The road back to Villa No. 1 at Xingyu Mansion passed through a stretch with very little traffic. The moment Yun Zijin’s motorcade entered this section, their path was blocked by cars driving straight at them in the wrong lane.
The sudden braking left visible skid marks on the pavement.
From her seat, Yun Zijin had a clear view through the window as dozens of people poured out of the cars blocking their way. Every single one of them was armed.
Baseball bats, daggers, short knives...
They were only melee weapons, but the sight of so many armed men blocking the road was immediately and intensely intimidating.
"Miss, please wait in the car."
Yun Zijin nodded. ’Of course I’m not getting out to be a liability,’ she thought. ’I don’t have the kind of plot armor you see on TV, where the heroine can walk through a hail of bullets without a scratch.’
Qin Sitong nervously gripped Yun Zijin’s hand. "D-did they get the wrong people?"
Siting was sure she hadn’t offended anyone. And as for Yun Zijin, she knew her friend’s recent schedule—there was no way she could have made any enemies either.

"It’s just some people who don’t know their place," Yun Zijin said. "Don’t worry. Zero One and his men can handle them."
Yun Zijin’s words calmed Siting down slightly, but her eyes remained glued to the scene outside, praying that Zero One and his men wouldn’t get hurt.

Yun Zijin agreed without hesitation.
"Get everyone rounded up! Let’s move out!"
They had expected a vicious fight. They’d brought plenty of backup and were armed, but they never imagined the caller would have the entire situation resolved by the time they arrived.
It felt like they were just here to go through the motions.
The Sielbe Tuatara and the Randomly Spend luxury van followed the police cars to the local J Bureau precinct. Soon, an officer came over to take their statements.
Just then, Tang Yu arrived from Dingsi Building with his assistant in tow.
Everyone at the Dijing J Bureau knew who Tang Yu was. Seeing him arrive, they were surprised. ’Has there been a major new case?’ they wondered. ’What could be big enough to bring *him* here?’
To their surprise, Tang Yu walked straight over to Yun Zijin, stopping about a yard away. "Miss Yun."
"Lawyer Tang, you’re here!" Seeing him, Yun Zijin’s eyes lit up. She immediately turned to the officer who was taking her statement. "Officer, my friend, my bodyguards, and I will now be represented by Lawyer Tang. You can direct all your questions to him."
"Ah! You’re... retaining Lawyer Tang for this?"
’The last thing we want to deal with is a lawyer,’ he thought. ’Every word you say can become a loophole for their defense.’
"That’s right. Lawyer Tang, let me walk you through what happened."
Yun Zijin quickly recounted the entire incident to Tang Yu—the ambush, how Zero One’s men bravely intervened, and how they had only resorted to breaking bones and dislocating limbs in self-defense.
Of course, they had a crucial piece of evidence: the dashcam footage from the Sielbe Tuatara that had been leading the motorcade.
Since Yun Zijin’s cars were all top-of-the-line models, their dashcams were naturally the best available. The footage was crystal clear, capturing the entire incident in high definition with absolutely no blur.
The video footage clearly showed the assailants’ vehicles blocking the road first, followed by the men getting out and advancing on them with various weapons. When zoomed in, you could even see the smug, provocative looks on their faces.
