Besides, with his Peak Master and Senior Sister backing him, he didn’t have to worry about his safety within the Xuanzhen Sect.

And outsiders, even if they were ten times bolder, wouldn’t dare come to Fushan Island and cause a scene.

On the other hand, Yang Jing now truly had confidence.

After breaking through to the Qi Eating Realm, his power had taken a qualitative leap. His Inner Qi was condensed, his body was formidable, and even in the entirety of Jintai Prefecture, he could be considered a first-rate expert.

He was confident enough to handle ordinary opponents with ease.

Yang Jing mulled this over, but his pace never slackened.

He and Bai Bing walked along the mountain path as if on a leisurely stroll, their robes fluttering gently and their expressions serene.

Yet with every step, it was as if a gentle breeze supported their feet. With a single flicker of movement, they would cover several yards, their speed astonishingly fast.

Traveling so lightly, they reached the base of Zhenyue Peak in about the time it takes to drink a cup of tea.

Zhenyue Peak was majestic and its cliffs were steep. From afar, it projected an aura of stability and weight, a stark contrast to the elegant, ethereal beauty of Lingxi Peak.

Without stopping, the two headed directly up the stone steps of the mountain path toward the summit.

Yang Jing remained respectfully behind Bai Bing, maintaining a proper distance.

The mountain was lush with vegetation, still damp with morning dew. A gentle breeze drifted past, carrying with it the fresh scent of plants and trees.

Yet, a faint, elegant fragrance lingered around him—so subtle and refreshing that for a moment, he couldn’t tell if it was the natural scent of the mountain flora or the faint perfume emanating from his Peak Master.

Following Bai Bing’s lead, the two ascended the steps, heading directly toward the inner reaches of Zhenyue Peak’s summit.

Along the way, they occasionally encountered disciples of Zhenyue Peak who were either patrolling or cultivating. Some didn’t recognize them, but seeing Bai Bing’s extraordinary air and Yang Jing following closely behind, they instinctively stepped aside to let them pass.

Most disciples, however, recognized Peak Master Lingxi at a glance. They quickly composed themselves and bowed in respectful greeting.

Though their hearts were filled with confusion, wondering why Peak Master Lingxi would suddenly pay a visit, it was ultimately a matter concerning the sect’s leadership and had nothing to do with ordinary disciples like them. They only dared to whisper amongst themselves after the pair was a safe distance away.

Before long, Bai Bing had led Yang Jing to the front of a spacious courtyard deep within Zhenyue Peak.

The courtyard had green-brick walls and black-tiled roofs. Its walls were high, and two stone lions flanked the entrance, giving it an imposing air.

Outside the gate, two Zhenyue Peak disciples dressed in white, close-fitting martial attire stood guard, their postures ramrod straight.

The two guards started upon seeing Bai Bing, but immediately bowed respectfully and said in unison, "We greet Peak Master Lingxi!"

Bai Bing gave a slight nod and said coolly, "Go and inform your Peak Master."

"Yes!" one of the disciples on duty replied without daring to delay. He turned and quickly walked into the courtyard.

Bai Bing and Yang Jing waited quietly outside the gate.

Sunlight filtered through the leaves of an ancient tree outside the courtyard, dappling the ground with light and shadow. A faint scent of sandalwood permeated the air, suggesting that incense was burning inside.

In just a moment, the sound of steady, powerful footsteps echoed from within the courtyard. The pace was unhurried, yet it carried an invisible pressure.

Immediately after, a sturdy, middle-aged man strode out.

He was dressed in a black brocade robe, its hems embroidered with dark gold mountain patterns. His features were resolute, and he exuded a powerful, profound aura. This was none other than Qin Gang, the Peak Master of Zhenyue Peak.

Qin Gang’s gaze fell upon Bai Bing first, and a hearty smile spread across his face. "I was unaware of your visit, Peak Master Lingxi," he said, cupping his fists. "Forgive me for not coming out to greet you."

At his words, Bai Bing raised an eyebrow. The corner of her mouth lifted into the faintest of smiles, and her tone held a subtle, teasing note. "No need for such pleasantries, Peak Master Qin. I’ve come to fulfill our agreement."

"Fulfill our agreement?" Qin Gang repeated, taken aback. His thick brows knitted in confusion, as he failed to immediately grasp her meaning.

’Fulfill an agreement?’

’What agreement?’

Seeing his reaction, a rare, genuine smile bloomed on Bai Bing’s face. It was like the first melting of ice and snow, instantly washing away the cold air that always seemed to surround her.

She gestured to Yang Jing, who had been standing silently to the side, his posture straight and tall. Her lips curled slightly as she said to Qin Gang, "Peak Master Qin, take a look. This is Yang Jing, an Inner Sect Disciple of my Lingxi Peak. He has now broken through to the Qi Eating Realm."
