300. Another Venerable’s Inheritance
Lo Jik’s divine sense spread into his human path blessed land. It approached a peculiar city. It was an impressive gu house comprised of millions of mortal gu worms, appearing like an obsidian gem from the distance.
Emperor City!
It was the number one mortal gu house in the gu world, controlled by the ten great ancient sects.
Several ants crawled around and within this gem. These ants were none other than Lo Jik’s clones. There was no one set of clones studying this gu house. It incorporated gu worms of several paths and was extremely complicated to unravel even with Lo Jik’s clone. Of course, single-mindedly focusing on Emperor City would make the task several times quicker. But Lo Jik simply had too many things going on. He would have already worked himself to death if he worked alone and did not have the support of his clones. As such, he placed moderate focus on this mortal gu house. In fact, he had already collected some information from this gu house.
There were several curious things about Emperor City.
The greatest mystery about this city was the fact that it got summoned by his trait.
His trait could not summon items that were owned by others. This was a broad and general category and did not include resources owned by, say, a remnant will. Even if a will could think and respond, it was no true living being and did not have any ownership rights in the gu world. His trait could even summon living creatures, such as beasts, indicating the fact that beasts were also not considered creatures with the right to own anything because they were properties to be owned themselves.
However, Lo Jik never summoned any human or variant human. Although enslaved by others or living in a blessed land waiting to be inherited, his trait did not consider them as properties.
Now, Emperor City was already owned by the ten great ancient sects. How could Lo Jik’s trait summon it?
His clones worked day and night—studying the gu house—to answer that very question.
And they just did.
It was all thanks to his augmented formation path attainment.
Gu houses were condensed formations that moved like a fortress. Though not quite at that level and unable to move on its own, Emperor City was the peak of mortal gu houses. It would have taken Lo Jik’s clones longer to completely unravel the gu house but the sudden boost of their shared formation path attainment instantly reduced the necessary time substantially.
And that’s when everyone realized…
‘These truly aren’t gu worms. No wonder I summoned Emperor City. There is a super-sized painting path killer move on its surface!’
Lo Jik was a painting path grandmaster and he still couldn’t deduce the truth until now. Whoever created this painting surpassed one’s imagination. And only one name came to Lo Jik’s mind.
Genesis Lotus Immortal Venerable.
Emperor City was jointly owned by the ten sects. It indicated the fact that this gu house was actually Heavenly Court’s property!
Lo Jik did not acquire the gu house but an extremely lifelike painting of the entire gu house. Every structure, wall, street, and other aspects of infrastructure were nothing but a painting. This painting was so detailed that it even mimicked the gu worms used to form the gu house, eluding Lo Jik and his clones for such a long time. But the fact that he summoned this painting instead of the entire gu house implied that the Heavenly Court owned Emperor City but not this painting path immortal killer move.
Genesis Lotus Immortal Venerable was Heavenly Court’s third Immortal King. Why would he not disclose the existence of this painting to Heavenly Court? This painting would have also been Heavenly Court’s property if they were aware of it.
As for why Lo Jik summoned a painting path inheritance?
That’s because Emperor City had a deep connection with human path. Lo Jik had already deduced the fact that it was the single greatest conglomeration of human vein and produced great human talents. Emperor City actually had human path effects and this painting somehow displayed it fully.
‘But this is good.’ Lo Jik dispelled the earlier idea of dismantling the gu house. First, he couldn’t really dismantle it because it was all a huge painting. Second, this painting could actually support Lo Jik’s painting path cultivation.
His desire to visit Emperor City increased greatly. This was just a part of Emperor City. What else could it be hiding?
There must be a reason why Genesis Lotus Immortal Venerable left behind this painting path immortal killer move. Lo Jik hadn’t even begun to grasp its complexities yet. He also had greedier intentions.
His trait could not summon immortal gu worms.
Did Genesis Lotus Immortal Venerable leave behind any immortal gu in Emperor City?
Lo Jik hummed to himself and increased the production of Painter gu worms. He needed to prioritize this killer move. After all, it withstood the test of time and survived for so long without dissipating. It was of the same nature as Divine Concealment, a perpetual killer move.
‘Painting path… alas, its materials are even rarer than theft path.’ Lo Jik smiled wryly. He truly couldn’t refine several immortal gu worms due to the limitations of immortal materials.
Tackling this issue was already on Lo Jik’s list of more immediate goals.
‘I should also return to Hu Immortal Blessed Land. Wait, I should first appease Hu Mei Er before doing anything else. That’s equally important.’
Lo Jik snickered and used his human path killer move to enter his blessed land.
It wasn’t long before he returned to Hu Immortal Blessed Land, several times stronger and more capable than before. But how could all this get to his head. As he returned, he didn’t let go of the golden opportunity to cultivate.
He spent a long time practicing several immortal killer moves. It was costly due to the expenditure of immortal essence but he also possessed several immortal essence stones. Practicing was one thing. Hu Immortal Blessed Land had Dang Hun Mountain. Lo Jik had to keep up with the pretenses and spend several hours using Guts Gu.
He also spent time with Shu Zhe, simply enjoying life and mortal chores. Things were always simple with Shu Zhe even if they didn’t squander all their time fucking like rabbits. Shu Zhe, though aging gracefully, felt physically tired at times. The thought of ascension also burdened her mind. She wanted to become a gu immortal but was reasonable enough to realize that it was not the correct time yet. Only Lo Jik was willing to support her no matter the cost, but even he was caught by the issues of Tian Ti Mountain. The effects of the beast tides were already settling. It was strangely quick and efficient even without the interference of other gu immortals. But it was like the calm before a storm. More desolate beasts will rise from the mountain and vie for territories.
How could Lo Jik have enough strength to help her advance when he couldn’t even leave Tian Ti Mountain safely?
She needed a safe location to begin her breakthrough. Tian Ti Mountain was no longer an option. And Lo Jik needed time to settle such issues. This left Shu Zhe in an awkward state, which strained their relationship occasionally.
Though Shu Zhe was not the type to act moody, it was challenging for her not to reveal her thoughts and emotions around Lo Jik. And her disappointment and sadness at the current state of affairs also left Lo Jik sighing. He could only comfort her with the ways he knew and occasionally spent time discussing a few refinement techniques with her to help improve her success rate in refining certain wisdom path gu worms.
There were also Qin Juan and Sun Yao. They were younger than Shu Zhe and less burdened by the future. Qin Juan’s most recent breakthrough saw her attainment leaping from quasi-master to a full-fledged refinement path master. She was always hard working and thoroughly comprehending the insights of Roaring Dragon Water Light killer move helped her pierce through her bottleneck. Her demeanor also shifted considerably, reflecting her greater attainment. Though still the same flustered firecracker around Lo Jik, she was more reserved when seen in public. Her reputation within Dang Hun City also soared as a rare elite disciple with a master-level attainment!
Subsequently, Qin Juan got rather occupied by accepting requests from other elite and inner disciples to refine the gu. She rarely allowed these requests to obstruct her from spending more time with Lo Jik. Like others, Qin Juan was also aware that Lo Jik’s stay in Hu Immortal Blessed Land was temporary. He would need to return to Tian Ti Mountain and it was simply too dangerous for them to follow him. Though slightly reluctant, Qin Juan even voiced her opinion of entering Lo Jik’s blessed land.
Just because she was inside Lo Jik’s blessed land did not imply she would get to be with him longer. In fact, they might even reunite for fewer times than the usual. But Qin Juan wished to leave with Lo Jik.
Of course, he did not agree. So be it if he took away Qin Juan and others, but how would he meet them without setting his blessed land down? And when would he get the time to do that? Even if he did not meet with the girls personally, his strength path blessed land was only in its earlier stages of development and there was nothing much for them to do. He understood where Qin Juan was coming from. She wanted to make him feel appreciated even at the expense of her own future. But that wasn’t needed. So, he let her down easy and conveyed his gratitude clearly.
Sun Yao, on the other hand, lived a rather blissful life. Her luck signified how she was slowly getting closer to her aim. The more she spent time with Lo Jik, the clearer the shadow in her luck grew.
Meanwhile, Feng Jin Huang secretly cultivated dream path. Lo Jik had completed her Shatter Dream killer move. Its core was none other than Lo Jik’s earlier Shatter Dream Gu, but it did not just affect the self-dream realms. Once activated alongside Accumulation Gu or Accumulation Immortal Gu, it also affected manifested dream realms. But as considered before, he wouldn’t waste a dream realm like this unless absolutely necessary. Her newfound passion in dream path compelled Feng Jin Huang to constantly seek Lo Jik’s counsel. He was more than happy to help her whenever he had the time. Of course, Lo Jik continued maintaining the pretense that his understanding of dream path didn’t surpass Feng Jin Huang’s imagination by a huge margin. More often than not, his counsel was more like researching several things with Feng Jin Huang and then, of course, giving her very good reasons to have sweet dreams after a few hours of work.
Lastly, Lo Jik continued selling Bandit Giant materials in Treasure Yellow Heaven and traded such materials for better prices with Black Moon. Strangely enough, Black Moon’s mood was even worse than when they left the public blessed land. Different from before, Lo Jik did not desire her Group Strength Gu recipe. Long Hair true inheritance possessed several recipes for rank 5 Group Strength Gu, something he already refined and incorporated in his Self Dharma immortal killer move.

Speaking of this killer move, Lo Jik also let his refiner and hairy men clones deduce recipes for tailor-made gu worms meant to improve the killer move’s resistance to all the different paths. This was a significantly more time-consuming process. Coupled with Lo Jik’s more recent practices with food and dream path killer moves in preparation for his act, his human path cultivation suffered quite a setback.
Lo Jik still needed to increase the number of human path dao marks on his second blessed land. While he could deduce a similar killer move to Fickle Body Strength, it would only work on a single human path desolate beast, and even those were extremely rare. Fortunately, Lo Jik had a clear direction for the killer move and already deduced it a great deal. Acquiring Chen Jiu’s dual cultivation method further improved Lo Jik’s killer move.
All he currently lacked was enough time.
Thankfully, he was not relying on his human path foundation and could masquerade as a food and dream path dual cultivator. Using compound killer moves utilizing dream and food path dao marks wouldn’t conflict with each other in this case and instead make use of the whole 18000 dao marks on his body when using False Transformation immortal killer move! Such a display of might would truly be shocking!
The fact he had the relevant immortal clones helped because Wine Drinker and Dreamer Immortal Gu Worms could practice a few killer moves and directly increase Lo Jik’s proficiency as he practiced a human path killer move with space and theft path effects.
He finally deduced a method of dealing with Love Gu by the thirtieth day of his stay in Hu Immortal Blessed. Six days had gone by since the beast tide on Tian Ti Mountain. Things were calming in a swift fashion and it was almost time for Lo Jik’s departure.
Naturally, he secluded himself to prepare for this eventuality. However, he was not anxious.
Several gu worms surrounded Lo Jik. Three immortal gu worms stood out conspicuously among the countless human path and formation path gu worms. These three were rank 6 Accumulation Immortal Gu, Second Aperture Immortal Gu and Fake Aperture Immortal Gu.
Once used, the one-time consumable Second Aperture Immortal Gu would produce a second aperture inside the target’s body! This was an outstanding immortal gu worm. Through a killer move, one could even get rid of its consumable trait and use this immortal gu worm to create second aperture within countless gu masters and gu immortals. It could singlehandedly ruin the current balance of the gu immortal’s world where all gu immortal would massacre countless enemies to further nurture their second blessed lands.
Fake Aperture Immortal Gu, on the other hand, also created a pocket of space similar to an aperture. But this pocket was like the immortal apertures held by the immortal clones. These immortal apertures could store gu worms and essence but not other lifeforms like a real blessed land.
Lo Jik carefully activated the immortal killer move.
A mystical change occurred inside Lo Jik’s body. An aperture bloomed to life on a spot above his first blessed land.
A third immortal aperture!
However, this aperture was empty. It was merely a spacious pocket.
Keeping all the gu worms away, Lo Jik sensed the third immortal aperture and realized it was almost like the real deal but without a blessed land. This immortal aperture also had a door and could interact with the outside world.
Opening its door, Lo Jik gently picked Love Gu off his shoulder and stored it inside the third aperture.
Love Gu did not resist at all. It did not sense any danger to its existence and entered the third fake aperture.
Oomph.
Lo Jik felt slightly stuffed. Fortified by the use of Accumulation Immortal Gu, this third aperture’s capacity was at the same level as a peak rank 7 gu immortal’s blessed land. It was just enough to bear the burden of Love Gu Worm’s dao marks. Even so, Lo Jik sensed that this third aperture was already at its limits. Only a grotto-heaven could bear the burden of a rank 9 immortal gu. Else, a blessed land needed to be connected with the main continent like Hu Immortal Blessed Land or the sect’s public blessed land.
‘But it works.’ Lo Jik sighed in relief. This was the final missing piece limiting Lo Jik’s mobility. He had spent far too long worrying about Love Gu. Either way, he could not control its activation or its effects, but luck path helped him influence Love Gu. Now he also tackled the issue of Love Gu being outside his body. This was problematic because most movement immortal killer moves needed to account for the movement of the immense number of dao marks inside the legendary rank 9 immortal gu worm. Back then, it took a sub-formation connected with one of the immemorial desolate core beasts to account for Love Immortal Gu and allow Lo Jik to enter Immemorial Desolate Grotto-Heaven.
How could Lo Jik just keep such a beast inside his blessed land or sneak inside Lang Ya Blessed Land with Love Gu on his shoulders? He may as well be holding a huge neon signboard.
However, an immortal aperture was an isolated small world. The pressure from the dao marks inside Love Gu would not affect the real world when confined inside this fake third immortal aperture.
And so, the last of Lo Jik’s preparations concluded.
He merely required an opportunity to gain great benefits.
After all, he never stopped communicating with Old Man Lang Ya in Treasure Yellow Heaven and sold it tampered products. The land spirit greatly desired the Disaster Pearls he could produce. Earlier, Lo Jik spun a lie how the Disaster Kittens were dead. But the more Lo Jik sold these pearls, the skeptical Old Man Lang Ya grew. But the land spirit was helpless. He could not force Lo Jik, or rather Faceless Transformation Immortal, to sell something against his will.
And a steady stream of luck path immortal materials was simply too good to give up.
All this allowed Lo Jik to steadily influence Lang Ya Blessed Land using dream path dao marks. While he developed another movement immortal killer move, there was no reason to quit his earlier dream path invasion system. In fact, Dream Trap killer move was even more effective ever since Lo Jik incorporated Accumulation Immortal Gu into the mix. It became a true dream path immortal killer move!
Nobody in the current world could defend against dream path methods. So, Lo Jik was confident in his chances.
‘But… I feel there is still some time.’ Lo Jik deduced after collecting information about Lang Ya Blessed Land’s condition through Dream Seek immortal killer move. The range of Dream Seek far surpassed its mortal counterpart, allowing Lo Jik to spy on Lang Ya Blessed Land without the latter’s knowledge.
Already being so prepared so quickly made Lo Jik experience a similar emotion Shu Zhe had to endure these days. She was ready to ascend but needed to wait for her opportunity. Similarly, Lo Jik was also quite prepared. Yet, he had to remain patient.
He could try invading Lang Ya Blessed Land alone, but it was too big a pie to swallow by oneself. All Lo Jik desired were some crucial elements hidden inside Lang Ya Blessed Land and focus on developing Immemorial Desolate Grotto-Heaven now that it was a true paradise untouched by tribulations and calamities.
‘I took Undefeated Refinement Cauldron with me.’ Lo Jik hummed thoughtfully. ‘I can refine several immortal gu worms. But let’s not hurry. I should spend my time increasing my human path foundation and developing my blessed lands.’
He dove into another project without feeling any awkwardness.
‘But there is an issue. I still lack relevant gu worms for a human path killer move. There’s that recipe for Fake Body Gu Worm, but it’s no longer outstanding because I have simply too many ideas after acquiring Chen Jiu’s method.’
He paused and thought of something else.
‘The end goal is to increase human path dao marks for my second blessed land. Why don’t I use another method instead. The potential of that path is even greater than food path in terms of cultivation.’ The thought was extremely appealing to Lo Jik.
