"Yang Cheng, let’s leave too. I don’t know why, but I always feel a little uneasy. It’s better to leave quickly."

Kong Lingwen covered her chest; her heart had been pounding since just now, with a bad premonition.

"Sister, could something have happened to dad over there?"

Kong Lingchuan also looked worried, his expression unprecedentedly serious.

"I’ll give dad a call and ask him to be careful."

Kong Lingwen immediately took out her phone and dialed Kong Jingshan’s number.

"Dad, how are things over there?"

"Things are very safe on my end. No one will find me, and there are quite a few people protecting me. Even if someone comes after me, they can escort me away."

Kong Jingshan’s voice was calm. He had faked his death to escape, putting Cao Ruibin off guard. Now it was time to start the counterattack.

"Okay, be careful. If your location is exposed, take grandpa and leave quickly."

Kong Lingwen advised before hanging up, finally breathing a sigh of relief.

The group immediately got into the car, left the Kong Family Villa, and headed to an old apartment area.

The buildings here were terribly dilapidated, with peeling walls and a whole block slightly shaky. Those with some money had already moved out, leaving mostly elderly with no source of income.

Yang Cheng and his group got out of the car and walked inside, immediately attracting the attention of many residents.

A few elderly were gathered chatting not far away, so he quickly approached and asked with a smile, "Uncle, Auntie, do you know if there’s an old man who does blacksmithing around here?"

Weapon-making couldn’t be mentioned directly, so Kong Jingshan had instructed them to say the person was a blacksmith. In reality, it’s quite similar since that’s the trade the person was in.

"Are you talking about old Chen?"

One of the elders spoke up first.

"That should be him. Do you know where Master Chen’s place is?"

As Yang Cheng spoke, he gestured to Gao Peng to take out his cigarettes.

He usually didn’t smoke, but he knew Gao Peng always had some, and they were all expensive.

Gao Peng immediately stepped forward and handed his cigarettes to the elder.

The old man couldn’t recognize the brand, but just by looking at the packaging and the clothing of the group, he knew it was a good brand. He smiled amiably and said, "His place is too secluded. Even if I tell you, you won’t remember. I’ll take you there instead."

"Thank you."

Yang Cheng nodded slightly, and the group followed the old man inside.

This old apartment district had no property management, and coupled with the surrounding construction areas, the roads were filled with garbage and mud, dirtying their shoes quickly.

"Brother Cen, are you sure about this? The person you’re looking for lives here?"

Gao Peng was incredulous. The person was supposedly a Weapon Master, and the money for making a single weapon could likely buy an apartment. Why would he live in such a godforsaken place?

"Do you think everyone is as materialistic as you? A true master has little desire for material things."

Just as he finished speaking, the old man pointed to the entrance of a block of tube houses: "It’s here, go up to the second floor and to the left, the last house is old Chen’s."

"Alright, thank you, sir."

Yang Cheng smiled and then led the group inside.

Before they reached the place, a burst of noise came from within.

"Get out of my house!"

A roar of anger followed by the sound of things being smashed.

"Damn! Old geezer! You’re asking for it!"

"We sincerely invited you and offered a high price. If you don’t take the offer, we’ll have to take action!"

The leader of the men said fiercely, his face full of menace.

Standing opposite him was a sixty-something man with graying hair, none other than the legendary Weapon Master, Chen Shixiang.

"I’ve made myself very clear; crafting weapons depends on fate. It’s not about how many you want. I don’t allow mediocre items to come from my hands, so forget it. Anyway, I’m half in the grave already; you might as well kill me."

There was no fear in his eyes; he cared nothing about death. Even if he died, he wouldn’t force himself to craft a weapon.

"Damn it! We won’t kill you, but we can take action against your family. If you don’t start working, I’ll kill one of them each day!"

The man was burly, clearly someone with blood on his hands, known as Xiong, a famous thug in this area.

Chen Shixiang’s expression was indifferent, snorting coldly: "I’m all alone, with no family. You can’t threaten me. Either kill me, or get the hell out!"

Xiong’s face turned livid with anger, realizing the old man had no Achilles’ heel. He could only suppress his fury and said, "Master Chen, if you feel the price is inadequate, we can negotiate. If you have other conditions, you can also say them. I’m just doing this for someone else; don’t make it hard for me."

"If I cared about money, I wouldn’t live in a place like this. Even if your boss came to invite me personally, it would be useless!"

Chen Shixiang’s attitude remained firm, showing no sign of compromise.

"Damn it! Truly a stubborn old fart! I don’t believe we can’t handle you!"

Xiong glared angrily, gesturing to his subordinates.

"Tie him up, I’m going to show him some pain today!"

The group of thugs surrounded Chen Shixiang. They knew Xiong’s methods of torture were extensive, and they didn’t believe the old man could endure.

"Stop!"

At this moment, a voice came from behind.

Yang Cheng strode into the room, his eyes coldly fixed on Xiong and his men.

Kong Jingshan had long said that Master Chen’s skill was outstanding but his personality was very peculiar. If he felt a client had fate, he would craft a weapon for them without payment. But if not, no amount of riches could persuade him. Seeing him in distress today, Yang Cheng felt compelled to help for a good impression, uncertain if he would gain Master Chen’s favor.

"The master has already said no. Why force it?"

Yang Cheng was the first to enter, followed by a few others.

"Damn it! Who do you think you are, meddling in my business?"

"The old man doesn’t know what’s good for him, cutting off my livelihood. Since you’re making it difficult for me, I’ll make it difficult for you too!"

Xiong roared, brandishing his baton to warn Yang Cheng off.

Yang Cheng’s mouth curled into a cold smile, "I’m getting involved today for sure. If you want to harm the master, you’ll have to get through me first!"

Chen Shixiang scrutinized Yang Cheng and waved his hand, saying, "Young man, my matters don’t concern you. Leave quickly and stay out of trouble."

"You heard him, kid. The old man told you to leave, so scram!"

Just then, Xiong noticed the two graceful figures standing behind Yang Cheng.
