"What... what do you mean?" General Ling Tian was stunned by Wu Tian’s words.

"Heh." Wu Tian blew gently on his hot tea. "Ordinary fat is a burden, but the fat on your body is different. Within this fat lies an immortal power. If you can make good use of it, your combat strength will be at least double what it was before."

"Of course, if you wish to fully seize this opportunity, you must become my disciple."

After speaking, Wu Tian set down his teacup. He rose leisurely to his feet, clasped his hands behind his back, and walked toward the exit of the grand hall, his grandmasterly air undeniable.

"Wait." General Ling Tian sensed there was truth to Wu Tian’s words. Although the fat slowed his speed, he had noticed that whenever he was exhausted, a refreshing current would emanate from it, considerably easing his fatigue. At that moment, he felt Wu Tian might be right.

"Mr. Wu Tian, are you saying this fat is a blessing? Can you please clarify? Explain it to me!" Ling Tian called out anxiously to Wu Tian’s retreating back, but Wu Tian didn’t stop.

The general was distressed. His life’s greatest joy was fighting for the people. News had recently arrived that the Azure Empire was planning to attack the Xiuyuan Realm, and as a general, he had to go into battle. But he also knew he was no match for Zhan Sha, leaving his heart in turmoil. Then, one day, he woke up to find himself suddenly transformed into a "fatty," a change he found impossible to accept. This had led him to summon physicians, hoping they could provide some clarity.

And now, Wu Tian is claiming my fat is a blessing? I vaguely sense he’s right, but how do I use this fat? And he said this is just one of my opportunities... does that mean there are others?

He desperately hoped Wu Tian would elaborate, but the man didn’t even look back.

Ling Tian was at a loss. Should I stop him? No, that would be impolite. Besides, I might anger him.

"Have you been having any recurring dreams lately?" Wu Tian asked as he walked, never pausing or looking back. The Investiture of the Gods, after all, contained clear records of the strange phenomena Ling Tian had recently experienced.

"You... you know about that too?" Ling Tian shuddered. Indeed, he had been having the same dream over and over again.

"I know about your dream. In it, you are on the sea with seven other figures, are you not?" Though phrased as a question, Wu Tian’s tone was one of certainty. "As I said, you have two paths to understand all of this. The first is to become my disciple. The second is to join the Blood Refiners Guild!"

By the time he finished speaking, Wu Tian was gone, his figure disappearing from Ling Tian’s sight.

"General," the household soldiers murmured, looking to Ling Tian for guidance.

"I don’t know," Ling Tian replied, his expression hesitant. He was a general, but a decision like this was difficult for him. Years of military life had taught him one thing: every decision comes with a price.

"Summon Military Physician Mo," Ling Tian ordered with a wave of his hand.

Military Physician Mo was the top army doctor in Ling Tian’s military camp. During battle, no matter how great the victory, there were always wounded soldiers, so army doctors were essential. Military Physician Mo was the one who usually treated Ling Tian.

Soon, Military Physician Mo arrived. "General, why have you summoned me so urgently?" He held immense respect for Ling Tian.

"When I suddenly grew all this fat, you were the first person I called. You said... this flesh is poisonous and needs to be cut off?" Ling Tian pointed to the rolls of fat on his body.

"Indeed," Divine Doctor Mo said with a confident smile. He was very young, barely in his twenties. Unlike other physicians who were unwilling to serve in the military, he embraced the role, which was how he had risen to his current position. "General, you’ve always been skeptical. You believe that cutting off this flesh is too cruel, which is why you summoned all the physicians in the capital. But I suspect they couldn’t discern the true nature of it either. Their only suggestion was excision, right?"

Ling Tian nodded. The other physicians had also said to cut it off.

"But today, Mr. Wu Tian had a different opinion," Ling Tian added.

Hearing this, Divine Doctor Mo’s pupils contracted. He shook his head and said, "Mr. Wu Tian is very powerful, but he is not a physician."

"He said my fat is an opportunity," Ling Tian said, his brow furrowed, admitting he no longer knew who to believe.

"General, this fat must be cut off," Military Physician Mo insisted, stepping forward and pointing at the flesh on Ling Tian’s stomach. "Mr. Wu Tian cannot match my medical expertise. After all, every trade has its specializations. You must trust me. If this fat is not removed, it will be nothing but a burden! I suspect it is poisoned flesh that must be—"

He only got that far. As if possessing a Spiritual Nature of its own, Ling Tian’s fat suddenly flexed. A blast of energy shot toward Military Physician Mo.

"What?" The physician had no time to react. Who would have thought a lump of flesh could actually hit someone?

PFFT. He spat blood as he was sent flying backward.

"This flesh... it’s truly remarkable!" His face frozen in shock, Ling Tian finally understood that his new fat was not useless. He thought for a moment, then tried punching his own belly. The fist that could normally shatter mountains felt like it had hit a bale of cotton; the force vanished without a trace.

"How can this be... I was... I was wrong." Watching this, Divine Doctor Mo’s eyes darted about before he immediately apologized. "General, forgive me! I was too young and short-sighted."

"It’s not your fault. Go and rest," Ling Tian waved him off.

"Yes." Divine Doctor Mo breathed a few sighs of relief and departed.

After Divine Doctor Mo had gone, Ling Tian’s gaze sharpened. He pointed to a household soldier. "You, investigate him. And while you’re at it, check if he has any connection to the other physicians who came to examine me today."

With the Azure Empire preparing for war, Ling Tian had to be cautious and suspicious of everything.

"Yes, sir." The soldier nodded and left to carry out his orders.

Alone in the hall, Ling Tian rubbed his belly. He could sense an inexplicable presence within it—a kind of power he had previously mistaken for some sort of toxic gas.

"I must figure out what is going on," Ling Tian murmured, his mind made up.

But become a disciple of Wu Tian? I can’t do that. I’m a middle-aged man, and Wu Tian is just a youth. Become the disciple of a young man? Absolutely not.

"Wu Tian said there are two paths to understanding this," Ling Tian reasoned. "Since I will not choose the first one, it seems I should join the Blood Refiners Guild." He nodded to himself, though a question then arose. Since when did Blood Refiners have a guild?

He immediately dispatched someone to investigate whether a guild for Blood Refiners truly existed.

If someone has created the Art of Blood Refinement, he must be a venerable, white-haired senior, a supreme expert. Ling Tian felt that becoming the disciple of such a person would be far better than following Wu Tian.
