17 Parade

Roche told me not to engage with the Knights, a poetic weave that accepted it, but the desire to "see Crust again" was still not easily discarded.

I also thought I'd sneak up to the castle for a chance to meet Crust, but now that's not easy either.

Roche, who used to leave the store for a lot of days, recently came back to the store even after going out. Give me a reason why I'm here for lunch or to leave the medicinal herbs I bought.

On Shiori's feet, it takes several hours to get back and forth to the castle. I'm worried about Roche, who might come back, and I can't even go see Crust until I leave the store and work to see him unless I'm quite ready.

It would suck if Crust ignored me and scolded me from Roche to dismiss me for being able to reunite.

And even though I was worried about that, my days passed a little bit. Will it be almost two months since I came to this world?

(Aren't you going to be reunited with Crust anymore, because you can't?

That makes me feel better. I felt that excluding the existence of crusts would reduce the enjoyment of living in this world by about half.

Still, there was plenty of hope and enjoyment for Shiori, such as the fact that he had a full job and more acquaintances in this country.

Seeing that the warehouse food was about to get lonely in the morning, Shiori decided to go out and buy it out. Roche seems to be going out to the "back customer" again today, but that seems to be due in the afternoon, so I'll ask him to leave the store later.

Out of the alley onto the main street, the view of the city was somehow unusual. Plants with lovely flowers are arranged at equal intervals, and small stalls and tents are beginning to be assembled all over the street.

This boulevard is always crowded and noisy, but today it's more than that. The city dwellers seemed to be standing up.

(Soon, is it also some kind of festival?

The floating atmosphere of the school before the school festival was remembered, and the poetic weave that didn't know what was going on was somewhat heartbreaking.

Approaching a fairly wide middle-aged woman sweeping down the leaves of the road with a swing, she speaks.

"Hi, good morning"

"Oh, it's Theori."

The woman is the bakery owner that Shiori was going to go to. I got close enough to talk to the public while I was going through it several times. Aromatic wheat aromas emerge from the secluded shop behind her. Attracted by its appetizing smell, Shiori asked the woman.

"The city, the lively atmosphere. Is it a festival?

"Uh, speaking of which, you were just in this country. The city will open tomorrow to coincide with the horseback riding tournament in two days. Readiness for it."

……

To the poetic weave with her neck tilted, the woman explained in detail.

"You know what a horseback game is? A knight in armor rides a horse and fights with a spear and a shield."

Shiori thinks it's kind of a noisy game for a woman who talks to her by imitating spears and shields and adding gestures.

The spear seems to use something with round metal instead of a blade on the tip, but the woman says, "It's normal for an injured person to get out every year. Sometimes there are dead people out there," he said.

The tournament takes place once a year at a time when the season shifts from autumn to winter.

By the way, in this world and Japan, the seasons are dramatically off, like the southern and northern hemispheres of the planet. May is not spring here.

"Look, there's gonna be a stadium on the east end of the city, right? That's where the horseback riding match opens."

Since Shiori is about this boulevard when it comes to places that often go in this city, I didn't know about the arena that is on the eastern edge. Because it is a circular arena, I imagine a Colosseum-like appearance.

The game will only take place for one day, but the city will open the city for three days, mainly that day, and they will be in a festive state. People gather from all over the country and seem to get a lot busier.

Shiori asked, wondering if Crust would be in that noisy game as well.

"Can we take a tour, too?

The woman shakes her head small.

"No, I don't think you can do it without an invitation. The only way to get into the arena is if the royalty has a merchant with power over the nobles. Nobles come from all over the country, or from outside the country, and we don't have seats for ordinary people."

"That's right..."

If there was going to be a crust, I would have liked to see that fight, and the woman smiled funny at the poetic weave that dropped her shoulders.

"Oh, is there a knight who admires you?

"Er..."

I answered after getting a little lost.

"Crust... of Heroes"

"Oh! What a crust. That's not just Ciori, we all want to see it. But don't worry. You don't have to go into the arena to get a chance to see your crust."

"What, really?

Shiori sparkled Dark Brown's eyes.

says the woman.

"You're just opposite the castle with the knights and the arena where the game takes place, right? So the knights go through this city when they head to the arena. On the morning of the tournament, the knights on horseback and the royalty in a dedicated carriage will march slowly down this boulevard without rows."

Women say that the march is like a pre-tournament parade for ordinary people who can't get into the arena. By seeing the brave knights as they usually do, those who don't see the actual game can also thrive.

"If it's the same as last year, Krust should be at the top of the queue, so it's easy to find."

To the added woman's words, Shiori leapt her breasts. For the first time in three years, you might see Crust!

A lot of people will be standing along the road that day, and it may not be possible for Crust to recognize what this one looks like.

But Shiori was still good. On the one hand, you can just find the crust. And then Roche won't be able to complain either.

I imagine I'm sure the crust looks as good as it did three years ago, blushing my cheeks unexpectedly.

The tournament is the day after tomorrow. And the knights go through here that morning. Shiori confirmed the date and time again to the bakery woman and decided to make sure she went to see what the crust looked like.

I'm home.

Buying food all over the basket, Shiori went back to the store. Roche boils a loosely colored liquid like moss in a pot as he sprinkles his cigarettes.

"Did something good happen?

Poetry Weave had no choice but to stifle his gibberish face and become suspicious of behavior because he was told that it was going to be eye-to-eye.

"Beh, nothing but beh...! Nothing, it's true!

I was going to sneak off to the horseback parade by myself. Shiori panicked a lot that we should not find out here.

I'm afraid of Roche looking silent and thinking of something, observing this one. Roche is a lot too sharp for a man, and I don't think Shiori realizes that he's too easy to understand.

After a few tense seconds, Roche shrugged as she convinced herself "... oh, okay". Shiori solidifies in a vicious way.

"That's it. You asked the city guys about the horse riding match. Sure it was the morning after tomorrow? A knight marches down the boulevard... I'm sure the heroes will come."

There was a sloppy cold sweat on Shiori's back. Can't a Roche read someone else's mind? I suspect so.

But we just have to cut Syrah here. No matter how suspicious you are, keep pretending you don't know. Deciding to be ready to fight, Shiori conceited his poker face as he swam his eyes.

"Huh... Huh? About what? Roche, I'm not sure what you're talking about. What's with the knight?

"Don't act angry.... Nothing, you can go watch the parade."

"Huh!?

I accidentally turn my voice back on words I didn't expect. When Shiori placed the basket he had on the counter somewhat rampantly, he stuffed it to the Roche.

"You can go, really!? I'm gonna go check on Crust, okay?

Grab my arm softly and look up at Roche's face. I couldn't believe it and found my eyes round.

Roche answers, stirring the pan in a wooden slab.

"As long as I go to see it, you're fine. There will be a lot of people on that day, and if you can find a hero, I don't think a hero will notice you. However, once I follow --"

"Yay! Thanks!"

I don't care if it comes with a guardian. Shiori gave him a smile that he could play with, and when he saw it, Roche glanced up.
