Chapter 844: Beating People Is So Stress-Relieving
Yang Cheng didn’t make a move; instead, he looked at Kong Lingwen, curling his lips into a smile, and said softly, "Lin Wen, you make the move."
Kong Lingwen was taken aback: "Me?"
"You’re now a cultivator too, dealing with a few small thugs is more than enough, just think of it as practice."
Yang Cheng lowered his voice, then released his grip on Yellow Hair’s wrist, stepping back to give her enough space to perform.
Kong Lingwen hesitated as she looked at the three thugs in front of her.
She had bodyguards with her since childhood and had never had a fight, let alone hit someone.
"Beautiful, your man is no good, pushing you out to take the bullet. Why not come with me; I’ll protect you,"
Yellow Hair rubbed his reddened wrist, thinking Yang Xiaojun was scared, and approached with a grin, reaching out to hug Kong Lingwen’s waist.
Kong Lingwen furrowed her brows slightly, instinctively kicking out.
The kick was quick and fierce, hitting Yellow Hair right in the stomach.
Yellow Hair screamed, flying backward and landing on the ground, clutching his stomach and curling up into a ball.
The other two thugs were stunned, never expecting this delicate-looking beauty to strike so fiercely.
"Very good job, don’t worry, beat them up; they deserve it for harassing you,"
Yang Xiaojun said with a laugh, signaling her to continue.
"What are you standing there for? Get her!"
Yellow Hair lying on the ground shouted furiously, his face contorting with rage.
The thugs felt humiliated, immediately drawing folding knives from their waists, gritting their teeth, and charging at Kong Lingwen with their knives raised.
This time, Kong Lingwen didn’t hesitate; she sidestepped to dodge, then followed with a swift double kick, sending the two thugs flying.
Crack!
The sound of bones fracturing was clearly audible, and the thug screamed as the folding knife clattered to the ground, his wrist hanging limp.
"Isn’t it satisfying to kick people?"
Yang Xiaojun chuckled.
Kong Lingwen’s cheeks flushed, nodding excitedly, "Yeah, who knew beating people up could be so stress-relieving!"
"Want to keep playing?"
"Yes, yes!"
She nodded eagerly.
The thugs: "..."
They were instantly dumbfounded, sobered up substantially, realizing they had kicked an iron plate. They quickly turned to run, with Yellow Hair and the two who had been kicked struggling to get up and follow.
"The girl was amazing, she drove the bad guys away with just a few kicks!"
"These thugs do nothing but evil, and finally, someone taught them a lesson."
A round of applause and praise arose from the surrounding crowd. These thugs often loitered in the area, extorting protection money from vendors or harassing pretty girls at night markets. Their numbers and rowdy demeanor deterred people from confronting them.
Now that someone had dealt with these thugs, everyone was quite pleased.
Kong Lingwen still wanted to chase after them, but Yang Cheng grabbed her, causing her to frown with dissatisfaction, "Why are you stopping me? I’m not done yet!"
"We haven’t eaten yet, don’t let them ruin your mood."
Yang Cheng laughed helplessly; he merely wanted Kong Lingwen to try taking action, not expecting her to get addicted.
Kong Lingwen excitedly hugged Yang Cheng, laughing, "I didn’t expect I had so much strength, just kicked them casually, and they flew off. It’s so much fun!"
A delicate fragrance filled his nostrils, and the softness of her chest brushed against him, igniting a flame in his lower abdomen.
Kong Lingwen belatedly realized, blushing as she glared at him before pulling away from his embrace.
Yang Cheng offered an awkward smile, cleared his throat, and said, "You fought well just now, very agile for a first time, you have talent."
Kong Lingwen’s lips turned up slightly, a hint of pride flashing in her eyes.
"Come on, let’s go home."
Yang Cheng took her hand, and they left the night market.
As the car drove through the night, Kong Lingwen sat in the passenger seat, still savoring the feeling of the fight earlier.
"Yang Cheng, do you think I’m impressive?"
She asked with a smile.
"Impressive, you did better than I did the first time I fought."
Yang Cheng glanced at her indulgently.
Just as he finished speaking, a sharp pain suddenly pierced his chest, as if something were stabbing his heart fiercely.
Yang Cheng’s body shuddered, reaching to clutch his chest. Since becoming a cultivator, his physical condition was exceptionally strong; each cultivation upgrade circulated True Qi through him, transforming him, making illness impossible.
"What’s wrong with you?"
Seeing him frown deeply, Kong Lingwen asked worriedly.
"It’s nothing."
Yang Cheng thought perhaps he was just too tired recently, dismissing it, and continued driving. A few seconds later, the chest pain returned even more intensely.
His attention waned, the car swerved sharply, nearly hitting the guardrail.
"Yang Cheng! What’s happening to you?"
Kong Lingwen’s face changed dramatically as she hurried to support him.
Yang Cheng gritted his teeth as cold sweat poured from his forehead like rain, the chest pain making it almost impossible to breathe.
"I’m... I’m fine..."
He strained to park the car by the roadside, slumping over the steering wheel, gasping for air.
"Playing dangerously! Getting thrills in the car! Go home for that! Almost made me crash!"
Just then, a driver pulled up next to Yang Cheng’s car, complaining unpleasantly.
He assumed Yang Cheng and Kong Lingwen were engaging in something unspeakable in the car, causing Yang Cheng to get so excited he nearly crashed into the guardrail.
Though the man’s words were unkind, Yang Cheng realized he had indeed nearly caused an accident. Weakly, he replied, "Sorry, it wasn’t intentional, I’m just not feeling well."
Seeing Yang Cheng’s pale face and the sweat pouring from his forehead, the driver realized he had misunderstood and quickly offered, "I misunderstood, how about I take you to a hospital? Driving like this is too dangerous."
"No need, I’ll be fine in a bit."
Yang Cheng waved it off, and as the driver saw he was really okay, he drove away.
Meanwhile, in the Gong Family’s villa, in the surveillance room.
Gong Jian, Gong Lin, and Gong Yu stood before the screen, each displaying a different expression.
In the image, Yin Wujiang sat cross-legged before a Bronze Tripod, holding a black Porcelain Doll in his hand. The doll was palm-sized, jet-black all over, covered in dense red runes, emanating a strange glow in the dim light.
The most unsettling sight was a photograph of Yang Cheng attached to the doll’s chest.
"What is that thing?"
Gong Lin asked, frowning.
"Not sure, but with Elder Yin involved, that little bastard Yang Cheng won’t have it easy."
Gong Jian was excited, wanting payback for the humiliation he suffered at Yang Cheng’s hands.
A complex look flickered in Gong Lin’s eyes. Though it was her first encounter with Yin Wujiang, from her father’s attitude, she could tell this elder’s identity was extraordinary.
Yin Wujiang took a long nail in his hand, muttering an incantation, then forcefully drove it into the Porcelain Doll’s chest.
