Book 4, Chapter 132: Gather Ye All Together
The moment Qi Qianyang sent Heros flying, Xu Chan ran away without any hesitation.
Qi Qianyang stared at Xu Chan’s retreating back for a bit, but decided that he wasn’t bothered by him escaping and didn’t chase after him.
He turned in another direction. Two people had appeared within sight. When they moved, they were like two lightning bolts. He could even hear rumbling thunder when they rushed toward him from his left and right.
He looked to both sides. When he saw the fluttering fins glowing, he narrowed his eyes.
Boom!
The next moment, Siegfried of the Lightning Siblings was slammed into the ground so hard that it trembled, and a huge pit formed under him. Qi Qianyang used the momentum from his punch to bend his back and dodge Silvia’s kick.
Silvia’s inertia carried her forward quite a bit, but she used the fin to turn in the air. Her movements were so sharp that she looked like a blue lightning bolt. Just as she was about to run back to Qi Qianyang, she saw Siegfried in front of her, so she grabbed him, and they tumbled backward like bouncing balls.
Before Qi Qianyang even completed the motion of throwing Siegfried away, a huge person appeared silently behind him. The person was three meters tall, only a little shorter than Heros, but so quick that he was like a fleeting shadow.
He was Sente Valkoni, codenamed Gray Whale.
He lifted his hammer up high, and it glowed as he swung it down on Qi Qianyang’s shoulder.
Qi Qianyang activated his spirit sense and melted the light on the hammer, but the force from the swing still entered his body. His bones shattered, and his shoulder collapsed, but he acted as if he didn’t even notice it. His back remained straight, and he turned his head to look backward.
Gray Whale’s heart skipped a beat, and his instincts screeched at him that danger was impending, but before he could react, he was sent flying dozens of meters back and crashed on the other side of the river.
Qi Qianyang yanked off the top of his martial arts uniform to reveal his smooth back and well-toned, wing-like lat muscles. After a roll of his broken shoulder, cracking sounds rose, and the shattered bones reconnected. By the time his shoulder returned to position, he had already fully recovered.
At this point, everyone from the Union and the Linacrox Union arrived. When they saw that Heros, the Lightning Siblings, and Gray Whale were all defeated, they were shocked.
Ingram cast a glance at Qi Qianyang, but his Realm Pass had no information about the man. He could only tell based on his face and technique that he was from the Great Shun Republic.
He turned to one of the panting martial artists beside him. “Tell the ones at the back to send a telegram to the rear. They must have everything ready by tomorrow .”
The martial artist was stunned, but didn’t dare to ask further questions. He just saluted Ingram and started running back.
Qi Qianyang turned around and faced the continuous stream of people coming out of the forest. He gave them an amused smile and rolled his neck, which let out cracking sounds.
At that moment, a loud bang came from far away, and stones flew over. Heros had gotten to his feet with skin that had changed color to a light gold one. When light shone on him, it sparkled. His black hair had also grown so long that it reached his back, and he had become taller.
He truly lived up to his codename as the Giant God.
The Lightning Siblings and Gray Whale got to their feet as well. All of them were staring warily at Qi Qianyang as they realized that he might be their strongest opponent.
Was he with the Great Shun Republic or the former royal family?
Their eyes shifted to the ball in his hands.
It had to be the artifact.
When Qi Qianyang saw where their eyes went, he grinned. There were quite a lot of newcomers. If they were scattered, it would take quite a lot of effort to wipe them all out. But now that they had all gathered in one place, he wasn’t going to let this kindness go to waste.
Just then, he sensed something strange.
Hmm?
The ground under his feet arched, and a large creature resembling a centipede broke through to bind him.
It was so quick that it took him by surprise, especially since there had been no signs of it before. The creature bound him in an instant, and its many sharp, hooked legs wrapped around his body as they tried to pierce his muscles. Even so, Qi Qianyang could tell that most of its body was still buried in the dirt.
It wasn’t alone, though. The earth around him opened up, and other centipede-like creatures shot out from underground to gather around the artifact in his hands. By the looks of it, they wanted to steal it.
Humans weren’t the only ones after the artifact. The creatures in the merged space were highly attracted to it too, so much so that they threw themselves at it like moths to a flame.
The moment Qi Qianyang was bound, the people in the clearing realized their chance. They rushed over at top speed.
The first to arrive were the Lightning Siblings. As always, they chose to launch a pincer attack on Qi Qianyang. They struck him like two lightning bolts.
His hips and one of his arms snapped from the brute force, and his whole body bent.
Meanwhile, Soldier Ant rushed boldly at Qi Qianyang from the front, clenched his fists, pushed his huge boxing gloves together, and slammed them into Qi Qianyang’s chest.
Boom!
The Heartborn Force caused his chest to cave in. Even if Qi Qianyang was bound by the centipede-like creature, his back still arched.
Gray Whale appeared behind him. With a twist, he slammed the hammer on his back. This time, Qi Qianyang’s feet lifted off the ground. If not for the centipede-like creature holding him down, he would have been sent flying. They could hear snapping sounds coming from the centipede-like creature being stretched taut.
Yet even though everyone landed their attacks on him, Qi Qianyang continued grinning in an arrogant, almost crazed manner. It was surreal, and it made them feel as if danger was looming over their heads.
After their first attack, no one continued attacking Qi Qianyang. Instead, they retreated rapidly.
Faint light was coming from the struck parts. The caved-in bones reconnected, and the destroyed tissue regrew. He was healing rapidly, while the centipede-like creature’s body started swelling up and exploded.
Qi Qianyang spread his arms and yanked off the centipede-like creature’s legs wrapped around his body. When he threw them on the ground, someone rushed over. On his way, the centipede-like creatures were smashed to bits, and a glowing fist rammed into Qi Qianyang’s face.
Qi Qianyang was thrown back. The great power caused his eyes to roll back, and he tumbled on the ground dozens of times before stopping tens of meters away. He lay on the ground, unmoving.
The artifact fell out of his hands, and the centipede-like creatures rushed over, but before they could reach it, they were blasted away by a force akin to a bomb.
Heros strode over and picked up the artifact once more. The Winged Rat Monkeys, despite wanting to attack him, were terrified and simply flew around him. None of them tried to claw at him anymore.
When the others looked at his tall, strong, and almost perfect body, they thought that he had walked straight out of a myth, and respect shone in their eyes.
Heros had learned his martial arts from the mural of the famous hero, Hapmoas. He belonged to one of the martial arts factions in the Western Continent who followed him.
There was nothing flashy about his martial arts. They only boosted his physical attributes. Yet this simple boost increased his combat prowess by an incredible amount.
Suddenly, they heard laughter.
Qi Qianyang’s shoulders quivered. Slowly, he pushed himself up and whipped his head around. Everyone’s heart skipped a beat.
Half of his brain was gone and his face had been shattered, but the remaining half of his face was grinning in such a manner that they trembled. Light shone on his wounds, and his skin, flesh, and bones let out snapping sounds as they healed.
When he straightened back, he had already recovered. The only thing that stayed was the crazed grin.
As long as he had some power from the existence, he could repair himself, and it was far from being used up. At most, he had only used a third of it.
Higher limits were notoriously hard to reach, so the difference in strength between them wasn’t as great as he thought it would be. With just a bit of an increase in power, he would gain a huge edge. Naturally, if he got a huge boost, he would leave everyone in the dust.
He sucked in a slow breath and grew taller with the sound of bones cracking. His originally loose pants slowly stuck to his swollen muscles, and his irises turned dark as he gave off a dangerous aura.
He smirked and turned to the artifact in Heros’ hand. Just as he was about to go and grab the artifact, he whipped his head around to look in another direction.
Heros’ expression turned grim. He had been ready to fight back, but he too, looked in another direction.
The others hadn’t noticed anything yet, but upon seeing their reaction, their guards went up, and they looked over.
There was nothing at first, but after a while, they saw large flocks of birds flying away, as if they were fleeing from danger. At the same time, the ground trembled slightly and pebbles jolted.
A rolling white line of smoke appeared before their eyes. Wherever it passed, low-lying plants and shrubs collapsed. It was getting closer to them with loud, thunderous rumbles.
As they watched in surprise and wariness, the smoke rushed out of the forest and came to an abrupt stop. Rumbling sounds echoed around them. As dust spread outward in rolling waves, they saw the silhouette of a person. They couldn’t see his face, only a red scarf fluttering behind him.
