Chapter 456 - 429: Coma
"However, when we went down, the first thing we saw was Luo Lanzi lying motionless by the stone wall at the entrance.
"When we saw that, our hearts sank. We quickly checked on Luo Lanzi, but he wasn't breathing anymore.
"We immediately rushed inside and saw you lying on the ground, passed out cold. Luckily, you still had a heartbeat, so we quickly brought you back up."
At this point, Qi Xiaotian paused for a moment before his tone shifted, and he continued with a hint of curiosity:
"The strange thing is, after we brought you back to the cruise ship, the medical team examined you and couldn't find any injuries at all. But even without any injuries, we just couldn't wake you up. We had no choice but to let you sleep. You were out for three whole days and nights. It's a huge relief that you're finally awake."
As he said this, Qi Xiaotian let out a long sigh of relief. If something had really happened to Fang Chenyi, he had no idea how he would have explained it to his sister-in-law when he got back.
But once Qi Xiaotian finished speaking, Fang Chenyi asked in surprise, "You're saying I've been asleep for three days and three nights?"
While Qi Xiaotian had been talking, Fang Chenyi had been trying hard to recall what had happened. Hearing that he had been unconscious for three days and nights left him stunned.
'What kind of Medicine Pill was that? Not only did it make my whole body ache with unbearable pain, but it also knocked me out for three days and nights. I guess I can't just eat the Medicine Pills the system rewards me with anymore.'
He felt a wave of lingering fear, especially when he remembered how Er Gouzi had also fallen into a long slumber after eating a Medicine Pill from the system.
"Brother Fang, how are you? How are you feeling? Are you really okay?"
Fang Chenyi smiled and waved his hand, indicating that he was fine.
Not only that, but as he felt the abundant strength coursing through his body, Fang Chenyi was sure there was absolutely nothing wrong with him.
Thinking of the stone hall and what had happened to Luo Lanzi, Fang Chenyi couldn't help but ask:
"What's the situation at the stone hall now?"
"After what happened to you, Yishou and I discussed it and had our men cordon off the area. No one has gone back inside to check on things."
Fang Chenyi nodded. 'That's for the best. I'm certain now that the Bone Powder inside is a good thing. Consuming it enhances a person's strength, so it's better if not too many people go in there.'
'There's so much Bone Powder... I have to make good use of it. I'll run some tests later. As long as I can confirm it has no side effects, I can build a team of powerful subordinates.'
'But there's just so much Bone Powder in the stone hall. The sheer amount gave Fang Chenyi a headache just thinking about how to get it all out.'
'Never mind the size of the hall; I definitely can't let too many people go down there. If worse comes to worst, I'll just have to dig it all out myself.'
'After all, the fewer people who know about this, the better. If word got out that there's a treasure that can instantly boost a person's strength, it would surely drive many people mad.'
'I've already got a plan. If there's no other way, I'll just stuff it all into sacks and use my Woven Bag Space to transport it back to the cruise ship, bit by bit.'
'No matter what, the first step is to get it all back to Huaxia.'
BANG BANG BANG.
Just as Fang Chenyi was pondering how to deal with the Flood Dragon Bone Powder, a series of crisp gunshots suddenly rang out from outside. It started with just one or two shots, but a moment later, it erupted into a dense, continuous barrage, like a string of firecrackers.
Hearing the intense gunfire, Qi Xiaotian's gaze hardened. Something had clearly happened at the mine.
Liu Yishou was the one holding down the fort at the mine. Qi Xiaotian quickly grabbed his walkie-talkie to ask what was going on, but for some reason, there was no response from Liu Yishou.
A bad premonition welled up in both of them.
After putting the walkie-talkie away, he spoke quickly to Fang Chenyi, "Brother Fang, you rest here. I'll go down and see what's happening."
But Fang Chenyi waved his hand dismissively, already walking toward the door as he spoke:
"Forget it. You stay here on the cruise ship and rest. You're still covered in injuries. I'll go down myself and take a look. Don't worry, I'll take the helicopter. If it's too serious, I won't even get off."
Without giving Qi Xiaotian a chance to reply, he opened the door and walked out.
On the helipad, Qi Xiaotian watched Fang Chenyi board the helicopter, his face etched with worry.
Seeing his expression, Fang Chenyi just gave him an "OK" sign, then signaled for the helicopter to take off.
Both of Qi Xiaotian's hands were broken, so Fang Chenyi couldn't possibly let him go down and take such a risk. Besides, feeling strength surging through his entire body, he was eager to go down and stretch his legs.
With a roar of its rotor blades, the helicopter slowly ascended into the sky. A moment later, it was hovering over the mine.
From his vantage point in the air, Fang Chenyi could see a fierce gun battle unfolding at the mine below.
It looked like a group of over a hundred men were attacking his crew on the mountain.
To Fang Chenyi's frustration, the enemy's firepower seemed intense. Even with the advantageous terrain, Liu Yishou and his men weren't gaining any ground.
The helicopter didn't dare to stay motionless in one spot; it kept circling continuously.
After flying for a little while, the pilot couldn't help but speak up:
"Boss, we can't land."
Fang Chenyi nodded in agreement. In a situation like this, the helicopter had no way of landing. 'Who knows,' he thought, 'they might even fire an RPG or something.'
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP~
The thought had barely crossed Fang Chenyi's mind when a piercing alarm suddenly blared inside the helicopter.
Hearing the sound, the pilot immediately cursed under his breath, then rapidly pulled the helicopter up and away.
WHOOSH~
The instant the helicopter climbed, a streak of fire scraped past it, flying off into the distant sky.
A dozen or so seconds later, BOOM! The fiery streak exploded in the sky like a firework.
'Holy shit, I really jinxed it.'
Watching the dazzling flash of light on the distant horizon, Fang Chenyi couldn't help but shake his head and smile wryly.
'Good thing my pilot is experienced,' he thought. 'Otherwise, I'd probably be falling out of the sky right now.'
