Chapter 458 - 431: Billson’s Despair
But he had only just finished speaking when Fang Chenyi's voice crackled to life on the walkie-talkie. "Yishou, tell them to throw down their weapons and walk out. We can negotiate."
Liu Yishou froze. 'That voice??'
After a moment of shock, Liu Yishou's face lit up with excitement. He said happily:
"Brother Fang, you're finally awake! Okay, I'll tell them right now. What are our terms?"
Fang Chenyi thought for a moment before replying:
"Just have them line up and walk out. Also, have that Poseidon Robton come out alone. Then send Billson to meet him."
With his orders from Fang Chenyi, Liu Yishou immediately sprang into action. He had one of his crewmen fetch a large bullhorn and began shouting at the opposing side.
On the other side, Poseidon Robton heard the shouting and didn't hesitate for a second. He ordered his men to throw down their weapons, then he was the first to stand and stride out into the open.
Seeing them come out so readily, Liu Yishou breathed a long sigh of relief. He looked over at Billson, signaling that it was his turn to go.
However, Billson was clearly hesitant.
Perhaps Poseidon Robton's influence over him was simply too profound; deep down, Billson was still terrified of the man.
"Oh, Liu, can you come with me?"
Billson looked hesitantly toward Liu Yishou.
By this point, Poseidon Robton had already walked to the midway point between the two opposing sides.
He just stood there, staring coldly at Liu Yishou's group, waiting for Billson to appear.
WHUMP-WHUMP-WHUMP-WHUMP.
The helicopter's rotors thundered overhead.
Then, as everyone watched, it slowly landed behind Liu Yishou's position.
The next moment, Fang Chenyi leaped down from the helicopter. Paying the enemy no mind, he swaggered forward.
"Brother Fang! Why did you come yourself? You're still recovering from your injury, and it's too dangerous here. You should go back to the cruise ship."
Seeing Fang Chenyi, Liu Yishou quickly got up and rushed over to him, his voice filled with concern.
But Fang Chenyi just waved his hand dismissively.
"It's nothing, Old Liu," he said. "I'm perfectly fine. So, what's the story with them? You must have heard that roar just now. I heard it loud and clear even from the helicopter."
Fang Chenyi's first words were for Old Liu, but his question was directed at Billson.
Hearing this, Billson quickly explained:
"Oh, Boss, that was the leader of the Cobra Organization. He's also a member of the Poseidon Clan. And from what I know... his power is immense. Terrifyingly so. You might not believe this, but he can actually dodge bullets! Oh, God, isn't that just horrifying?"
Clearly, Billson's fear of the man was bone-deep.
Fang Chenyi couldn't help but be taken aback. 'He can dodge bullets? His skills are certainly impressive. At the very least, he's in a completely different league from me and Xiaotian.'
Beside him, Liu Yishou was also stunned. He never imagined their opponent was so powerful. 'Dodging bullets... what does that even entail? There can't be many people in the world who can do that. Even if there are, you could probably count them on one hand.'
While they were speaking, another thunderous roar came from the opposite side:
"Billson, if you had the guts to do it, then have the guts to stand up! I'll repeat myself: just hand over the Sea God's Relic, and I swear I will never trouble you again. I'll even give you the Cobra Organization. You know me. I'm a man of my word. Of course, there's something else you should understand even more clearly... and that is the kind of person I am, and what I'm capable of. Even with your air-to-ground support, it's impossible for you to keep me here. I can, and I will, appear by your side when you least expect it... and I will kill you."
The first half of Poseidon Robton's speech was a clear enticement, but the second half was a naked threat.
Of course, had this been the old, pre-brainwashing Billson, he would have scrambled out immediately, pissing his pants in terror, and dropped to his knees to beg Poseidon Robton for mercy.
But now... even though he was terrified to his core, he wouldn't dare take a single step forward. After all, its master was right beside him.
Fang Chenyi reached out and patted Billson's shoulder, silently telling him not to be afraid.
Then, to everyone's astonishment, he strode forward.
Seeing this, Liu Yishou quickly grabbed his gun and followed after him.
It wasn't just Liu Yishou. Nearly all the crewmen stood up at once, following closely behind Fang Chenyi.
Liu Yishou started to say something, but when he saw the look of utter contempt in Fang Chenyi's eyes, he swallowed his words.
"Heh. So you're the boss of the Cobra Organization, Poseidon Robton?"
Poseidon Robton looked at the Huaxia man who was speaking, a flicker of confusion on his face. His eyes darted past Fang Chenyi to the nervous Billson behind him. His tone was ice-cold as he spoke:
"Billson. Don't you think you owe me an explanation? Is *this* the reason you betrayed me?"
The moment the words left Poseidon Robton's mouth, Fang Chenyi saw a blur of motion. A figure flashed past him in an instant.
In the blink of an eye, faster than one could say, the figure was already in front of Fang Chenyi.
Liu Yishou and the others behind him didn't even have time to react.
Fortunately, the target wasn't Fang Chenyi, but Billson, who was standing behind him.
Poseidon Robton charged forward, his hand shaped like a claw as it shot toward Billson's throat.
A strange, guttural cackle, "GYEHEHEH," erupted from his throat.
"Billson! You of all people should know me. There's only one price for betrayal: death."
Watching the hand grow larger and larger before his eyes, the color drained from Billson's face. His heart sank. 'It's over.'
'I was too careless. I should have known better. He's a man who will stop at nothing! How could he ever permit my betrayal? This was all just a facade. His real goal was to kill me all along.'
'The Sea God's Relic was just bullshit. He could just kill me and go get it himself later.'
That was it. Billson knew him, after all. This was Poseidon Robton's true goal.
As a member of the Poseidon Clan and the leader of the Cobra Organization, how could he possibly allow a subordinate to betray him? As for the squad of fully armed men before him? He didn't even see them as a threat. After all, his own abilities had long since transcended the crude weapons they held in their hands.
