzzled.
"If that’s the case, how did the Liao Family manage to buy so many herbs from them? And all of them are incredibly precious, hundred-year-old specimens?"
Qiangwei frowned, pondered for a moment, and then said slowly,
"Mr. Qin, my guess is that the Liao Family was willing to spend an exorbitant amount of money, so Medicine King Valley decided to make an exception and sell to them."
Qin Tuo nodded. Now it made sense.
’No wonder I couldn’t find this many quality goods even in Jin City, the so-called Medicine City. It turns out Medicine King Valley has hoarded all the world’s precious herbs for themselves!’
’And since they rarely sell to outsiders, they’ve effectively monopolized the entire supply of top-grade herbs.’
Qin Tuo suddenly recalled a scene from the arena and asked,
"Qiangwei, back then, Liao Feiying took a green pill that caused his power to surge. Could that pill have also come from Medicine King Valley?"
But Qiangwei shook her head without a moment’s hesitation.
"I don’t think so, Mr. Qin. As a prestigious and righteous sect, Medicine King Valley only sells medicines that strengthen the body. They would never sell such a corrupting drug."
Qin Tuo nodded thoughtfully. The pill Liao Feiying had taken was clearly something evil; a righteous sect would never refine such a thing.
And even if they did, they certainly wouldn’t let it fall into outside hands.
Qiangwei then recalled something else and added with a smile,
"There’s something else you might not know, Mr. Qin. It’s rumored that the current Valley Master of Medicine King Valley, Sun Liyi, is a descendant of the legendary Medicine King, Sun Simiao. Who knows if it’s true, though?"
Qin Tuo merely smiled at such rumors, remaining noncommittal.
